ExModel, interesting story. How well did your back clear after usong sea salt?

Does this also mean that you have to use it continously?

I'd be interested in hearing what your GF has to say about sea salt and what kind of exctractions she performed.

My back, which was classified as "severe", was covered with cystic acne. Basically, not a square inch of it was clean. I had scars, large red marks, huge bumps, and there honestly wasn't a place on my back I could scratch or touch without litterally getting a bunch of gross puss or blood on my fingers.

After doing the Sea Salt for a month, the bumps were gone, the small hard leftover bits were gone, the redness was gone, and even the scars tightened up so they weren't as visible.

A small grain of sand or something like a sesame seed, was pulled out of every single one of my cysts and pimples. They would just come to the surface and pop out by themselves pretty much. Just some gentle pressure was usually enough to get them to come right out.

Because my situation was very bad, I still had some visible marks. But nothing more than someone who had very mild back pimples. This was mainly because I have been a picker and scratcher since they started.

I found you do have to keep up a maintenance routine with the sea salt. Because the condition will return. You won't have to do it every single day. But once or twice a week for a while, tapering off from there. You can always get back onto the salt baths if you notice a breakout coming.

I asked my GF to email me some info she has on the sea salt methods used in skin care. She didn't send me the info, but sent me a "formula" for a really good extraction bath. The recipe is on my computer at home and I will post it later. She had great success with it, and has shared it with alot of her friends who also have had great success with it.

***EDIT***

Ok I am now at home and editing this post instead of creating a new one....

Here is that "Formula" I spoke of.

Bath Soak to Remove Toxins

3/4 cup sea salt

1 cup table salt

1 cup baking soda

4 tbsp cream of tartar

8oz. hydrogen peroxide

-dissolve in bath while water is running, soak in bath for at least 30 minutes.

From what she has told me... afterwards you will really notice gunk coming out of your skin. So this soak once a week or as needed for the first while to really clear things up.

Be carefull when using a scrub brush or anything because this may make your skin sort of soft and easily irritated.

I will be doing this soak starting this weekend and I'll post my progress. Hopefully with pictures.

Just in case some of you missed it. Thanks to ExModel for the info.

Hey, after doing this bath soak, do you hop in the shower to wash off the excess stuff on your skin? Also, if so, do you use soap or just plain water??

Thanks

can i find all of these ingredients @ a grocery store? how much will they cost me?

and for the salts..do i look for one that says "sea salt" and another that says "table salt"? is epson salt the same as sea salt?

i have clogged pores and blackheads on my back..not severe but they keep coming back. i kept scratching them and i now have marks on my back. will this method get rid of these problems?

ive recently started applying BP 10% on my back and i think it's improving my condition. i think i need to go on 2.5% bcuz 10% makes me itch. if i start the whole salt bath thing, should i stop applying BP to my back? i also wash my back w/neutrogena body scrub. should i continue doing this, maybe before doing the bath?

The most expensive item is the cream of tartar in relation to quantity. I got it at Smart & Final for about $11 for 20 oz. Everything else is either cheap or reasonable. Sea salt and epsom salt are not the same.

Personally, I have switched to Dead Sea coarse salt based on what I have been reading here and elsewhere.

Do you guys think the sea salt will help with facial blackheads? I plan to actually snorkel for the 30 minutes a night in a tub of sea salt, and I'm hoping that will rid of my small red marks. From experience, do you think it will take care of the blackheads and mini whiteheads also?

Ah, also do you think I cut my back regimen while using this? I don't like applying BP gel to my back, and if this soaking could take its spot that would be great.

You are not serious about snorkelling are you? That is sounds so funny, sorry. Maybe you could get an oxygen tank and stay underwater for hours.

that's a good idea. How else are you supposed to submerge your face?

Only problem I have is that I don't fit in the tub, so my legs get cold.

I just did it tonight, and I snorkled. Yes, it was pretty silly, but it worked. I've never been in the ocean, but if there was ever a feeling of just being in one, I feel it now. I feel nice and relaxed.

PROBLEMS:

Sometimes the snorkel fails... You might want to hold your nose when that happens

It makes you dizzy being in there so long with your eyes closed.

I hate baths.

PROS:

It feels good

It makes you look good.

So far, I don't really see MAJOR improvements. It's my first night afterall. I think I'm going to make it a regular thing. Why waste all that normal water when you can make it salt water?

This sounds like an awful thing to have to do every night. Why don't you put a bunch of sea salt in a clay mask and wear it for a half an hour instead? I noticed many very expensive masques have sea salt as a basic ingredient.

my question has to do with facial clogged pores. they always manage to come back, uhg it's a vicious cycle. would this help get rid of them? taking a hot shower and use the steam to open up the pores on my face and apply sea salt to my damp face and leave it on for five mins.

