I too am using the H&S with Hydrazinc with good results. So far I like it better than the Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing bar I had been using. I have been using it with the jessfoliation method and have seen some pretty drastic improvements in 24 hours. I'll keep with it and update soon.

Thanks for the heads up! After stumbling upon this thread I remembered that long ago when I used H&S for my hair, I had very little breakouts along my forehead. As for a little history, I have been on the CSR regimen for over 9 months religiously but never got where I wanted to be (quit the CSR 2 weeks ago). I found it a pain in the a$$ and time consuming applying all that crap, er I mean product on my face. I sweat very easy and there is nothing worse than gooey, shirt bleaching sweat running down your face while excercising or working.

Well, two weeks ago I started the jessfoliation technique and love the way it is smoothing out my skin. I still have been getting breakouts but think that it may be that my skin doesn't agree well with the Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing bar the Jess recommends. So I figured since I was going to change up cleansers why not give this a try. I just picked up a bottle of H&S with no conditioner and showered using the H&S with the jessfoliation technique. So far so good. I will keep updates coming in since there are not a whole lot of experices posted here as of yet. I think I am going to continue with the BP in the evenings and spot treat with Neo cream. I still am not sure about the Neo cream but it was recommended for jessfoliation so I will try it for now.

So here is the regimen I am going to work the H&S into. I'll let you know how it works out.

Mornings:

Shower, jessfoliation with H&S

Spot treat with Neo

Evenings:

Shower, jessfoliation with H&S

BP entire face

Spot treat with Neo

that's awesome, I'm glad you're giving the shampoo a go with the exfoliation, I hope it works because that would be much better and easily obtainable by ppl in different countries 😀

just fyi, unless yo'ure using the facial brush (i.e. if yo'ure using the pedicure brush or the electric toothbrush) then it's imperitive that you only exfoliate once per day, and then just wash with the H&S the other time, because if you exfoliate twice per day with anything other than a facial brush, you'll be over-exfoliating and still keep breaking out (possibly with cysts)

good luck and thanks to everyone for keeping us posted on this..I may be trying it out soon

I got a 200ml bottle of Classic Clean H&S today for AA1.67 in Boots. Gonna give it a shot as what this guy's saying makes sense to me.

I'll probably try it on a small area first to see if I break out or not, although I can't see it doing any harm as it's mild enough for everyday use and your scalp and hair are just a continuation of the skin on your face.

I dont get it man, I tried this a week ago sunday and have used it since. The first week I saw an amazing clearing of acne almost instantly, and smoother, mor even toned skin and no new acne forming. I really thought wow nothing has ever made my face look this good before. Then the end of this last weekend bad breakout. My question is how can a product work so well and then fail so badly its like nothing ever made my skin feel anbd look that good and then bam its over. However the only thing I will say its more of a questions is some of the zits that have deveopled, were zits that i know have been dormant under the skin you know when you can sort of see them and they are there for a while and then one day the become inflamed and pushed to the surface. Well since 3 or 4 of them were those is it possible that the others were the same i havnt seen and this is some kind of purging. I wouldnt expect this to cause purging but it just doesnt seem like a bad reaction due to the fact that like i said a few had been there a while just under the skin. The skin around them is still smooth and even toned. I dont know if i should keep using the product and see if i can get over this hurdle and maybe ill purge out to clear skin or if im just causing more damage each time I wash.

P.S. When I started using it I was at school and all week I was too, I didnt start noticing the breakout until I went to my gf's for easter for 4 days. Is it possible that maybe her hard water had an affect on this as when I returned to school things seem to start clearing. Its hard to believe that different water could have such an affect it just was a possibilty since the breakout coincided perfectly with me going to her house.

Very hard to say and different people will tell you different things. Personally I'd say that if you were gonna have a major break-out as a result of using the H&S it probably would have happened sooner. I once put Nicam gel on a large area of my face and broke out in the same area within two days - now I just use it on individual spots.

Back to H&S - I'd keep using it, maybe just once a day if you aren't already doing so. If you were having good results with it you will hopefully continue to do so.

Im still using it (on my back and chest) and it's amazing like nothing i have ever used before. I opted for derma doctors born to be mild wash for my face though since it's supposed to be as gentle as cetiphil, and my face has never been clearer.

