MONTH 2 Week 4:
WELL. I just got my hair done today, and my hair dresser was raving about how amazing my face looked and asked
what I was doing so she could get her niece on it!!!
she said I don't even need to wear my concealer (I haven't worn foundation in four weeks!!!!!)
so this was just affirmation that it is totally working!!!
I've been really depressed lately, since my knee is not allowing me to do my favorite thing in the world: Running. I've been struggling with depression because of this, so today my mom dragged me to the casino and i forced myself to go... glad I went because I won $150!!! It really lifted my spirits and I'm getting an xray on my knee Monday hopefully so I can get an MRI, because its my tendon that hurts behind my knee. When I run it is a splitting pain behind my knee. So, hopefully it heals since I have a half marathon I have to train for in May. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated! (even silent ones!)
Also, I've now used AHA three times. Honestly no joke, my face is like HARDLY red anymore!!!! My mom even said today when we were at the Casino, she was staring at me and said, "Wow your face looks so great."
Made me happy inside. I am just so happy this is working. I no longer fear waking up and looking at myself in the mirror, i'm excited to see how much better it will look!
I hope everyone else is doing just as good!
It's working
I see you're skin healing with less acne, I got my shipment yesterday, but I haven't had time to apply because I wanted to shave then let my skin heal for two days before I start.
I read on the paper that came with the package that it says to only use the treament BP once a day for 1st week? hmm so I should only use the regime at night for one whole week then start morning and nights on the 2nd week?
Hope you're knee recovers! Yeah lol I love running now, I just run back and forth on this path because it calms me, but now I want to tone up my body so perhaps I will reduce my jogging to 1 hour instead.
Thank you so much! That means the world to me that you notice my skin is better. It has plagued me for so long and it's amazing to see it finally leaving me, even if just a little!
When i got the treatment, I used a quarter size morning and night, I wanted to start fast haha. It turned out okay for me but that's up to you.
I hope so too...I'm running again tomorrow morning so i'll let you know how it goes
Hey no Problem
I'm not the only one on this thread that sees the difference! Glad to see you happy and cheerful.
Yeah let me know how you're running went? Is the knee still bothering you? hope not. I'm gonna start the regimen tomorrow!
I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm getting everything ready! *fingers crossed*
How is the Regimen doing for you?
don't be nervous, be excited!! change is coming!!!!
and it went great, until I over did it and went to the gym at the same day...
now it won't even let me run past a mile. I've been really depressed, but trying really hard to pull myself out of it. Since running is everything to me, if i can't run, it literally feels like my life is over.
It's only been 4 days so of course I won't see any improvement just yet so I'm not freaking out xD still I love using the regimen because it's not making my face burn or itch and I've only been doing the morning regimen so that my skin will get use to the BP. I can't wait to start using it day and nights next tuesday soooo far so good ^o^!!
I know what you mean about having a accident like that and not being able to do what you love to do, it gets frustrating and wish the pain would just go away. I had a similar back pain a while back when I was lifting weights... I felt like this back pain would never relive itself until I started using icy hot patches so perhaps that might work? or you can go to the doctors so they can give you pills to heal the pain that's causing you're knee to spaz out like that. I'm praying for you that it heals soon >__<!! and you can run again. Also I'm happy you are receiving all these great comments about you're face!! Trust me! we really see the improvement and it's great when people actually say "wow, you're face is getting better or looking clean" it's a good heart feeling moment.
Alyssa, I'll say a prayer that your knee gets better soon. Its good that you're getting it checked out further so you know exactly what's going on and you don't injure it worse. For now, if you can't run, try to fill that time with other things you enjoy to keep your mind off it. And try not to stress about it. I'm hoping everything will turn out fine!
I'm really glad your skin is doing well. That's definitely something to be happy about. Has the AHA helped with the red marks or redness overall? My older son has quite a few leftover red marks that I think the AHA would help with, however he still has an overall red tinge to his face that I think the AHA might exacerbate. I really don't want to irritate his skin further so not sure what to do ?? We are still waiting for Dans moisturizer to get here (slow shipping from west coast to east coast) so I'm hoping that will help with redness too.
Both my kids had been looking good this week, but today they both woke up with a new pimple on their cheek. So frustrating, because as soon as you think you're in the clear it seems like another step backward. I would have thought by 8 weeks they wouldn't still be getting new pimples. Aaargh!!!

