WEEK 4 DAY 2:

The dryness ohhhhh maaaaaaaaa gawdddddd.

Save me.

I have a couple new pimples that formed, but I already popped them and hopefully they are healing now.

The only one that is really noticable is on my cheek, seems like my cheeks and chin are the only place that breaks out.

Oh and I got two small pimples, already popped, that formed by my nose--from blowing my nose a lot from my head cold.

& boy did popping them hurt! :'(

so yeah, dry skin is kinda forcing me to just wear concealer which is still awesome!!! biggrin.png but I seriously was wearing a black jacket today and I leaned my head on my sleeve for a second and then lifted up and the whole sleeve was full of dry flakes. oh lordy hahaha

I'm experiencing dryness and flakiness too! So far only in the problematic areas tho. I added a little bit AHA in moisturizer to put on my face before bed and that seemed help a little bit. I wonder if anyone on this site has had very effective ways to control the dryness - some research work to do tonight :)

I got three mid-sized pimples formed last night/today. I hope they go away quick.

LOL...darn them flakes, grrrr...those, too, shall pass though cool.png And I can soooo relate to them darn little zits that want to block the way to clear success! I'm having a most nasty purge underneath my chin. Luckily, you can't really see the hot mess under there. Not unless I lift my chin up for all the world to see, gah! I don't have any actives on my main face area though...here's to keeping that part in the clear surprised.gif

And here's to all of us getting in the clear soon!!wub.png

WEEK 4 DAY 2&3:

These last two days the dry skin is more manageable but I've been having small purges. They are healing by the next day and are small

but just a lot of random little ones. With makeup its virtually undetectable but without it, it's red.

The bright side, the BP doesn't burn my face and the moisturizer doesn't burn after I put it on anymore, so I'm hoping that means my face

is getting used to it?

I hope the dry skin goes away soon. I'm getting used to it now but it still would be nice to not have to pick off the flakes >_>

other random news: Signed up for my first half marathon :D

You're only supposed to add the AHA a month into the regimen, you should not be using anytime before because it is too strong on your face. That might be why you are breaking out a little more? It's only a thought :-) I wonder for the dry skin, if you just have to get used to it, as in you have to get used to the BP, because I heard youre not supposed exfoliate the skin... :'(

yes, cheer to clear skin :-) happy your face is almost completely clear, and at least you're breaking out under chin, a place that no one can really see. I'm so happy for you :-) I have small pimples that are around my face right now, but nothing bad at all :-) knock on wood

Week 4 Day 4:

Today was good. Face is looking pretty nice :D I'm still having small pimples form around my nose, and chin but

they are healing really fast. I'm actually breaking out on my forehead now..three pimples. Which is weird since I never break out there.

NOT really worried though, going back to eating perfect on Monday so i'm excited to see if there will be a HUGE difference. This whole week I've only

put concealer on and no foundation! That alone is like... amazing. I seriously leave the house now and think of this site and go, omg they would be so proud.

:')

I just can't believe how far I've come already!!! Still struggling with dry skin, but i'll get there :) I get to add AHA starting tuesday buahah!

Wow, that's so weird... my sons have had the same thing going on... breaking out in totally different spots, pimples where they never got them before. I wonder why that happens, and coincidentally around the same time. Thankfully they're small pimples and go away quickly!

My kids have now reached the 1 month mark - yay!! They both look so much better than when they started! Isn't it great how much improvement there can be in just 4 weeks?! I'm certain it will continue to get even better from here!

Dryness has calmed down a lot. Redness can still be a problem for my older son because of basketball, his face always looks so much better and less red on the days he doesn't play. Sweating = wiping face on towel or jersey = friction = irritation. Ugh... seems like no way to get around that. But redness is still better than pimples so he's ok with that!

PS - Like your new pic Alyssa!!

WEEK 4 DAY 5:

Today was an awesome day! Went shopping, got my nails done (red and green!!) and took Christmas pictures...WAIT FOR IT

WAIT FOR IT

....

WITHOUT foundation on!!!!! cheer.gifcheer.gifcheer.gifcheer.gif

Quite literally, taking pictures and walking around in public without foundation on (and just concealer dabbed on my trouble spots) is like

heaven sent. I NEVER would have guessed I could be so confident with wearing no foundation but oh my lord...the amazing feeling that my face feels

when not suffocated with foundation is miraculous. I hope this marks for more good things to come!!!

I have a new pimple that formed on the lower part of my cheek/jaw mellow.png whichhhhh is probably from laying on my stomach and resting my hand on the lower side of my face...got to kick that habit. blush.png

My face is still dry!!! yikes lol, but not as bad as before and you can hardly see it, except I still have to look at my face every couple hours or so, to release some suspending flakes hahaha.

Nothing else to really report! I signed up for two half marathons so, going back to eating healthy and working out tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll lose the weight I gained, weigh in tomorrow so kinda scared, pray for me LOL. eusa_shifty.gif

I think it's fantastic that you're doing marathons! You go, girl surprised.gif ...I'm 41, therefore, I'll abstain from the marathons, lol. But, I do like dancing a lot and yoga. Looovvvee doing stretches in the mornings, it feels wonderful grinwink.gif I have some herniated disks in my lower back, so I have to be super careful about what sort of exercises I do...