Kamstan, can you keep us updated on your results with Born to be Mild? I just got mine yesterday, and it did make my face really smooth! The H&S worked for me at first, but I think something in it (possibly the dyes?) started really drying my face out so I only use it on my body now, with the BtbM on my face. I'm really hopeful. 😀

3 Days into using Head and Shoulders Classic Clean and I am seeing about 60% clearer skin. No new pimples, and my red marks seem to be fading faster. I am extreemly happy so far and hope these results continue, I'll keep you posted!

my acne condition was mild; one to two zits a week and oily skin. morning and night i would have to apply acne cream but now i no longer do that.

i started washing my face with head and shoulder for 3 weeks now and the results are incredible. my skin is incredible soft and smooth, i wouldn't expect from a shampoo but its actually the best cleanser i've used. it does not dry out your skin or irritate it. My acne is gone, sometimes i get white head but it goes away in 3 days or less.

the best part is that i no longer use any acne product and it feels great!. my regimin now is wash my face with head and shoulder and nothing else.

if you do try, make sure you get the Head and Shoulder Classic Clean without the conditioner in it. good luck and best wishes. i'm here to answer any questions.

you wash your face with head & shoulders?!?!?!?!

the thing i remember is that head & shoulders gave me cysts.

OK GUYS I GOT A RELEVATION.

I did some more research and it appears that HEad and shoulders intenive care, is better because it doesnt have zinc in in, but it does contain 1% selenium sulfide, from what i've read, this is way better.

here is an except from a medical book.

Selenium sulfide

Selenium sulfide is a complementary drug for use in rare disorders or in exceptional

circumstances

Lotion , selenium sulfide 2.5% [not included on WHO Model List]

Detergent-based suspension (Shampoo), selenium sulfide 2.5%

Uses:

pityriasis versicolor (lotion), seborrhoeic dermatitis (detergent-based suspension)

Contraindications:

children under 5 years

Precautions:

do not apply to damaged skin (risk of systemic toxicity); avoid contact with eyes; do

not use within 48 hours of applying preparations for hair colouring, straightening, or

permanent waving

Administration:

Pityriasis versicolor, apply lotion with a small amount of water to the entire affected

area and rinse off after 10 minutes, repeat once daily for 7-14 days; or apply

undiluted lotion at bedtime and rinse off the following morning, repeat after 3 and 6

days

Seborrhoeic dermatitis, massage 5-10 ml of shampoo into wet hair and leave for 2-3

minutes before rinsing thoroughly; repeat twice weekly for 2 weeks, then once weekly

for 2 weeks, thereafter only when needed

Note. To minimize absorption, rinse hair thoroughly after use and remove all traces from skin

(including nails)

Adverse effects:

local irritation, hair discoloration or loss; absorption may result in systemic toxicity

including tremors, weakness, lethargy, pain in lower abdomen, occasional vomiting

(symptoms usually resolve within 10 days)

Sodium thiosulfate

Cutaneous solution, sodium thiosulfate 15%

Uses:

pityriasis versicolor; cyanide poisoning (section 4.2.7)

Administration:

Pityriasis versicolor, apply twice daily for 4 weeks

and here is where i found that book.

[Edited link out]

i have been using head and shoulders for my dry scalp and around my forehead it has improved and i never really thought about it.

apparently the same condition that gives you a dry scalp and dandruff, may be connected to acne. Its all related to the inbalance of chemicals in the skin.

SOmeone already created a regimen that worked for them and the thread can be found here.

http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=94171

ok here is what the bottle looks like for the head and shoulders that doesnt contain zinc, but does contain selenium sulfide.

well, I just strated using renova, so I dont know if it's purging or what. I was using the born to be mild wash wich seemed to be working great untill I started the renova. So I started using the haed and shoulders again for my face because it has kept my back and chest so clear. So I'm not sure if it's the wash or just purging. But Im going back to head and shoulders for my face and am going to see what happens. Of course then my face might be done purging, who knows but thats the plan. when I clear back up I will try the born to be mild wash and see if that was the cause. BUT the HEAD and SHOULDERS rocks...Im very happy with that stuff.

I'm still using Head and Shoulders once a day with good results. I'm not sure if these are to do with me stopping using Retin-A around the same time I started using the H&S. I found the retin-a dried my skin too much and made it look far worse.

I use H&S at night then apply Dermol 500 as a moisturiser, nothing else. In the mornings I was with the Dermol 500 and apply Nicam Gel to individual spots. Nicam Gel works well to heal up spots faster - also known as Freederm.

Im still using the head and shoulders for back and chest, and it's still working. I stopped using it for my face because I found a product called born to be mild that is a really gentle cleanser with 2% zinc. But around that same time I started using renova, so I was experiencing breakouts. So I stopped the born to be mild and started using the head and shoulders along side my renova and found that is was too harsh to use with the renova (it was totally fine prior to renova and clreared me, but im using renova for scars and such)so anyways, I was extremly dry and getting like a rash so I stopped the usage of the head and shoulders on my face and am now using the born to be mild again as of last night. I think my initial purging from the renova has gone away, now I need to get rid of this rash. I will keep you updated on how the born to be mild is working out with the renova usage.
