This is the stuff I use

I put it on all my active acne and all the ones I pop (naughty me) but I just use it as a spot treatment. Not all over my face.

Hi everyone. :)

I was using Neosporin on some spots last week and it definitely helped. I didn't even think about trying the pain relief kind. That would certainly be helpful on painful cysts! I've just been using the original formula though. Has everyone else been using the original kind as well?

I was using the original kind.. Like the ointment and I switched because I didn't like the greasy feeling and I could apply makeup after using it. With the cream kind I am able to use it a few times a day without needing to hide afterwards. I still found the ointment to be helpful. I couldn't help but think that I was clogging my pores with that though. Something about the cream feels cleaner on my face if that makes sense.

Like 3 times haha. morning afternoon and night

I'm definitely going to have to get the cream then! The ointment makes me look like a greasy dirtball, and you're right, it's so greasy that I feel like it might clog my pores.

Hey! 🙂

I've been using the original ointment. It would make sense to use the cream, since it's not greasy. I definitely have noticed a difference with how fast my skin has been healing since I started using it though!!

Yeah, the original ointment is definitely greasy and gross feeling. I was only using it at night, so I hadn't thought about putting it on under makeup yet. I'm definitely going to try out the cream though!

I noticed my skin was healing faster when I used it, too. Always a good thing! 😀

:o I didn't know they had cream! I use it at night, the original ointment and it does look gross in the areas I put it in, I put it on the popped pimples, and then any ones that are red I put hydrocortisone on and it takes the redness down a ton, I never notice it working through the day but when I put it on at night and wake up they look much betta!

I didn't know they had cream either! Here I am putting on the original ointment & I could have been using the cream! And hmm I may have to try hydrocortisone for redness! 🙂

You know it's too bad we don't all live near each other we could all get together and have juicy accutane talks lol. Swap stories and products! It would be kind of cool to have a group of girlfriends all going through the same shit wouldn't it?

Um... it's too bad we don't live near each other or we could all get together in our party dresses and go out for DRINKS! (I know I know, not supposed to drink on accutane, blah blah). Well... can we at least all be friends on facebook? 🙂

I TOTALLY agree! I would love to have you gals here. Although I honestly don't drink alcohol, I would make us smoothies or we could go out for tea! I make insane peanut butter banana chocolate smoothies and green tea smoothies.

I made a post about a week ago on FB saying I was going on Accutane, but then got scared and deleted it. I try not to post about acne on FB...that's what these forums are for!

I'm with you on this, I'm not giving up drinking either, I won't go get shit faced but I am still drinking. I'm cool with Facebook friends as long as we're not posting about acne on fb hahaha. Anyone who want to be my facebook friend inbox me ur user names smile.png

No worries... I don't talk about acne whatsoever in "real" life! In fact, part of the reason why I won't post pictures on here is because I'm weirded out that someone I know will see! Yes, I know that's silly, but I'm a private person!

Really?? My best friends know I'm taking Accutane now, but I don't sit around and discuss zits or anything. Lol! My friends know what my skin looks like, so I guess I have nothing to hide. wink.png

Ladies, ladies, ladies... You guys really need to fix your diets, lol. Coffee for breakfast? 3 coffee's for breakfast? SKIPPING breakfast?!?

I'm a anti-accutane person, but I feel like I should give you guys some pointers.

Firstly, cysts and pimples don't form because they're lingering somewhere under your skin waiting to pop out: they're forming because of something you ate, and your body is cleansing it out through your skin. Even though you're on accutane, you will get much quicker results if you start to eat healthier.

Cut off ALL grains. That means: Rice, Pasta, Pizza, Breads, ect... Go to the store and buy yourself 100% Whey protein. Protein will curb any cravings for grains and is very healthy for you. You also are going to want lots and lots of good fats. Go to the store and buy Flaxseed oil. I gaurantee you're going to notice a difference by just taking these simple steps.

Also, please - for your own sake - don't skip breakfast! Eat some eggs and veggies.

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in rolleyes.gif

Good luck with your journey!

I agree with you somewhat about how diet affects acne, but there are obviously people with horrible diets who have flawless skin. The past two years i have been on a healthy vegan diet. I did notice a difference in the occurrence of cysts because lactose can aggravate acne that is already forming, but only to a certain point. Most of the time your diet will only affect your existing acne, so it's not really true that what you eat has such a big impact. I would recommend a healthy diet though, because it's always better to feel your best! 🙂

I love waking up to conversations on my log haha. Gives me something to read. But that would be awesome if we all lived close to each other! I definitely don't talk to any of my friends about my acne, but I have shown my close friends pictures of my skin without makeup and they always sit there in disbelief, like "Really, that's underneath your makeup?" We should definitely be-friend eachother on Facebook!

SO YOU GUYS!!!!! [Haha, sorry, I'm a bit excited.]

I had my derm appointment today and she increased my dosage to 80mg without me even asking, since I'm still kinda breaking out. But she said that I've definitely improved and that she thinks by June I'll be seeing some real improvement. So crazy that I'm almost halfway done this course, that just baffles my mind.

& un-Accutane related, I'm also done with this semester at college! Had my Algebra final last night and got a 97, and a final grade of 93! smile.png

And congrats on finishing the semester!!

Thank you!!

I thought she wouldn't go for a dose increase, but she did right away! I was pleasantly surprised, haha.

Congrats on being bumped up!!! I'm so excited for you! And holy cow on the being half-way done! I just added you on FB.

How do you feel about covering it up with makeup? I effing hate makeup. I only use mineral makeup and even then it doesn't even really cover it up when it's so bad. Plus, putting powder in my open wounds is seriously not good--the areas just end up refilling with pus. :( Anyway, do you find liquid makeup aggravates things for you? I'm trying to find the confidence to not wear makeup. I used to wear Aveda tinted moisturizer spf 15 and it left a beautiful, dewy near-flawless finish, but I hated washing it off each night. I hope that our skin will heal and that makeup will be optional from now on.

Best of luck and can't wait to see your progress!