It's okay because, even when we get a new pimple form, it is usually gone within a day or two. I felt one pop up this morning and already popped it two hours ago. I noticed that if we do get an active, they are gone fairly quickly! I've been breaking out on my forehead, small ones, but still so weird since I almost NEVER break out on my forehead, yet now on my chin where I ALWAYS used to have actives, I have like 1 or none! So weird ahha.
For the AHA, It's helped with overall redness to my face+the redness on the actual actives. It stings for five minutes but after that, it's all fine.
&thank you for the advice and prayer on my knee...I'm honestly trying not to stuff my face with food, in self-pity, because If I can't workout that means I'm not 100% in, and my mind says, what the heck you might as well eat what you want.
I'm messed up. LOL.

Yes, I didn't really see any improvement until I was on the second week. Like REALLY saw anything.
I've been actually using the icyhot patches!!!! Funny you should mention that! I tried the medicated sleeve to go around my knee, but it actually made my muscles really sore around my knee (quad) so I returned those and just got the regular patches--which, don't hurt my muscles. I just really want this to get better because I can't do ANY working out since it's prob a tendon. No working out if I want to run anytime soon...so since I can't workout at ALL, it's like my whole world has gone to hell and I just am struggling with not eating everything in my self-pity. I need to be into something 100% or my mind says, screw it, you aren't losing weight or toning or running, so you might as well eat--i substituted the high i get from eating yummy food with running, and now that I can't run... where is it coming from now? ugh
MONTH 2 WEEK 4:
Today, I woke up with an active pimple on my forehead and one that was starting just under my lip (ouch!) thankfully, I got forehead popped this morning, and the other one came to a head tonight and they are both on their way to healing! I love this regimen because even if I get a pimple, it is gone within a day (unless they are massive ones!). The little cluster of pimples just under my jaw is still there but FINALLY have not come to a head anymore, and are itching like crazy which means they are drying out. They are no longer raised, and should be gone within the next day. FINALLYYYYY Gonna use AHA tonight, so, hoping to see better improvement tomorrow morning.
My knee is also not any better, BUT I'm going to get an XRAY done tomorrow, so, that is just one step down to get my MRI. I know the xray won't show anything since it's a tendon i'm sure, and not bone since well, I can walk and move around without it hurting. The ache is behind my knee, but ONLY when I run which is weird. I don't know if it's runners knee, which is an overused injury, because i've taken 7 days off and still, I'll run and BAM it'll come back within a mile of running. Hopefully I CAN get an MRI sometime in the next week or so. I really need this to be healed so I can train for my half...which I already paid for.
I am sooooo happy for you Alyssa!! It's so liberating to be without those pesky face demons! And it's just awesome that so many people are noticing! I'm so, so happy for you!
Like you, I am 99% clear! I have the one zit by my nose that came to a head and is now healing. I'm still having some issue with my neck and under my chin. But those breakouts are hardly noticeable and can easily be concealed
I will be praying for you sweetie...I know how it feels to have a bad knee! And...a bad back, shoulders, wrists...lol. I have a disease that messes up my joints aannddd....I'm 41, lol.
I'm just tickled that you are clearing up so well! Woot, woot!
Starting My Second Week Today! I can finally put the BP day and night and increase the usage I have seen a bit of improvement which is good not bad cause little improvement is better than none.
So the bone is not damage so it must be a loose muscle that's really sore and wiil take a long time to heal hmm let's see what the Mri has to say. Oh if you're going to eat lots then eat lots of apples and oranges and instead of chips, eat Raisins or Baby Carrots that's what I do when I can't work out cause it's freezing outside or I'm out of time.
MONTH 2 WEEK 4:
Today is good. I don't really worry about my face anymore, it's honestly the last of my worries ever since my knee has been hurting me. I have been advised by running friends to be off for three weeks. Just the thought of that makes me cringe. UGHHH. I want to run away and hide because I really need to train for my half marathon in May. I know that's still a long ways away but it takes two months to train for.
okay back to acne stuff...
Got two more pimples on my forehead, but they are already healing now. I also got a small active on the side of my cheek, but its popped and hopefully on its way out. I applied the AHA tonight, and my skin is slightly burning but its kinda nice sensation haha, makes me feel like its working.
It's nice that I don't really worry too much about makeup. When I used to put makeup on, foundation, concealer, powder it would take me 20 minutes, now it takes me, for makeup alone, 5 minutes, because I only use concealer and powder also, the acne on my lower jaw is finally almost gone!! yes!
I got my xray done yesterday, so waiting to hear back from doc so I can go in for an app and hopefully get an MRI and a referral to a PT.