Yes, sea salt is the bomb in getting rid of acne...i grew up on an island and NEVER had a zit til i moved to Switzerland...ugh. My skin always clears up when we go to Sweden on holidays (my husband's half Swedish), but i have found a way to get rid of clogged pores (just really have this problem on my face): Lush Ocean Salt scrub...this stuff rules. It is pretty expensive, but you really don't need much, and it works!!!! Plus, it helps with the homesickness :)

i bought sea salt and used it on my back after i stayed in the steam for a while...and i also applied it on my face. it burned. probably bcus i use green cream which is a retinol based product (makes my skin exfoliate EVERYDAY..i rub on my face after i wash my face and dead skin just peels off). plus i popped a couple of pimples and those stung a lot. im going to try the sea salt on my face couple of days later again since my skin hasnt been very tough these past days. the sea salt made my face very soft and less bumpy though! after just one application! thrilled. im gonna keep applying it on my back too after i stay in the steam for a while and let it set..then rinse. after i wash my back with neutrogena body scrub. then bp.

Stupid question. After using the sea salt, would it make a difference if I used neutrogenas body wash?

^ nope, go ahead it should help rinse some of the oils the salt didnt get. plus the salt acts more like a strong exfoliator not cleaser.

As for ordering online, I found a pretty good deal on bulk at this place.

Aye, quite a deal that is. I saved quite a pain on shipping by having my local health store agree to order it for me. I have it now, but there is quite a problem. First of all, it actually IS refined sea salt. I happens to have a sort of chloride additive in it, and it's in fine grain. I hope that's not a problem though. It really shouldn't be as it will disappear anyhow. We shall see by next week (No matter how thrilled I am about my results, I will not report until a full seven moon has been in effect,)

IMPORTANT!! PLEASE READ:

Okay, I said I wasn't going to update but this is serious. I almost fainted during the treatment and I would like to set up some guidelines for people who are going to use this.

DO NOT stay in if you feel like you want to take a rest for any reason.

If you feel unsure whether you can get out, TAKE YOUR TIME. Don't stand up quickly or you are guaranteed to come crashing down.

If you feel you can't stand up, and are stuck in the water just drain it. It may seem a bit wasteful, but obviously the treatment isn't going too well.

DO NOT be in a rush. If you can't get up, you can't get up.

I have a list of things that could have caused me becoming uneasy:

I could have used way too much salt.

I could have been breathing through my straw too slowly.

There might not have been enough ventilation, and the air was too moist.

I worked out really well this afternoon and I may have been too fatigued.

Beware! Salt treatments are great, but things CAN go wrong. We aren't fish afterall.

Besides all of that nonsense, I got a pretty good treatment. This time I took a shower before I soaked. Also, since I was about to faint I sat long enough to where most of it dried naturally. I had about 15 minutes of soaking, and about 25 minutes of sitting around hoping I don't blackout. My skin is looking good, the red scars are possibly a little more pale (Actually, I'm pretty confident a good tan will take care of them completely now.), and my skin is really soft and dry. Not dry as in crackly, but smooth and not oily at all. My blackhead loving nose is looking GREAT. I wonder what happened to the majority of the blackheads that were there.

I hope this helps. Remember, DO NOT LET YOURSELF FAINT!

i rub the sea salt on my body instead of taking a bath and it's working fine. i dont know how well compared to the bath but im seeing improvement

it's the last thing i do in the warm shower and i let it sit for like five mins, sometimes even a min or two before, and rinse. i do this after i wash with the neutrogena body scrub. this routine is working better than just the body scrub alone. i gently exfoliate my back w/the salt until they're almost melted and just let it sit

i also switched to suave shampoo and just condition the ends of my hair with whatever that's in the bathroom, right now pentene prov

^^This one is an iffy ^^

( U never know; It might work.)

If you guys can't find any kind of sea salts at your local grocery stores then try you local health stores that sell vitamins, herbs, weight loss products, homeopathy/aromatherapy, etc.

alright, here's an update. I'm not posting a picture because it looks just like the last picture if not, a little worse. I took about a week break since the last picture, and did the bath soak everyday this week with around 20oz of salt in the bath. I stayed in the hot water for around 25 minutes. I'm not sure if it's not enough salt or the water isn't hot enough, but it's not really working for me.

One theory I have is that I think having some sun directly on the back is actually a benefit to the skin...I'll have to test that theory when summer comes around. So far, I've spent around 50 bucks on a lot of salt. I'm going to try around 36oz of salt this week and if I don't see any improvements, I'm done with the salt thing.
