Just read your entire blog. You've upped my crappy mood. You rock! I'm on 60mg of Claravis. I have my 2 month appointment on Monday and I feel like my skin is improving, but very slowly. Maybe I've hit that plateau that you've mentioned?? I'm gonna ask her to up the dosage to 80. How's 100 going for ya??

It def is a slow process, my worst times were with each dose increase b/c i would breakout every time. I've only been on 100mg for one day now b/c some problems with my dr calling it in, but I swear i woke up super dry.....maybe i just didn't moisturize enough before bed? not sure just yet.....
I'm glad i made you feel better lol! I rock? ehh i dunno about all that.. hahahah
see...THIS POST for update
1 WEEK UNTIL MY COURSE IS COMPLETE
Here's the deal, I have 1 final week of 100mg Claravis. This month has been helllll with the bump from 80-100mg. Off the bat, I got 3-4 cysts right on my cheeks. All have healed pretty good except my most recent one. It's on my Right cheek and is still red but not active. Here's some Pictures.....
I really do wish I could have done 1 additional month on 100 since everything is starting to calm down, but my term won't allow me. My cumulative dose will be 147.9mg/kg of bw. I am in the range of remission, but I'm afraid because I was still breaking out in the last month....I guess we will see how this works when I am done next week.
Side effects. Dry lips are my only concern. No body pain and I have been going extra hard at the gym with no problems.
I'll update again after my course is over. Wish me luckkkkk fellow .org'ers
hey man just read your long and this drug is one hell of a roller coaster ride lol, one week i think i'm going to start getting clear then bam i breakout again.. i had a lot of clogged pores on my face so that explains it...hopefully you'll clear post tane since it still works in your body for 2 months after..
i have one more month on 80 mg, which is my 6th month. im actually staring to clear up now, *knock on wood* do you still have blackheads or did tane push em out?

Pushed MOST out.... still few on my cheeks and forehead....nose is clear tho. Prob pushed ~85% out
hey bro, when you say accutane pushed out the blackheads, did you let them fall off by themselves, or did you force them out?
I.e., when your face is wet after cleansing, when you dry your face with a towel (rubbing it dry with a towel, similar to how tennis players and basketball players wipe their faces dry), did the blackheads fall off?
good luck bro

They just came out. I would said there were prob 5 total that I forced out bc they were very surfaced and looked bad.....
Thanks! How's your course??
I've also just read your whole log and hate to read that you're disappointed. I've heard accutane remains in your system for at least a month post, so im interested in any updates you have from now until then! and even 2-3 months after. I definatly think accutane's got some magic left to give you:) keep your head up handsome!
Thanks a lot guys....MY derm told me in 6 months we can do another course if need be. (don't know if I'll do another one or not)
I sure hope there's some "magic" this damn 'tane has to offer!
The worst thing is that I was getting soooo clear nearly 100% with some red marks....what happened?!?!
Will update if anything changes....
Again THanks everyone
POST COURSE UPDATE+ PICS
Well, I have some good news. my acne is clearing up after my course. It's been eh...2+weeks and all my cysts and actives are gone. I'm left with a lot of red marks (will show in pics). Surprisingly, even my bacne has cleared since my course ended.
My last month was 100mg and it made me breakout like crazzyyyyy, but ever since stopping the breakouts have stopped which is what i was hoping for.
SIDE EFFECTS UPDATE
-My face is still pretty dry, but not unbearable (which it never was even during my course).
-My lips are pretty close to back to normal. I'm applying chapstick a time or 2 during the day as opposed to every 10 mins.
-I can't tell you how my body aches have been, because I;m getting over the flu right about now....but i'll take the flu over acne any day !!!
PICS
Please give me some feed back about what you think....AND any advice on red marks post accutane?!?!?
nice job, the pics look good! your red marks should fade, which i'm sure you've heard a billion times but maybe try using a toner once or twice a day on your face. i've been using it a few times a week while i'm on accutane (i know i know, i'm not supposed to) but i definitely think it's been helping get rid of the redness in my face and scars (:

Thanks, any suggestions on a toner??
Yeah! I use L'oreal Hydrafresh Toner. Its 99% alcohol free and is really gentle so I like it a lot. I just put it on one of those cotton rounds and rub it all over my face. It's always nice because I use it after I wash my face and when i look at the cotton round i can tell the toner gets off the makeup and dirt that's deeper in my pores, or just stuff I didnt get off while washing my face. Plus it just feels really refreshing (:
Just do this for a few days, and although it wont seem like it's doing much at the time.. it should start to make noticeable changes after a week or so. good luck!

I used chamomile tea topically that cleared ALL my red marks post-accutane and kept breakouts away for about 6 months. Just ran warm water through a chamomile teabag and patted it on my face morning/night. After cleansing, before moisturizing. Basically as a toner! It's a natural anti-inflammatory. As well green tea helps soothe redness, I notice a difference instantly when I put it on. I currently use chamomile at night, green tea in the morning, (chamomile's better at fading scars, green's better at soothing active acne).
