the acne I had on the back of my arms has improved a lot since I started using sea water
I live in the south east coast of Mexico, so I have the beach 15 min walking:P
I first started using it after reading this thread, back in july or august ...and it has helped a lot..nothing had helped my arms (specially the right one)
unfortunately, now I have my arms (again specially the right one) covered with many red marks and it looks bad, not like it used to be but there are some red marks
what can I use to erase all those pesky re3d marks? I've tried apple cider vinegar during night , but is there another thing I could use?
and don't doubt about using this regime for acne , it works, dunno about applying it on your face, never tried that. but it helps a lot, when I have a pimple in my arm, I just take a cotton, soeaked in seas water, apply it on the pimple, and let it stay there for a couple of mins, and the pus comes out with some gentle squizing ...or by itself sometimes
I just took a sea salt soak, and afterwards I felt dizzy and faintish. Now I have a pounding headache. Has this happened to anyone else after a sea salt soak?
I had the same as you when i took my dead sea salt bath , head was killing felt well sick!
maybe because i had the water to hot i dont no!
When you have the seasalt baths do you wash your hair and do your normal stuff in the bath or do you shower and do that first and then go in the bath or what ?
Thanks

It could be because you are dehydrated. Salt dehydrates you, and dehydration equals a headache. Try drinking a decent amount of water during the day before your bath (everyone is supposed to drink about 8 8oz. cups a day). Drink a glass maybe 45 minutes before you get into the tub. Drinking some Gatorade or Powerade a while before might help too. Maybe even drink some nice cool water while you're in the tub relaxing.
Also, the hotter the water in your tub, the more dehydrated you get. Just keep that in mind. When I take a really hot bath, my skin gets itchy because it saps the moisture from it. Lotion helps, but not fully.
Jean-Coutu here I come...sea salt "la personnelle" Some Nizoral and hey whet the heck....Some H&S while I'm at it.....My back, face and shoulders will feel like a babies butt pretty soon.....Thank !!!!
Just today me and my dad went down to the beach and uuummm stole sea water.. may sound lame lol... so what we did was wash out some cordial bottles and containers went down to the beach and filled the bottles with the water... is this more effective then just plain water and adding salt to it ? another thing i dont have body acne, I just have red marks on my face.. so whats the most effective way to wash my face with the sea water??
if I ever try this, i just want to clear this up:did you soak your FACE in the tub? or your body? im confused. because I dont have bodily acne so it would make no sense for me to sit in a tub of sea salt to cure acne I don't have. I only have acne on my face
Can you just not buy granular sea salt mix it with a bit of water and make a paste and put it on your face.. leave on a few minutes then rinse off like a mask etc?? I will probably try it that way.
My problem I dont understand. Ive had pimples every so often usually my time of month. One or two on the face. I am now 38 and things have gotten worse. It all started when we moved to this house and I was pregnant with my 3rd child.. had a 4th and still here fighting it. My chest broke out, my back broke out.. not severe but like acne/rash pimples. Sometimes they itch like a allergic reaction but also appear like pimples some are acne. I have tried everything from checking my hormones/ changing detergents of everything over the years trying process of elimination.. coming up with NOTHING. I drink lots of water but from tap. I used to drink alot of sodas but I dont much anymore.. that is another change since moving to this house.
Last month we went to Florida for a vacation for two weeks.. I didnt drink as much water from tap but did from bottle as I did at home. We went swimming a few times but not for long in a pool. Didnt have alot of time to do so. By the time we got back home I was cleared up. Went back to my normal routine and things and drinking tap water again. Within two weeks I was totally broke out again.. and more so in the face than I have in a LONG time and its not my time of the month. I am really getting frustrated.. and the only thing that was really different was drinking water from tap vs bottle. Has anyone had anything noticable about that? I was thinking maybe the chlorine from swimming but we didnt swim alot and it was in the first week of vacation.. the next week I was still improving on the acne.
I am in a experiment now of using bottled distilled water and see if it works.. giving it a couple weeks like on vacation.. If that doesnt help I will definately be trying out the sea salt. But need to do this first to see if its the cause. Need to know as it could be effecting my family as well.
