Thanks you lovely bunch
Man I wish I did this years ago...
...it's hard to tell how much permanent scarring I'll end up with but here's hoping there's not too much that goes below the surface if you see what I mean? x x
I was thinking the same thing recently...Why didn't I do this years ago?? I wouldn't have had to deal with it.
About the scarring:
I'm on day 128 today, and I have no scarring that I've noticed. I've had a few recent pimples (3 or 4) in the last 2 months which are still very slightly visible, but all of my other red marks faded about 3 weeks ago.
DAY 78
Defo not out of the woods yet... I have this raised section of my right jawline which keeps providing me with a whitehead every now and then...not cysts though...its really odd...
2 actives today one on my temple and one on that bit of jawline... hope this is the last purge as most other areas are smooth!
57% Through minimum dose today x x
Hey! my acne is somewhat like yours? im on day 17 now and am goign through IB anyways i wantedto ask you. what kinda makeup do you use..im having trouble finding a good coverage. the ones i have (clinique, body shop mineral) make me look worse . im trying to find out what you ladies have been using.
Hello lovely... Good luck on your course!!
My makeup routine is : after washing my face with sebamed i put cetaphil moisturizer on all over, then a light layer (one pump) of Loreal true match foundation then brush over loreal true match minerals powder until I'm happy with the coverage (depends on day / night / mood!) I don't use coverup / concealer as I was scared it would make spots look worse by highlighting them! My makeup isnt a total 100% blemish free mask but it does look natural, isnt expensive and doesn't break me out at all.... Any help? X x x

THanks for the reply! good luck to you! your almost done!
DAY 82
No actives really - just quite a few skin coloured bumps (does anyone else have these?) and loads of hyperpigmentation...
In some lights I can see a couple of scars that look like they aren't smooth....like maybe pits this is what I dreaded...
...has anyone had these that have gone away and re plumped.... or am I gonna be stuck with them forever? I'll take them any day over acne and overall my skin looks pretty smooth so can't complain... I just want perfection after hideous skin for sooooo long!!
Maybe I'll get a chemical peel after I'm done if I stay clear? Any advice boys and girls?

I also have some very minor pits on my lower face, mostly on the right side. I am going to give them time to plump up after I finish my treatment (you can't get a peel for a little while anyway - maybe 6 months?), then get a peel if needed. One of the girls who works for my derm took accutane and had a peel for her skin texture later on and you would never know by looking at her; her skin is smooth and pretty.

Oooh interesting... what type of peel did she get? I'm a complete novice at things like that... I know they vary in severity and price... is it gycolic or something?
Do you have to go to a private hospital for one or do beauty salons do them? I'm such a non girl haha!

DAY 83
Eaten 61% of my minimum dose wooo yum yum!!
If I carry on at 60 mg/day that means only 45 days to go?!!! GOSH!!
Of course I'd hope to be on for longer than that... BUT... Its my 3 month mark derm appointment tomorrow.... Quite nervous as my cholesterol was up last month, Really hoping it's stabilised as I'm doing really well on 60mg/day with no side effects whatsoever apart from dryish lips...and don't want my dose to be reduced... or even stopped
Fingers crossed... wish me luck!! x x
THREEE MONTHS DOWN!!!!!!!!!
DAY 84
Derm appointment went really well... she said my face shows good improvement and my cholesterol levels are back down to 5.5 PHEW!!!... defo was too many roast potatoes at christmas which raised it last time then!!
Still not pregnant (woo) so I got my prescription for another month of 60mg/day yay!!!
Slightly worried that she said next time she saw me we'd decide whether I needed any more pills or not seeing as I've made good improvement..... That would only be a total of 4 months :/ which would mean I'd be 924mg (15 and a half days) short of my minimum doseage... don't these derms read any of the research papers on this drug?!!
I wanna definitely make sure I'm rid of this pox and don't get a relapse.... so hopefully she listens to me next visit and gives me another months worth to be sure...
Here ya go chart fans... have I reached ''quiescence''?....

DAY 89
Hello everyone!
So... one small hairline spot today and that's a MIRACLE.... as I've totally ABUSED my face recently.... had a wonderful debauched weekend in London which meant I didnt take off my make up at night on Friday or Saturday!! :/
... I can't pretend its because I forgot... I was sharing beds with friends who were saying how good my skin looked...and couldn't bear the thought of them seeing how pigmented my face really is... I also didnt take my pills either day as I was drinking... I hope the dark Lord of acne doesnt punish me for this!
BUT I did have one of the best weekends I've had in ages and it was so wonderful to not have to think about my acne and factor it into every twist and turn of my trip.... not to wonder where my next wash basin will be to re wash, moisturise and re make up my face...I must say my dryness is pretty good too... teeny bit of nose drying and lips... but thats it for now...
to say I'm pretty smug and contented at the moment would be about right!!! x x x
Don't you just love how great your makeup looks all day without touchups?! That is my favorite part of the accutane dry skin. I never realized how badly my oil was messing up my makeup until I saw what it was like to be oil free.
Actually weirdly enough I've never been oily?!..... Seems for everyone else on here their acne is related to oil but if anything my face has always been on the dry side... this is one reason I was a bit worried accutane wouldnt work for me as my acne is unusual!! BUt yes my make up defo looks better all day.... but thats cos I don't have spots any more to catch / bleed / pick / appear YUCK....
