Well it didn't give just him bad results. You're the only one here that hasn't got hair loss (yet) from it. Everyone else here has gotten this side effect from it so there's a pretty good chance megadosing B5 and hairloss are linked.

But you can risk it if you want, it's your body after all.

Have the people so far that reported hair loss, did this occur even while taking the remedy discussed here Cysteine/nac??

If you have read this forum from the beginning.

I must admit only 2people have experienced the results of the b5/nac combo & reported positive results, which is not much to go by,

I myself have been on this treatment but it is much too early to report, I have made an earliear report with no result from 1.5grams of b5 daily

& now have increased my dosage to 3grams & awaiting 3weeks to report results....it has been 12days & so far I must admit my skin looks some

what calmer but still with occasional breakout.

What ever the outcome I will not continue on a high dosage (5grams is my maximum) for longer then 3 months before tapering down to a maintenance dose.

In my opinion, 7months of mega dosing on b5 is much too long for any body to tolerate with the reported negative results so far.

I think with caustion & extensive revision this b5 experiment can be tested without too much negativity experienced.

So far I have not read any one that has proceeded this way to have any negative results, If there is please don't hesitate to let the rest of us know

DON'T TAKE B5 it fucked my life up my hair is really really thin now I may have to shave it all off, except for the op know one else has found a cure out of hundreds of people. Don't take anymore than 1.5 if you really do want to take it

I wouldn't take B5 at any dose higher than .5 grams per day. A girl on another forum said she lost her hair by using 1 gram a day and it never grew back.

It ruined my hair. Still looking for a cure. I am going to book a doctors apt and get tests done on thyroid/ hormones.

I meant to mention this earlier but I have been on Propecia (Finasteride) and Rogain for 6 months and I am still shedding like crazy and it has not slowed down...

Mate I was the same I took about 6 grams for about 7 months and then it began and it hasn't stopped since and I havnt taken b5 for about 8 months now, 9 grams is way too much man ur just messing yourself up but it's your choice at the end of the day

Cheers. Glad I found this forum. I guess I'll cut it out completely. Not worth the risk in my opinion. Have to find something else to help with the acne I guess. Thanks a million guys!

Try msm powder for acne that's what I've been using and I find it pretty good, also get some real African black soap form eBay or somewhere that also helps.

Also I would like to mention for those experiencing massive hairloss to read up on miconazole nitrate.

There are extensive forums & rave's about how it's regrowing bald patches, Filling in thin hair, & increasing the speed of hair growth.

If your at your wits end this is possibly something you may wanto try.

I myself am experimenting with this on a patch of hair on my head for a 1 month to see if there's any postive results,

I will report either way, but please don't hesitate to read up on this yourself, there a literally hundreds of pages to read on so many

people have tested in many different ways.

Hope this helps some of you :)

I think the reason I cleared up when I first started taking B5 was because I dropped all my other supplements to do so. Now that I've dropped B5 too, and am taking nothing but an anti-histamine, my skin is getting clearer than ever.

what kind of anti-histamine are you taking?? Is it for hives? I was taking sodium chloride drops for allergies but they stopped working

Hello Adrien & welcome, I'm also quite new to this forum

I'm very fascinated by your research & choices of dosage.

May I ask...

Why did you choose the 2:1 reatio in regards to taking more cysteine/nac then b5?

This forum mostly discusses a 1:2 ratio, which is what I have been following.

Also

What is your opinion on the absorption of L cysteine to NAC?

As with the research I've done I've come to the conclusion that NAC is the best form to take, the least toxic, & the most binding,

I have attatched this info in previous quotes written in this forum.

And finally..

Since you discussed magnesium as also being depleted while dosing on b5,

why have you not included it in your regime?

Oh & if you could please include the sources/links of you research,

would love to read into them myself.

Especially in regards to the doses of calcium depleting magnesium

as im taking high doses of calcium ascorbate along with the b5,

but I've also recently included magnesium ascorbate, but wasn't planing on staying on it long

Hello Mis911,
Thanks for your welcoming and for your interest in my post.
I chose the 2:1 cysteine/vit b5 ratio to avoid cysteine depletion by Panthotenic Acid.
From what I read NAC is better absorbed, but nearly all the posts I found about cysteine supplementation with vit b5 didn't talked about NAC.
I forgot to say that I'm taking 600 mg magnesium and a b-complex everyday.
Sorry I haven't kept the links, but if you want to find info about calcium/magnesium I would recommend you to look into some paleo websites like paleohacks.
May I ask how much calcium you are taking?
Sincerely,
Adrien

Would you mind directing me to the posts discussing cysteine supplementation with vitamin b5?
I wasn't aware there was other one's besides this one.
I am taking calcium in the form of calcium ascorbate, I take around 6grams twice daily the equivelant of calcium amount to that would be approx 600mg twice daily

Correction:

I recently lowered my dose of calcium ascorbate to 3grams once a day, calcium equivalent 300mg.

I also take magnesium ascorbate 3grams twice daily

B multivitamin

& a variety of other vitamins, minerals & amino acids

Hello Blue09 and pjjordan,
Thank you for your warning about Pantothenic Acid megadosage.
I'm truly sorry to hear about your hair loss and I hope you will find a way to tacke this problem very soon.
I'm taking 1 g Calcium Pantothenate along with 1,5 g L-Cysteine and 1 g NAC since 2 days.
Because of your warning I'm considering lower my dosage to 0.5 g Calcium Pantothnate or Pantethine.
May I ask if you guys were taking L-cysteine or NAC while taking Pantothenic Acid? And also have you tried after taking Pantothenic Acid?
@ pjjordan : May you please give me the link about the girl who lost her hair on 1 g if you still have it? Thanks
Sincerely,
Adrien

Should arrive today!

I messaged a member of the Forum Chillman266. He experienced hairloss on B5 and cured it as well. Here was his message to me:

"Sup, vitamin b5 by itself caused tons of harloss shedding for me I was taking 3g a day. My shedding stopped when I started taking acetyl l-carnitnie, I took 500mg a day, in two pills with my b5 pills, l-carnitine works too. The science behind it is that l-carninte makes the vitamin b5 less toxic by making it more bioavailable. my hair regrew although, it's very slightly less thick than before, I would take that over having cysts.

Here is what im taking right now

source naturals lcarnitine 250mg and vitamin b5 500mg once in the morning, at lunch, and at dinner. Still have minor acne but have not had a cyst since I started taking it 3 months ago.

Look up wingedserpents post about vegatable juice+b5+l-carnitine don't have the link but it's a big thread with the same info just more indepth."

I haven't had a chance to read through wingedserpents thread but I think this is the link:
