Hope you had a nice holiday too! Looking forward to hearing what you think of the AHA. My boys still haven't started it.... they are very hesitant to try it because they don't know how their skin will react. They didnt want to look red and irritated for Christmas, plus weather here is so cold and dry that their skin is drier than ever. Grrrr! I think they'll just have to bite the bullet and try it soon. Their skin looks good, a few small new pimples, but ok in general. Just wish they could get to the point where they have NO new pimples. They will be at 6 weeks tomorrow.
Sorry I didn't reply for a while. Christmas and all that. Hows your skin looking at the moment? I've had a couple of active spots (pimples) break out but I'm not bothered about the active ones. Its just how red parts of my face looks, and the dryness!!! No matter how much moisturiser I apply, it doesn't seem to get rid of the flakey areas. I've seen you've found this as well.
Have you applied the AHA yet...how did it go?
MONTH 2 WEEK 2:
Breaking out a tad more... I think it's just my period wrapping up and my dry skin is still really bad. I wonder when it's supposed to go away?
It's almost ridiculous I mean my face looks amazing but the dry skin is just yuck lol. It's okay just not great! Should I just lather moisturizer on all day long when I'm home? no idea...
Have a couple actives on my lower jaw, no idea why!

Ok - My boys finally tried the AHA yesterday morning (mixed in w moisturizer) and of all weird things, had totally different reactions to it. My older son, who has more redness to his skin naturally, seemed to react really well to it. The red marks calmed down and his skin looked really good overall.
My younger son, on the other hand, who has no redness to his skin and far fewer red marks, seemed to have a bad reaction to the AHA. The couple red marks he does have flared up by the end of the day and he had an under skin bump form along his jawline, almost like a cyst. I freaked out a little because neither of my kids has ever had a cyst, and his acne has always been pretty mild. He iced it and took Advil and it went down but I'm not sure why he even had that reaction - it doesn't seem common for AHA to do that ?? Idk if it was something else that caused it but he didn't do anything else differently. Needless to say now he doesn't want to try AHA again.
Their skin is definitely dry right now but never flaky. It's more like a rough type of dryness that they get. It could be because they are using lotion-type BP instead of the gel BP (store bought). And since they don't apply it to their entire face, only cheeks and chin, they probably use about half finger length. So using less may keep their skin from getting flaky too. Alyssa, maybe try using less BP for a few days if the dryness is bad. Experimenting with the amount you use and finding the right balance may be key.
MONTH 2 WEEK 2:
So the ones on my lower jaw have finally come to a surface, they are big ones. I am not sure I got it all, since they are still sore. :/ but hoping I got them!!! My mom has complimented my face though so I am very happy about that just got to deal with the dry skin!!!
Seems like my chin is the clearest now and now my lower jaw/cheeks are the worse. Weird hahah!!! I'm doing less BP now, hoping my dry skin goes down a little, gotta experiment!

I didn't want to respond until I finished reading each post so I could catch up.
First... Thank-you for writing how Acne has affected you're life... everything you said is absolutely true and I am going through the same thing right now.. always waking up with more acne, why me? I ended up calling it my curse... every time someone tells me how bad my acne is. I just call it my curse -_-;;
I use to weight 215lbs back in June, I now weight 145lbs but I noticed that even a healthy diet didn't solve the Acne problem. I know mine is because of my parents since they both had severe acne when they were young and it seem to has been passed down to me so I know it's something in my blood or hormones. Congrats on you're weight loss and you look good =) I know the regime will work for you and I hoping it will get rid of you're acne ^__^ HOpefully it will work for me... the only thing I will only worry about will be my scars...
I order the regime on Thursday and it should be coming this Wednesday because I live in California and the place were they ship it is in S.F and that's like a 2 hour drive were I'm from so I'm happy it will arrive and I can't wait to start it.
The only question I'm wondering is when I work-out, will it affect me in anyway? hmm

I'm glad you can connect with what I was saying, I've been through a lot with acne and it's really taking a toll my self-esteem. I honestly have never found anything that's work, and I'm on month two right now and I can honestly say that my face has looked better than it has the seven years I've had acne. I'm going through a dry skin phase right now, but I'm using less treatment so I have already seen a little improvement. I live in California two, near Riverside so I usually get the shipment within 3 to 4 days depending on when and what time I order the treatments. With the working out, I work out every day, and I tried to run and do my workout DVDs before I wash my face. Dan says that if you work out after you put the treatment on your face, just let the sweat dry by itself and It should be okay. I haven't really seen any breakouts from the sweat so should be okay. Also you don't have to stick religiously to the 12 hours apart. Sometimes I go over and sometimes I go under by a couple hours. I hope to see you post here often and see how you do on the regimen, I wish you nothing but success and I hope that we both have clear skin one day. )
Also, thank you for the compliment. I spent so long battling against food, and I finally one over the war )
Thanks for the help/advice! I will definitely read all the forums plus watch the videos on how to apply the regime correctly. I will also keep a watch on you're journey =) because the way you express your self here! the full of energy of wanting to beat Acne gives me hope too! n.n!!! I can't wait to start the regime and to post before/after pics when I get the chance.
I noticed a improvement when I checked out you're pics I can't wait to see more later on.
ohh Riverside? hmm is that close to L.A? I live by the bay area in Concord.
Same here! I actually was thin and have always been in great shape.. it was when Acne hit me was when i got into a depression mood and food was the only thing that made me felt good or bad >.> hehe since it was making me gain weight Now I jog at least 2 hours every day and do weights afterwards for about 30-45 mins. My next goal is to work on my abs and start feeling much better about myself. I now have two goals! beat acne and work out to my max level!