Alright, well I'm on the regimen only during the day and I wanted to add sea salt into my regimen somehow. This is strictly regarding my face. Essentially here is what I do:
Morning
-wash face with cetaphil oily\normal
-fill the sink with warm sea salt and splash off the cetaphil
-rinse with cool water
-apply bp 5% and neutrogena healthy skin lotion spf 15
Night
--wash face with cetaphil oily\normal
-fill the sink with warm sea salt and splash off the cetaphil
-rinse with cool water
-apply stievamycin
I started this last night and already I can see results because I do it morning and night. We'll see how it goes throughout the week! I'm wondering whether I can lessen the doses of the regimen if the sea salt proves effective.
Will this work in conjunction with a topical treatment, or would you suggest I just try the sea salt soak out ALONE.
My face has cleared up with a regimen consisting of -
Morning -
Clearasil Gentle cleanser - sensitive
MAYBE some BP if I notice a spot
Eucerin Redness Relief SPF 15
Night -
Clearasil Ultra - 2% SA
2.5% BP (10% on some parts)
Eucerin Redness Relief SPF 15
Although it cleared up my face, it is extremely hard to do on my back. However, if it will help, I am willing to do it. Would I cleanse/BP after soaking?
My esthetician suggested sea salt today. She said that although she never had acne-prone skin, when she moved from here to the beach in Hawaii, she got really stressed and broke out, and so every morning and night she would splash her face with the ocean water and it cleared up her blemishes.
Also, i can speak from experience that it can really help with razor burn and post-waxing.
Hi Everyone,
Read the thread and then did some research. Here are somethings I have found out (please feel free to checkout my information and point out any errors):
1) In regards to how much salt to put in the bath. Sea water has on an average a salinity of 3.5%. A average gallon of sea water weights about 8 pounds. 3.5% of 8 pounds is 4.48 ounces. That means there is 4.48 ounces of salt in a gallon of salt water. A typical bathtub holds about 50 gallons of water. If you fill the tub half full thats 25 gallons. 25 gallons times 4.48 ounces is 112 ounces of salt. 112 ounces divided by 16 ounces per pound equals 7 pounds of salt. Thats a lot of salt. However, most places that sell sea salts for baths recommend about 2 pounds of salt for skin health soaks and one pound of salt for relaxation soaks. They also mention that once the skin condition improves just a couple of handfuls of salt will do for maintenance baths. Here is a link to one of the sites:

I you want to find out how many gallons your tub holds start your water running with the drain open and time how long it takes to fill up a gallon jug. Leave the water running at same speed and close drain. Time how long it takes to fill up the tub to desired level. Divide the time to fill tub by time to fill gallon jug to find out how many gallons.
2) A salt water bath will generally not give you have a headache or cause you to pass out. A very hot bath can give you a headache and cause you to pass out. Fortunately, if you are taking a salt bath for skin reasons you do NOT want to make the bath water hot. A hot bath will make you sweat and cause the salt not to enter the pours. A bath temperature just a degree or two above body temperature will allow your skin to soak in the salts which will allow the salt to get to the bacteria.
I have ordered some dead sea salt to help with some mild acne and a skin rash. I will let you know how it works.
Oh, I'm thrilled that I found this thread, I just started using celtic sea salt on my face at night and it seems to be working. I've been doing this for three days and discovering this thread is like a confirmation that maybe I'm not crazy 😛
Anyway, I've been putting the actual salt on my face in problem areas with cetaphil and leaving it on for about 20-30 minutes. I'm thinking about actually soaking my face.
Has anyone that has been using this method for awhile actually totally cleared up?
ok wuts up guys
i just started getting back acne like 4 months ago and tit sux ass...but when ever i go to the beach i seem to clear up my face so my face is about 99% clear from like 2 years ago and still get a few pimples hear and there but not much anyways....i am going ot use the sea salt since i live Canada and there is liek no such thing as a FREAKIN beach hear..that actaully contains sea salt
so wut i am trynig to say is this...
i will put like 30 ounces of sea salt like u said but instead of staying in there for 30min i am obviously gona stay longer sooo every hour i stay which is 3 hours i will put more sea salt..you get wut i am saying so it goes...
first hour i hav eonly 30ounces
the 2nd hour i will have 60ounces since i add more
and the 3rd hour iw ill add 30 ounces which obviously makes it 90 ounces
