I have just ordered some alpha hydrox samples for myself. I have sun damaged skin and wrinkles around my eyes from living on the beach all my teen years and tanning everyday. I never suffered from acne, so do you think this alpha stuff will cause me to purge or anything like that? I am getting the sensitive skin samples that have 8% glycolic acid. I was thinking maybe I should have just bought the face wash instead of the leave on lotion. I will be using FOTE aloe vera and alpha hydrox sunscreen. Oh well, I guess I'll find out soon enough how it well it works. I will let you all know.

If you aren't acne prone, I doubt that you'll purge. You will notice glowing skin, though. :D I LOVE glycolic acid for my almost 40 year old skin.

Just a question for you guys, I am thinking about ordering Alpha Hydrox 10% AHA to fade acne scars and to prevent wrinkles. However, I have been on epiduo gel for over a year now, and I was wondering if the Alpha Hydrox would be okay to use in combination with BP?

Hello poordaughterhasacne! What is your update? Usually, there is no purging from alpha hydroxy acid. If you have sensitive skin, there's a product called Gentle Glycolic Cleanser from Verdure and contains 5% glycolic acid. I've used the product for several years now and it hasn't really agitated my skin. I've noticed less fine lines and more even skin tone after using it.