This is what I had to do...I had to lessen my BP because my skin just got way too sensitive! I think this is a great idea!

That is really weird, but again, the treatment can trip you up sometimes! Like I hardly broke out on my jawline and always broke out on my chin and now its the opposite lol.... I'm going to try less BP hoping the dry skin goes down a little bit, I just hope that doesn't make me break out.
I hope your sun gets better with the AHA, he didn't go out in the sun did he? That might be why his skin got redder (should only be used at night or unless you stay inside all day). But mines flakey, like I pull flakes off...no fair.
>I know that this doesn't have to do with the regimen, but you're a very pretty girl and have stunning eyes
Aw, thank you so much!!
That is so sweet of you to say!
Don't worry, Alyssa...we're still gonna get the occasional nasty...it's just our bad luck with acne, ugh! My face is still pretty clear. I do have an older pimple that is purging near my nose, but it looks like it may be going back down. I hope so! My neck on the other hand...GAH! Apparently, there is a lot to purge...it just won't stop! I upped the BP in that area *fingers crossed*
The AHA will sting a bit when you first use it. But if it gets super red and starts to really burn, then you may be having a reaction to it...just a little heads up
Hope y'all had a great holiday! Here's to a new year and clear skin
Happy New Year everyone! I have been on vacation for the past two weeks and just got back home late last night. I haven't been able to be very consistent on the regimen due to all the travelling and such..so I got a few new pimples here and there but I'm feeling positive that they won't stay for too long Hope our skin will be acne free soon! - my new year and birthday wishes
MONTH TWO WEEK 2!
Face is looking pretty good the ones on my lower jaw have come to a head and are popped but are still
rather sore and large (hides away lol) but they are hopefully going away!!!
I'm sorry for not posting a lot! I recentely hurt my knee and since I'm a runner, It was impossible to run on it so
i was rather depressed. Went to docs today and he said 4 days off and the problem? I NEED NEW SHOES!
Got fitted today and got great shoes, can't wait to get started again
FACE IS still dry but not as much since i reduced BP gonna do AHA tomorrow.

So sorry about your knee Alyssa! Hopefully 4 days will go by quickly. I admire you for being so dedicated to running... I hate to exercise and wish I could motivate myself to do it regularly! I don't need to lose weight but I could def use some toning!! Lol.
Keep us posted on using less BP and how it's working out. Hopefully it will be good enough to prevent breakouts and also be less dry and flaky. Also keep us posted on the AHA and how that's working out for you.
My boys are doing ok. But they never seem to get to the point of no pimples, which is frustrating. Or one looks better while the other has a setback. So it seems like there are always some pimples that they are fighting. Could be backlash from holiday eating too. Oh well, hoping for the point of no pimples at all!!
Happy New Year to everyone!
It's all good
I hope you had a good Christmas! My skin is looking actually pretty awesome but my dry skin sucks
I feel you will the dry skin. It is just like stupid!!! idk if i should lighten up on the BP?
I tried the AHA for the first time and it really helped! burned a little but my redness went done with the first dose, no joke!
Finally some updated pictures !!! I've been so busy I'll reply to everyone's posts tomorrow! I'm headed to bed!
Today: I have a small that came to a head on my cheek as you can see in the picture, and the ones on my lower jaw are now healing and no longer sore yesssss! This is my skin an hour after my second AHA application. feeling great since I haven't work foundation in 4 weeks and only concealer.
I'm uploading pics through phone so sorry if they're angled weird!

Thank you so much....I really hope it's better for my run on Tuesday. I can hardly handle not working out at all, it makes me so itchy!!! You can do it too! You just need to find a form of it that you like. I honestly hated running but since I lost my weight, it's become a joy--because I can actually do it now!! So far, using less BP is doing great! Less flakes and not breaking out, and if i do break out they are small that come to a head quickly and heal quickly.
I know how your boys feel, i want once to have no pimples!!!! but right now i'd rather have no dry skin!
It's all good

