Can the indentations ever be just temp?

I have dark colored, shallow indentations in many places on my cheeks where some papules were that I picked at. I shouldn't have picked, I know, but I really didn't know the damage would be like this. Are there ever any cases where indentations can be temporary and only need time to heal? I have had the indentations for maybe four or five months, and they seem to be getting smaller as time goes on.

Thanks

yup scars can heal by themselves, if they're still there after 2 years however, they're not budging without help

They can and do, yes. The very shallow ones - I've had some that healed. It can take a long time, though, and like the above poster said, if after about two years they are still there, you might be stuck with them.

not alot of treatment out there for them even if they are permanent. In the event that you do seek treatment please update on how it goes as I also have some shallow indent scars from stupidly picking my skin.

I think I'll just wait it out for another year maybe, and I'll be using the vinegar method and sudocrem at the same time. I'm hoping they continue to heal. I'll post an update at the end of August maybe, as I have read that by then the vinegar should have made a substantial or noticeable difference, especially because the scars are shallow and healing on their own. Also by then I think the sudocrem will have gotten my complexion back to normal (i.e. gotten rid of the red).

Wish me luck...

By the way...I cleared up the acne with a water method I read about somewhere on here some time back...it's very fast. Dip your head in a sink of warm water for 100 seconds in the morning and night. If it worked for me, I think it'll work for any case of moderate acne, and it has obvious benefits over topicals (no redness, drying, itching, doesn't take an hour every morning and night, and it's free).

I hope your indents went away! Did they, after all?