Face update: I'm 90% clear! I'm still going through a minor purge under my chin and a little on my neck. I have a small pimple near the right side of my mouth, but it is small and looks like it's going away rather quickly. The dreaded "eye pimples" have finally faded, leaving some scars, but I can live with that!

Just concealer? GIRL! That is awesome!! That has got to be such a great feeling!

Keep us updated on your marathons, Alyssa!

Very nice profile picture Alyssa! Your posts always motivate me. I should be more active and enjoy the life more lol

I was at a friend's place in NYC last weekend so I skipped the regimen for two days...and of course I got some new pimples on my cheek and jawline. Hope this week goes by quickly. If I remembered correctly, this is my third week on the regimen. Day 15? probably and things aren't really getting much better but I have hope rolleyes.gif

WEEK 4 DAY 6&7:

Today was good. Stressed out because of my math final tomorrow /: so I think that's a big reason as to why I have a breakout cyst on my chin. UGH. Oh well, I know it is from stress and me studying by putting my hand on my chin *slap that habit please* but since that is like the only really active pimple, I'm okay with that...for now. wink.png

They are not amazing differences, but I'm going to add the AHA in tomorrow night. smile.png Hoping next weeks pictures show better progress! smile.png

Most of the marks you see are red marks. /: and the right side is the after.

Woot, woot...YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!! Let me tell 'ya...there is ALWAYS that ONE pimple that has to pop up at the last minute! Grr....(I have one on the right side of my mouth, but like I said, I'm hoping that it will go away quickly)

Finals are always a major stress factor, but with the awesome results you're getting, I wouldn't worry too much about stress pimples...they'll be gone soon enough!

thanks girl. I just got back from a math final, I don't think I bombed it, but I also don't think I got an a or a B. I'm hoping I don't get too many stress pimples. Also, pimple that formed on my chin came to head this morning and I popped it! It had a lot of stuff in it LOL. So I'm hoping, it is on its way out as soon as possible. Is your pimple By your lip? Or is it more towards the bottom of the chin? The ones near the lips, tend to heal faster than the one by the chin.

Alyssa, you look great!!! I'm excited for you to try the AHA, looking forward to hearing your results. I bought an AHA for my boys to use (Alpha Hydrox Oil-Free AHA-gets good reviews on here) but so far they haven't tried it. Maybe next week, since they'll be off from school for xmas break and they won't go nuts if their skin looks red and crappy for a few days. Since it's a lightweight gel they may mix it w their moisturizer. That's probably a good way to ease into it. Right now my boys are looking good, but they always seem to have that one pimple somewhere on their face that crops up-wish they could get to the point of no pimples at all! Hopefully soon!!!

Most of the marks you see are red marks. /: and the right side is the after.

Looking good Alyssa! I always get new pimples when I'm stressed out. I have tons of examples lol...

I continuously got pimples throughout grads school cuz I was working two jobs while being a fulltime student and working one overnight shift every week but my acne that time was just moderate and I used BP now and then which helped.

Then I started breaking out madly when I started my job after grads school, I think that was due to combination of new environment and stress. I went to a derm and was told I was having severe acne. antibiotics and retin-a calmed that down with about half a year treatment. But the acne came back after I stopped taking antibiotics...it wasn't as bad as before taking antibiotics but it was still very problematic. I used many OTC stuff but nothing really helped. I got more stressed out and more new pimples came out.

Then I got a new job in great new york area and I moved up here. Between my old job and my new job, I took two months vacation to travel around and visit friends and family. My face was 90% clear at the time I finished my vacation. I wasn't taking any pills or using BP but I used facial masks. My face was clear for about three months after I started my new job. Somehow something triggered and new pimples started coming out and won't stop. More and more...first my cheek, then around my mouth, then forehead (after using BP)..thinking back, there could be many reasons that triggered it...weather was changing that time - getting colder and dryer and I wasn't applying any moisturizer..I traveled a lot during that time..I ate a lot of sweet stuff those days..I was starting my own business and was working very late every night (till 4am and woke up before 8am) after my fulltime job, that was stressful..and when I got new pimples, I couldn't stop picking them...All of those added up together resulted in a mad breakout. I can only blame myself. But lessons learned, I'm trying to have a healthier life style. Even if it didn't help with my acne, it helps with my body in the long run.

Right now, there are still many active pimples on my forehead and some on my cheek and around my mouth area. I got four pimples on my left cheek the other day but they became ripe so fast (like within two days) and I was able to pop them, now they are gone, left with red marks of course. I'm happy that the new pimples are going away much faster.

I guess I wrote too much already lol...I'm glad that I can come back here everyday to see how everyone is doing and motivate myself. :) Tomorrow is the last work day of the year for me yay! I hope everyone is having an amazing holiday season!