I dont know why, but this gave me a lot of hope. I saw the video and its like a light at the end of the tunnel. Seems pretty easy and sounds like it should work. Ever since my freshman year in HS i began getting acne. At first it was like, "oh okay doesnt seem too bad." Now im a senior, its gotten much worse and i laugh at how clear my skin used to be, oh yeah, and thanks to my acne, ive just naturally always felt like every girl is way above my league so i havent had a girlfriend since freshman year, but thats a whole nother story. Im going to start a strict regimen like the video said, i dont know why, i just feel like this HAS to work.
Good luck to you and i hope it works for me too!
Just wanted to post a picture of my face!!!! Only wearing concealer, but as you can see it's not going to be needed soon!!!!
Wow ^_______________________________________________________________________^ amazing!!! Beautiful!
Hang in there on the leg, I was also going to suggest taking a long resting period, but I also didn't want to take you're enjoyment out by writing it ;; Rest and Patience like you said will be worth it in the end!
Yep ^__^ I'm starting to feel my skin heal, I know it's working cause People aren't staring at me like 24/7 and picking at their own face when they see my face >_> Ugh always hated that xD I honestly felt like punching them xD but I just know it's my condition to deal with, it's not their fault...I will post some before and after photos too, I don't know if i can right here or make my own post... I'll let you decide alyssa

Aw, thank you so much!!!! 🙂
That's the thing...I have not patience. LOL. But knowing i have to be off till the 1st...a whole month, i know every day i'm off of my leg, brings me one day closer to when I can run again. IT'S just hard to not stuff my face with food, I have to find a medium.
OMG I know what you mean! When everyone stares. I used to get that all the time. Idk if I was just paranoid, but every time someone would look at me longer than a couple seconds, I always thought they were looking at my acne.
OMG GUYS.
THIS IS MONTH 3!!!!!!!!! How has it been this fast already?! I don't know, wow time flies by.
My face is pretty much clear now, all I have to work on is my red marks I knew this regimen was different, when I was totally out of ideas, hope and will, I came across this website and it has totally changed my life. I hope only more things will come.
*throws confetti* I haven't worn foundation in over a month! Only concealer, for the red marks, and it seems like every time I add the AHA it gets even better! I struggle and fight to not use that AHA every day hahah! Will be uploading new pics in my gallery soon! Also, update on my dry skin: It is SOOO much better, i'd say, by lowering the BP amount, my dry skin is now 95% controlled!!! I still get random flakes every day, but I now don't have to check my face every hour or after I eat to pluck off any falling ones.
GIRL!!!!!! I'm sooooo happy for you!!!!!! YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!!! Isn't it wonderful to not have to spend countless minutes (or hours, lol) in front of the mirror, hiding all the nasty spots?! I love the feeling as well...as all I need to do nowadays is just a a bit of mineral powder! Yay!!
Oh! Regarding your question about my joints and workouts...I can't do anything too drastic, but I love dancing and yoga. And I would also like to start walking. If I have the right shoes, walking is a real good way for me to workout. If I don't have the correct shoes, my back and hips will start hurting pretty bad. I have Marfan's Syndrome as do my boys (it's genetic). My boys have more of the physical aspects of the disease ( Very tall, long, dangly arms, double jointed, awful eyesight, concave chests...they do have some joint issues as well) I have more of the internal (joints and minor heart issues-though I am rather tall-5'9, long arms, fingers, very thin and my eyesight kinda stinks, lol.
Anyhoo....so glad this regimen worked for you!!! You look WONDERFUL!!!
Hi Alyssa - and everyone else,
It's been awhile since I posted on here because the past week has been pretty awful for my older son and his acne. I've been feeling so bad that I really didn't want to come on here and bring everyone down. Alyssa, your latest pics look soooo good and I couldn't be happier for you-you truly look like you have NO acne. Just awesome!
I so wish I had good things to report but it's been bad here. Dans moisturizer has been a DISASTER. Heres the deal... We received it last week and my boys started using it right away. The first day or two my older son seemed to have a nice pink glow to his skin and looked really good, but as the days went by, the more he used it the more red his skin got. And he said it was stinging a lot. At first the redness and burning would subside, but by the fourth day (Sunday) the redness was so bad he looked like he had had a chemical peel. It was awful! That was the last day we used it and I thought the worst of it was over. Well.... two days later he started breaking out in huge red pimples all over his face - 2 on his chin, 1 huge one on his cheek, 2 next to his nose. He honestly looks worse than ever. He took a break from twice a day BP to just spot treating in order to give his skin a chance to recover. The redness and dryness was horrible and the pimples are much bigger than anything he's had recently and they are not going away quickly. Today he tried to ease back into 2x a day but using much less BP.
So... I'm at my wits end and very upset because I have no idea why he had such a bad reaction and now I don't even know what to do to make the aftermath better. I've searched on here and many people have had bad reactions to Dans moisturizer but I have no idea what's causing it. I may start a thread to see if anyone can give me guidance.
Anyhow.... Very sorry to be so depressing.... Just wishing this would get better!!

