1 MONTH + 1 WEEK OFF TANE

Sorry guys that I haven't updated much but I'll start with some pics.....

OK... So i have been super happy with what happened POST tane..... my last week of my course my face looked horrible, but ever since ending my 5 month course (40,60,80,80,100mg) my face has had zero actives and slowly healing scars/ red marks. As you can see by the pics, i have no actives but some red marks..... I am using neutrogena Rapid Clear LOTION + TONER, which both have SA in them. I've used the lotion since my course ended and started the toner about 5 days ago in hopes to speed up the red marks.

ALL SIDE EFFECTS ARE GONE..... lips are back to normal (don't need chap stick but i still use it just in habit or due to the weather getting cold) ...... my facial oil is just a little bit more than when i was on tane but no where near the extent as before my course. ( I was never "super" dry on tane anyway)

Any questions... I will be sure to answer!

good for you man.

I must ask you a few questions if you do not mind.

1) how bad was the acne on your body? If i recall, you said tane cleared that up as well

2) Did you take antibiotics prior to taking accutane? if so, how long ago did u take them and for how long?

thanks

I had moderate Bacne which I relate to lifting weights (especially seemed worse after I would squat, Irritation from the bar seemed to flare it up). I still get some because I still lift, but nowhere near to what it was.

I took Bactrim for 2 months up until my first dose of accutane.

moderate bacne? kind of like this?

[Removed]

Yea i have heard how exercising causes acne on the back (lifting mostly). Any way around it?

My back was mostly painful cysts, the type where they kill to sit in a hard backed chair.....Just a few "pimples" now no more cysts.....

Preventing? Idk......Lifting/ exercising in general increases testosterone levels so if hormones influences your acne at all then it might not be preventable.

So I didn't read through your entire log, but did accutane affect your strength, workouts or body weight? Were there any things you learned to do to deal with any possible such side effects?

I felt some pretty bad body aches after a month or so (especially after a workout), but i combatted that with fish oil, which seemed to help. Strength or body weight weren't affected at all. Aquaphor for dry lips at night and Cortibalm during the day kept my lips in check.

Ok because all the stuff about bones breaking and muscles aching during accutane freaked me out. I don't want my legs to snap while hitting a squat 1RM or anything. Thanks for the info though

That's Great that your skin is still progressing after the accutane. Have you broken out all after ending your course?

~6 Months Post Accutane

I know I haven't updated in quite some time, but that is due to my skin doing quite well. I get the occasional pimple, but it heals quickly with the application of SA. I figured out my back acne by using a body wash with 2% SA in it.....

Besides that, my regimen consists of.... Biore- SA scrub, Purpose gentle cleanser, Neutrogena SA toner and Neutrogena SA lotion....

as you can see I use a lot of SA and that seems to be working best for me. It keeps me clear and treats the occasional pimple that I do get.

As for you deciding whether or not to go on a course of accutane, I recommend that you do. It is scary due to all of the bad stigma, but all drugs have their side effects. I tried nearly everything before accutane and nothing worked for me until it. I even broke out up until the month after my course. I thought for sure I was going to have to go on another course, but then all of a sudden i started to clear and stay clear. I hope i continue to stay clear and will do my best to keep you guys informed. I'm not even sure if the same people are on the .org as when I was active with my log. I kinda hope they aren't which means they figured out a solution to their acne like i did :)

Have a good day everyone!

Your after tane skin looks great and smooth, bro! This is an old thread, are you still clear today?

Although I'm happy for you, did you really take 100 mg your 5th month?! I'd be scared shitless to go over 60!
