Hey, so recently I have fallen into a weird phase in my life where I wanted to take care more of my health, since I go to the gym a lot.

Anyways I had acne since I was 15, for years it got worse and worse until it started to decrease at the age of 18, I am now 20 and still have acne but not as a bad as I had it when I was 16 and 17. Anyways I've been taking diet supplements way before I knew some of the supplements could clear up acne. I'm trying these supplements right now. Been taking them for a month so far.

Omega-3 = 1200mg / Twice a day, 2400mg

Vitamin D = 5000IU / Once a day

Vitamin A = 8000IU / Twice a day, 16000IU

Zinc = 50mg / Once a day

I have seen certain improvement, my pimples have become a lot smaller than I used to have it but it's still popping up on a daily basis. Like I get two/one pimple a week and the rate is still going, I don't see this helping me out much. I have seen some improvements but not what I expected. What should I do? Should I increase my Vitamin A or Zinc?

Should I get another supplement?

Hi there,

What else are you doing for your acne? I believe that there's more to it than taking pills. For example, do you eat a clean diet that is free of foods that you are intolerant to? Do you follow a grooming/cleansing regimen that doesn't irritate your skin?

I just found this site two days ago and started trying the regimen. As for as diet, I cut back on all dairy products, other than that I've been closely monitoring my food, still don't know what else causes the problem. I know diary products make me break out like crazy, so does Junk food and salsa. So I guess salt? Not sure still.

I know there's a lot to it, other than pills but I pretty much tried every great product with little to no results. The only thing I haven't tried is Accutane.

I'm using Neutrogena Oil free acne wash. Don't even waste my time with 3 step acne products anymore.

To learn more about healthy eating, take some time to read the Diet and Holistjc Health forum. Many people - myself included - have found that eliminating certain foods and food groups has helped minimize or clear acne. You'll see that people find success eliminating gluten, refined sugar, grains, dairy, and commercially processed foods (such as cooking oil, fast food, artificially flavored stuff, etc). For many people, consistently eating a clean diet of whole foods (veggies, quality meat, fruits) helps with acne.

Personally, I don't have anything to say about acne products. I just wash my face with plain water a few times a week and sometimes I apply a mask made of avocado fruit or honey. This works for me.

Welcome to the forum. Read as much as you can, educate yourself, and hopefully you'll find something that works for you.
