Thanks for asking. It's good. Still getting actives on a daily basis, but nothing like before. I'm happy with the results so far, but am very depressed by the hundreds of red marks. I'm not sure if they will end up being indents. I'm positive that I will end up doing laser. Did all your marks fade completely? If so, how long did it take? I believe accutane is suppose to heal them faster.

Nah, but a light enough pink I'm not worried about them.

I have indented scars, but it's ok. I'll see what they look like after tane.

Omg, I know.

It will be so nice to be done.

I am supposed to be on it thru Oct, but I don't if I need that last month.

I'll be way over the cumulative dose.

Just an update that I am still clear.

I have had one active that I picked too much, but nothing to worry about now.

My scars tend to bother me from time to time, but then I remind myself that the horrible acne is gone.

I plan on continuing my course @ 80mg thru the end of Oct, which will be a full 6 month course.

I wonder if I am really done breaking out? It has been so long and became such an obsession to become clear that now I am scared of it coming back. Afraid to enjoy my clear skin too much bc it might come back...

Sigh, I hate acne, lol.

I'm so happy for you Crystal!! I've been having that same fear lately. If it's not one thing, it's another. I think our brains need to have something to deal with. Enjoy your skin!! You've gone through too much to get it!

Afraid to enjoy my clear skin too much bc it might come back...

You deserve to enjoy it. Think back and remember what you had to go through to get to this point. You did all the hard work, now the rewards are yours. I understand though - I totally freaked myself out when I had a clear period earlier this year because it was something I hadn't experienced for thirteen years - it's hard to get out of those habits I guess. I wish I had enjoyed it now though because my skin has been nowhere as near as good as it was then. So go ahead, enjoy!

I am so happy for you! Try not to worry too much. Just don't do what I did and think that you can try and control or cure it with natural methods. At the first sign of your acne coming back, just immediately head back to the derm for a second round and your good to go. That's what I had done the first time I went on it. Besides, most people are not unlucky like me-their acne is cured after one shot. I on the other hand know that I will most likely be going on a fourth round sometime in the future. Sucks, but true non the less.

So side effects come and go in waves, its weird.

Hands r back to norm, but now I'm getting styes... blahhh

Actives r long gone, I can only see a few tiny clogs when I look too closely.

Marks fading sloowwwwlllllyyyy, still some indents. It is amazing to wear barely any powder when I was all about covering every spot.

Ok, so I've grown a med sized active on my cheek.

I'm posting bc idk how to extract this w/o making a mess.

I mean, my skin is sooooooo fragile. I'm really scared to tear the surrounding skin. I know everyone says dont pick, but come on, it's a nice whitehead. Just curious if anyone has any suggestions on how to do this. It seems if I squeeze or put pressure on nice skin the surface just tears off, and I mean w/ minimal pressure.

Suggestions please????

Personally, I've never found a way to pop pimples without making them worse, and that's without having Accutane-thinned skin. On that basis, maybe it's best to leave it alone. See instead if you can use something to dry it out and let it do its own thing. Easier said than done, I know, it's so tempting when it's right there, but it never ends well. Just see if you can stay away from the mirror!

Almost done with my 5th month and I've taken a turn for the worse.

Idk y, but over the last several days I've had several mini actives pop up.

Today alone 4 new ones have sprouted. They go sorta quickly, but I am really stressed and worried atm.

What am I doing wrong?

Why do new actives keep coming?

I figured that once my clogs cleared I'd be good.... But no such luck.

Any words of advice or anyone who's exp something similar?

I am in the same boat, about 2 weeks ago, all my clogged pores had come and gone and I thought maybe this is it...no such luck, I got a whole new batch and an old cyst seems to be aggravated. So frustrated. Assuming how long its been since the above post, I'm guessing you have perfectly clear skin again! How are indents and hyperpigmentation? How does it feel to be so close to the finish line??? Good I bet. I'm ready to scream again!

Hey Crystal, i've been following your log and it's been really inspirational to me as i start my third and final course of accutane. It is not unusual to have breakouts even towards the very end. The drug will stay in your system for a while so it will continue to do its job. From previous experience with my own stubborn acne, i recommend you talk with your derm about maintenance therapy with topicals. My acne came back twice after both my courses and it never occured to me to the preventative route after my skin cleared up. I'll do that this time around though.