Ive been reading this thread a little and i feel like i may help a little if at all. I know what its like to have ups and downs with treatment, one day you look great, and the next you look worse for no reason. I think you should stop using Dans moisturizer and return it, its obviously not working, just making things much worse for whatever reason. Next, if he can now handle BP twice a day, do that, then moisturize with something else, a moisturizer that specifically says for sensitive skin- i highly recommend Olay Sensitive Moisture Therapy Lotion, using it right now and have had no problems, rolls on very easy, totally clear, eases redness and irritation, not greasy, doesnt dry out in the middle of the day, i just love it, and it also helps fade acne scars and even skin tone. For individual pimples, apply a tiny bit more bp on them, let it dry, and then apply some AHA+ on top of them. After maybe two to four weeks and he can handle BP twice a day, use the AHA+ for the entire face as directed here. Especially make sure to use moisturizer with sunblock when using AHA, or his face will get badly burned, and even more red and painful than it must be right now. You can see here how to use sunscreen with The Regimen- 1/4 sunblock (non-comedogenic) mixed with 3/4 regular moisturizer.
Hope i help at all. Good luck!
Month Three Week 1-2:
Face is getting dry again, and I'm having more breakouts than I would like...
I think it was from eating horrible food last week. Not quite sure!
For some reason the last week I've been upping my treatment for no reason,
didn't really even think about it, and haven't been using lots of moisturizer.
So, making a conscious effort to get less treatment on face and more lotion to combat the allegiance of
dry skin and breakouts,.XD I have a couple deep ones I can feel right now..which, come to think of it,
might be caused from stress because I am literally drowning in my chem class and it's only been two lectures/labs. -_-
My breakout is still NOWHERE near the breakouts I would usually get. So, I'm happy about that!

I'm so sorry that is happening to your boys I know when I applied the lotion it burned the first week, then it went away, I think its just the lotion getting used to the treatment on the on the skin!! Just don't give up
I am breaking out again too, but I know it won't be for a long time, I'm sure there is some factor--pretty sure stress--so I'm trying to think positive! just keep your head up! and never worry about posting your feelings because I know how it feels!

Good luck!
Thanks for the tips! My son has definitely given up Dans moisturizer, I just wish we knew what ingredient irritated his skin so badly so we know to avoid it in the future. Not sure if it was the jojoba oil, licorice root, who knows ?? But it was no ordinary redness and stinging, it was waaaay worse than that. And the big pimples that followed seemed to be all due to the extreme irritation. His skin still doesn't look great one week later, but it is getting better. He's hardly used any BP at all in the past few days and gone back to his original Neutrogena Combination Skin moisturizer (not perfect but at least we know there won't be any reactions). So one day at a time for now.
Good luck to you on the regimen!