Hope you had a great christmas and new year. Really glad to hear that your skin is doing well. I don'tthink you should lighten up on the BP as we are still technically earlyish on the regimen. But yeh dry skin sucks. I brought jojoba oil today to add that in because I haven't been doing so. Do you use this how do you... apply it/?Amazing to hear AHA had a good reaction, do you still think it is improving your marks?
I had an amazing holiday! I hope you did too I know I shouldn't lower it, but my skin is way too dry! Lowering it, still is controlling my breakouts but also it is lightening up my dry skin ":) I did the oil but it didn't really work well for me.
Yes, it is improving my marks!! It's like a miracle!!!!
It's working I see you're skin healing with less acne, I got my shipment yesterday, but I haven't had time to apply because I wanted to shave then let my skin heal for two days before I start.
I read on the paper that came with the package that it says to only use the treament BP once a day for 1st week? hmm so I should only use the regime at night for one whole week then start morning and nights on the 2nd week?
Hope you're knee recovers! Yeah lol I love running now, I just run back and forth on this path because it calms me, but now I want to tone up my body so perhaps I will reduce my jogging to 1 hour instead.
Alyssa, your latest pics look really, really great! You look like you have almost no acne! So happy for you! And glad the AHA is working out for you...my boys will eventually give that another shot.
Also, please let me know your thoughts on Dans moisturizer (I think I remember you are using that). My boys have been using store-bought moisturizer (Neutrogena Combination skin) which is one of the recommended ones, but since they were running low I ordered Dans moisturizer. The Neutrogena is ok but they complain that it tends to sting (even after weeks of using it) and their faces always look red after using it. So I'm hoping Dans is an improvement and doesn't break them out. So let me know your opinion when you get a chance. Thanks!!

Girl, you are looking fantastic! Your skin is looking awesome!
Well, the clear face for me didn't last that long, but at least it's not too bad...I've got a couple of small ones on my chin. The one by my nose is not gone, but it hasn't got any bigger either. And then there's my neck...ugh. What I'm thankful for is that it's finally all clearing out, and will will be gone...what I'm not liking is how hideous it looks, grrr...

When i got the treatment, I used a quarter size morning and night, I wanted to start fast haha. It turned out okay for me but that's up to you. I hope so too...I'm running again tomorrow morning so i'll let you know how it goes

Thank you so much girl!!! It means a lot that you would say that...I still have acne but I can honestly live with this now because DANG I feel good! My thoughts on his moisturizer is really good. I LOVE the feeling of it on my face that happens to me too though, sometimes the moisturizer still burns but that is usually because of my dry skin--which is slowly getting better too! The moisturizer doesn't break me out, it like heals my face, because moisturizer gives the skin moisture which is beneficial!

Aw, that's okay sometimes it gets good only to get bad, i try to look at it as, hey, at least its coming out now instead of later, I would rather the acne come up instead of staying under the surface. I KNOW what you mean by the neck..I have one on my lower jaw, it's like three small ones but it makes it look like one huge big one. Thank god its under my jaw, so it kinda hides it a little bit -w-

Hey no Problem
I'm not the only one on this thread that sees the difference! Glad to see you happy and cheerful.
Yeah let me know how you're running went? Is the knee still bothering you? hope not. I'm gonna start the regimen tomorrow!
I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm getting everything ready! *fingers crossed*

I think you should add the AHA too! Do you have a lot of redmarks?
I do have a lot of redmarks and they are in darker color than just red I think they are hyperpigmentation. I used AHA before and it stings on my face but it worked pretty well. I will start using it again once my active pimples are gone...
MONTH 2 Week 4:
WELL. I just got my hair done today, and my hair dresser was raving about how amazing my face looked and asked
what I was doing so she could get her niece on it!!! she said I don't even need to wear my concealer (I haven't worn foundation in four weeks!!!!!)
so this was just affirmation that it is totally working!!!
I've been really depressed lately, since my knee is not allowing me to do my favorite thing in the world: Running. I've been struggling with depression because of this, so today my mom dragged me to the casino and i forced myself to go... glad I went because I won $150!!! It really lifted my spirits and I'm getting an xray on my knee Monday hopefully so I can get an MRI, because its my tendon that hurts behind my knee. When I run it is a splitting pain behind my knee. So, hopefully it heals since I have a half marathon I have to train for in May. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated! (even silent ones!)
Also, I've now used AHA three times. Honestly no joke, my face is like HARDLY red anymore!!!! My mom even said today when we were at the Casino, she was staring at me and said, "Wow your face looks so great."
Made me happy inside. I am just so happy this is working. I no longer fear waking up and looking at myself in the mirror, i'm excited to see how much better it will look!
I hope everyone else is doing just as good!
It's working

I read on the paper that came with the package that it says to only use the treament BP once a day for 1st week? hmm so I should only use the regime at night for one whole week then start morning and nights on the 2nd week?
Hope you're knee recovers! Yeah lol I love running now, I just run back and forth on this path because it calms me, but now I want to tone up my body so perhaps I will reduce my jogging to 1 hour instead.
Thank you so much! That means the world to me that you notice my skin is better. It has plagued me for so long and it's amazing to see it finally leaving me, even if just a little!
When i got the treatment, I used a quarter size morning and night, I wanted to start fast haha. It turned out okay for me but that's up to you.
I hope so too...I'm running again tomorrow morning so i'll let you know how it goes