Your latest progress pictures look great. I'm almost on week four of the regimen. How are you finding red marks and dryness? The redness of my skin is killing me! Are you up to full fingers length of BP?

Thanks girl, that means a lot to me :) I'm very nervous about the AHA! I think I might use it on a day I don't have work...so It looks like it will be sometime next week!!! I just am scared my skin might get irritated and I don't want to work 8 hour shifts this week with an inflamed face...so i'll wait till my shorter shifts later in the week :D

That's a great idea for your sons, do it while no one can see if their skin gets aggrivated. I think I'd do the moisturizer too, maybe. I know what you mean, as soon as I'm almost clear, one pops up. I'm like WHAAAAT >:( heheh.

Oh wow that is a lot to take in . :( I'm sorry that your face just broke out like that. I can't imagine being clear for three months and then having it come back...that would be so heart wrenching. You are strong... sometimes when we move to a new place our bodies have to adjust and sometimes there are things out of our control that mess with our faces (smog, wind etc) but the fact that you keep pushing no matter what is thrown at you is very inspirational!

I know what you mean though, when I get a pimple now, it gets ripe as you say, within the next day and then heals as soon as I lather the BP over it. I'm quite amazed of how fast the BP mask (i think of it as a mask since we are lathering it all over face) dries up and heals the acne so quickly.

Are you suffering with dry skin right now?? Just curious because I still have it and want it to go away already!!! >_<

and yes happy holiday!!!!!

Your latest progress pictures look great. I'm almost on week four of the regimen. How are you finding red marks and dryness? The redness of my skin is killing me! Are you up to full fingers length of BP?

Why hello there :D

Yes, I am at a full finger length of BP. My skin is still VERY dry, I can't put foundation on, so I just put concealer (which i didn't think i could pull off but since my face is clearer i am finally free of foundation!!!!!! (liquid makeup)

The red marks are the same, they don't really seem to be going away, maybe they get a TAD lighter, but if I break out on that spot again, the redness comes back. The AHA is supposed to be used for the red marks, not the BP so I don't expect results on them until I incorporate the AHA...Which will be sometime this week. Eventually lol.

We are on the same week, around it anyways. Is your skin looking better? I hope so! :D

Month 1 day 2:

Skin is looking luminous today!!! Just in time since my boyfriend is coming over. wub.pngeusa_pray.gif

It's going to feel amazing not looking away from him wondering if my face looks bad! I'm very excited biggrin.png

My dry skin is still bad but I've developed a way to make it less noticeable. I put the lotion on, and just as it is about to dry,

and still a tad wet, I incorporate the concealer, and it doesn't give the dry skin a chance to flake. However with this method, you must check your face in an hour or two, to pull off the flakes that have formed from unintentionally touching your face or scratching an itch.

I hope everyone else is doing great!! Today honestly, If i didn't have red marks, I'd walk around with NO makeup!!! Cheers to more of this to come. amused.gifcheer.gifcheer.gif

That's totally awesome...I'm so happy for you!! I bet you look great! I think the regimen does truly great things but I also think that the more your skin clears, the happier and more confident you are... which leads to less stress, which leads to less breakouts. So it all kinda works together! hifive.gif

My boys have almost no new pimples. Just red marks. And they're really not even that dark anymore, more like pinkish marks. We'll be seeing alot of family over the holidays so I'm soooo thankful that their skin looks good! Cheers to that!

I'm excited for your boys as well :) It is totally true though, if it wasn't for the pesky red marks the skin would look amazing!

Hey Alyssa...been a few days!! The holidays always have me busy, busy, busy! No...the pimple wasn't by my lip. Just off to the side of my mouth. It is gone now! My face is CLEAR!! No actives! My neck and jawline is clearing up very nicely, but there are some undergrounds that are probably going to be surfacing and clearing soon.

I'm so glad things are going well for you! Sounds like The Regimen is working! Whooo hoo!!!

Month 2 week 2

Sorry for not posting in a while, Christmas has gotten me sooo busy with working all day and family get togethers.

My face is okay, it was clear for a while then I got my period (I get it every 3months) so my face got angry from all the hormones

and I have about 4-5 new actives. MOTHER FUDGER LOL. I have one under my nose...again... and one like on the side of my lip, that is finally

going away, that one hurt really bad everytime I smiled. I also have one on the left side of my neck, under my jawline and another one right near it.

They are healing but dang the dry skin has come back full force. :( It's upsetting that I can't even kiss my boyfriend because I wonder if any of the skin layers

are flaking off. I thought the dry skin would be gone by now but it literally is like, I rubbed my hand against my face and a douse of flakes will come falling down.

save me. lol.

Still keeping to it and going to add AHA right now for the first time. IT SAYS only at night, but since I'm staying in all day, I'm using it now. I wonder if it acts like a moisturizer too, I don't know. :/ but we will see the aftermath tonight or tomorrow lol.

I hope everyone had a great holiday!

Just put AHA on

O_O it kinda stung but I'm guessing that's because of the dry skin... Idk how much to out on so I did a fingers length...