I'm so sorry that is happening to your boys
I know when I applied the lotion it burned the first week, then it went away, I think its just the lotion getting used to the treatment on the on the skin!! Just don't give up
I am breaking out again too, but I know it won't be for a long time, I'm sure there is some factor--pretty sure stress--so I'm trying to think positive! just keep your head up! and never worry about posting your feelings because I know how it feels!
Thanks for your well wishes Alyssa! I'm trying to stay positive for my son's sake but I know he's been really upset about how his skin looks. He definitely had some type of allergic reaction to an ingredient in Dans moisturizer but don't know what ?? The Neutrogena moisturizer that he had been using always left some redness, but this reaction was way over the top, and then the huge pimples he got in the days following were way worse than ordinary pimples. Literally the worst breakout he's ever had!
So it's just very depressing that 9 weeks on the regimen got undone and I feel like we are almost back to square one. BP has been too harsh in the past week so he's used very little of it, even washing his face has irritated it. So right now he is doing almost nothing, and will probably do just once a day BP when his skin calms down. We may even stick with just once a day BP for the rest of the winter, it's brutally cold here in NY and temps are under 20 degrees so the cold and constant dry heat indoors are wreaking havoc on skin. You are soooo lucky to be from CA, I'd kill to have your climate!! Lol.
So I'm hoping your skin is doing well and you're not getting any new breakouts and hopefully we'll get back on track here!! And how's your knee doing? Hopefully all is well with that! Let us know.

I just really hope his face gets better, it makes me so sad to read this Just give his face some time, it'll calm down, and hopefully the weather will too!!
As for my knee, I have taken four weeks off. Saturday is the day I run again for the first time since my injury. It'll only be for 15 minutes, but the goal is to experience no pain, so any prayers are accepted with open arms!!! I'm really nervous about it! I think, what If i took off all this time, and it still hurts? ughh lol
Hey Alyssa... Glad to hear you can start running again, and I hope running on your knee is problem-free!! I'll say a prayer for you! Let us know how you make out.
How is your skin doing? Your last pics were really good so I hope everything is still positive!!
My son's face calmed down this week. Finally. His face is starting to look good again and all the redness and new pimples are gone. Just red marks now that will have to fade but that's better than zits! I honestly think his skin has no more new zits to push up... they all came up last week and now there's nothing left thank God-lol! Hoping it stays good!
And both my sons are doing the regimen just once a day at night now. Even my younger son who isn't prone to redness was getting irritated with 2x a day and the freezing temps and dry weather. Irritation seems to cause new pimples for my kids. So for now we will stick with once a day and hope that works.
Hope all is well!
Sooooooo, my face is still looking pretty good Just have a couple breakouts but I assume that has only occured
because of the stress I feel over my Chemistry class. I swear she goes over so much and its so overwhelming! But
I'm trying and won't give up!
I have a blemish on my lip, literally right under it and it HURTS so bad, I can literally FEEL the pulse lol... but I GOT IT TONIGHT
so hopefully it'll be gone tomorrow
as for my run...it didn't go well. Will be going back to doc for an MRI. I am so stressed out about Chem I don't have time to worry about my leg.
And that's saying a lot~!!!
I'll try to check in a couple times a week, its just after this semester has started, its so hard to find time.
Right now I have about three actives, but all popped and hopefully on their way out. Still not wearing foundation so that's still a plus
"but I GOT IT TONIGHT
so hopefully it'll be gone tomorrow "
"Right now I have about three actives, but all popped and hopefully on their way out."
(sorry, wont let me properly quote posts right now, idk why)
What do you do to make your active acne go away so fast? You said you can make the one you got "tonight" be gone "tomorrow," how do you kill them so fast!? Takes me like multiple days to lose active acne. Please reply!
Hey Alyssa! So glad things are still going well for you...I know how it feels about the "1 step forward, 3 steps back" when it comes to acne. I wore some Ready Foundation from Bare Minerals all last week and ended up with a few breakouts....no more of that stuff, for sure.
So sorry to hear about your run and your knee. I hope you find a good treatment so you can get back to doing what you enjoy!
