My mother has been encouraging me to use urine on my face for a long time. She's one of the people who believes that it cures all diseases.

Here are some uses of urine which work based on my own experience (even though I've not tried it for acne)

1. Burns. If you burn your finger and it hurts, piss on it, and the burn will be gone very fast.

2. Fever. I don't know how the hell this works, but if you have a high fever, rub a bunch of urine into the soles of your feet. Tried it many times, and it works. I don't know why.

All joking aside,

I don't really have that much acne, but I used to have really oily skin that caused clogged pores and blackheads. I posted awhile ago about zinc tablets, but I think urine is the best thing have tired to date, and have been using it for several weeks after reading about it on another forum. I'm not talking about drinking urine, because that's a bit too hardcore for me.

I just have some urine in an old oxy pads container that I put some cotton pads and cologne in. It doesn't smell because I put the cologne in it, and I put it on after taking a shower or washing my face. I've also been using all natural soap. Between the two it creates some kind of natural barrier, and my skin doesn't pump out all the oil that it did before. I thought I had genetically oilly skin, but now I think I was wrong, and I just had the symptoms of genetically oily skin because I did not ever use the proper cleansing routine.

I think if you start using urine you won't even feel the need to use BP anymore, which for me never stopped oil that well anyway. It should also be noted that I smoke and have been drinking pop, beer, and eating total garbage lately and urine keeps my skin from getting oily. My skin tone has really improved lately.

I know it sounds gross as hell and stupid, I just wish I had figured it out 10 years ago. There is more to health and wellness than buying something at the store.

I hate to admit I've tried something so drastic, but if it helps someone else, and their self image, then it was worth it. I can be a bastard sometimes, but feeling like crap because you don't like the way you look is something that I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

did you use moisturizer on top of BP? because moisturizer makes my skin really oily, but when I don't use it, it's not oily. Maybe it's not the urine, but just the natural state of your skin - the fact that you're not using moisturizer.

I'm going to give it a try, when I was young, my mom adviced me to put urine soaked cloth on my eye when I got conjuvitis(sp?), it was gone in the morning.

threads like this are REALLY REALLY sad. One of the reasons i dont post much here anymore is because people want a magic long lasting quick fix and there is no healthy form of it. It takes tame, read my threads for an answer to acne.

It takes *time* and yes, how nice of you to do to another person's thread exactly what you hate having done in yours - putting the treatment down and then using it as a cheap plug for your regimen.

I dont really think its that gross. It wouldnt hurt to try it. It is sad we would try such things. Chronic health problems (of whatever type) are sad. They make us so desperate. I feel sad for any of us having to go through this.

If it really works for conjunctivitis (eye infection), that would be awesome. I have never had an eye infection in my life, but next time I see somebody with one, I am gonna tell them to put some pee in their eye.

I totally agree. It sucks that people have to go to such lengths to try and help themselves, and most of the time it doesn't even help.

It would be hard to test to see if it works. Someone would have to do this treatment and ONLY this treatment, otherwise it could be something else.

Well I am glad you all are having good results with it. that said, it's not for me. At all. I don't want my urine on me. I want it OUT of me and gone.

It is my opinion, acne is a sign there is something wrong with the BODY not just the skin. "Fix" the problem with the body = get rid of acne. Focusing on the body instead of the skin is so much easier, at least in my experience - starting with maybe some light colon cleansing, eating more vegetables, de-stressing and getting sleep (things that can only be good for you, regardless of skin problems or not.) I think maybe 1 or 2 topicals could help with this too, in moderation - currently, I'm using a retinoid at night, but I've been skipping many many days lately and I am still not breaking out.

So if putting urine on your face is working, good for you and be VERY careful who you talk to about it. Because you gotta admit - it is one of the weirder things out there....

Well done for trying this out, Jackson. If my next set of topicals doesn't work, I might even give this a go. Hell, nothing else has worked. Please post back with further feedback: I really want to hear about your progress.

Im hesitant about it just because I feel anything leaving the body is a waste product and is leaving for a reason. That said, Im not saying it might not work, I just dont know how good of an idea it would be. Wouldnt it also very much depend on what you have been putting in your body? Certain traces of herbs, drugs, etc. MIght result in a waste that would not be good for the skin.

I just want to share a recent experience I had with my urine, not using it for therapy, but a reason why I would never.

I had to dissect a fetal pig in bio lab from 8-11AM. I couldn't drink that whole time, but I drank a good amount of water and juice for breakfast, and I had to pee around 10AM. No problem there. At 11:30, I had to pee again, after having only a sip of water in the previous 90 minutes.

My pee smelled as strongly of formaldehyde as the air in that lab room had. My body was getting rid of it that fast, just what I had breathed in (while covering my face with a bandana no less). The urinary system does remove wastes, and I feel like I wouldn't want to subject my face to all of that.

its the urea its beneficial for the skin, they make ointments with this stuff in it, so there is no reason to use actual piss.

I hear that urine therapy is beneficial b/c it contains natural anitfungals. I'm not going to lie and say that I never use urine based on beauty treamtments b/c Ive used urine of my face a couple of times with successful results. I use to have small bumps..not acne....heat bumps. I will apply urine to my face and they slowly disappeared with my diet as well.

I dont do that anymore and I havent had a bump since. I wash my face with only OATMEAL from stores. I get the box of package oatmeals, use a little bit of water, lather, scrub and rinse. Then Ill put either small small dime size of olive oil or coconut oil. Thats it!!

Hi all,

I just want to tell everyone that I started trying this about a week ago and have had great results. I have started breaking out some in the last day, especially on my neck, but I think this is b/c of my upcoming monthly cycle. Even new zits and the big hurtful kind heal much more quickly though with this. I am 23 and have had acne for 12 years so I know this isn't just a fluke.

It is also all I am using (someone expressed concern about people trying many things). I decided to get off BP about a month ago b/c I was still breaking out some, and I heard it is really bad for your skin. I unsuccessfully tried a no BP/SA regime on this site of specific cleansers and moisturizers, but my skin just got worse and worse until I finally got back on the site and found this.

Anyways, I heard of this all at first from JenMyMy's thread. She has been really wonderful about staying active with it and checking up on her new followers :-P. When I started I promised to take pictures and now that it has been a week I posted pictures on her thread. They are not approved yet but they are posted. Don't bother going to Jen's thread if you just want to say mean stuff, we've already heard it. I am posting here because it seems mostly positive.

http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php...t&p=2105122

It has not only helped my zits but has really made my skin a lot smoother especially on my forehead which was very rough when I started.

I will continue to post pictures in the future until when/if I am all clear. It's risky but so many ppl are skeptical and now, after educating myself, i don't think it is gross anyway.
