With MPB you do not lose hair from the back and sides of the head yet I've lost lots of hair from the sides and back. Plus hairfall from MPB doesn't have the little club on the end like I have. Ahhhhh I just don't understand this shit. 5 years still no cure, read another thread today saying they've tried propecia and rogaine which did nothing for them.

Can you link the thread here or in PM, I am interested in talking with them. Sorry about your hair loss, I only have hair loss on the top, in my crown and temples.
I understand the megadose b5 can cause shedding but what about a conservative dose like 500mg/day for adrenal support?
NO NEVER RUN FROM B5.
Dosing range= 5-10mg.
500mg is 50 times the recommended dose.
NOT conservative at all

post 884- "Just got back from the endocrinologist. They are going to test my thyroid levels on Wednesday. I will let you know the results.
Regarding the Adrenal gland, I spoke with her and she said the adrenal gland is very rarely disrupted and you would know if it was. She said you would be sick, nauseated, and vomiting, in addition to being fatigued. I will try to get tested Wednesday for the adrenal, but she seemed convinced I would have much worse symptoms if my adrenal was imbalanced and it would be obvious. "
The adrenal gland needs no support.

me- 27 year old white female who took 6-7 G of b5 for just under two weeks before I experienced hair loss. I started mid september, stopped by the end of septemeber. I also took a b complex through out my megadosing.
I have spent hundreds of dollars on supplements and products trying to combat this issue. I didnt want to shower or touch my head, I have long (used to be thick) hair and It was coming out consantly. I would guess I lost about 100 strands in the bathroom (showering, towling my hair, running my fingers through wet hair) and thats in addition to everything that was coming out throughout the rest of the day.
my hair loss was diffuse, but was noticeable to me within about 3 weeks, especially around the sides and my crown. Due to the plethora of hair supplements I was noticing new growth, but still shedding like crazy..
I have tried-
stinging nettle
nioxin shampoo
coconut oil (internal/external)
vinegar
caffiene/coffee shampoo
cayenne on scalp
all sorts of home made tonics for the scalp
garlic pills
hair/skin/nails pills
biotin
b complex
DIM
silica
iodine
iron
I am sure there is more.
the other day I read about EVENING PRIMROSE oil and while i was out I noticed a product called "essential woman" by barleans greens. the same day I read about MICONAZOLE NITRATE (anti fungal) being good for growth.
To this day I have taken the "essential woman" product 3 pills twice daily for about 3 days, and I have applied one..application of the mico product.
I dont know which of these is it... but today in the shower I LOST HARDLY ANYTHING. Im talking like.. normal loss.. maybe 15 hairs total. I showered while I conditioned I ran my fingers through my hair, after ward I combed my hair to be sure..
also, I know a lot of you think your loss may be contributed to MPB, female allopecia runs in my family... i was scared when I learned this... yet my shedding has reduced despite.
If you have tried almost everything, I really think the Essential product is helping.. I bought it because it has Evening primrose oil, but it also has things to help with hormones.. the compant makes a version for men. if you have not tried EPO, do. I have a feeling it is that, rather than the anti fungal that is working.
You can read reviews on amazon about both of these products. note= amazon has a new feature where you can search for keywords with a reviews.. very helpful.. just search "hair"
MIND YOU this is a new discovery... I am trying to not get my hopes up but I wanted you all to know. There are only a few supplements that I have been taking consistently, and i have just added EPO and this antifungal treatment very recently, but the results came quick
mens product..doesnt contain EPO though.. http://www.amazon.com/Barleans-Organic-Oils-Omega-Count/dp/B0009ET4MC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415489945&sr=8-1&keywords=barleans+men
If you have questions about anything, ask
Anyone got any updates on the colostrum or whatever it's called? Is your hair still shedding?
somebody to do the analysis of follicles? they die? or are at rest?
I'm no expert but I don't think there dead as the hair that falls has a club on the end which I think means there still alive. I thought that dead hair will have no club on the end. Itsover will prob no the answer tho.
Ok just got my results back. So at the moment my thyroid is fine and my hormone levels are normal but at one point my thyroid was disrupted which caused an autoimmune ailment. They said I am fine now and that my thyroid is not contributing to hair-loss. She wants a follow up exam in 6 months though. Also checked my Vitamin D level which was normal.
Not much help so I don't know what to take from this.
Found this article and reading through it now:
you lose hair all over the head?
Is your hair still falling out loads Blue? x
It does seem suspicious though don't you think? That almost all those afflicted (or maybe i'm wrong on that) suddenly get both hair loss and dandruff. :S i'm starting to be able to feel the back of my scalp more through my thin hair, depressing
Here are elmechanico last two posts. The first post is from 10/14/1014 so whatever elmechanico is doing, it worked in less than a month!

"...So, convinced I could finally cure my acne, I ordered B5 and started taking it right away. In the space of 1 week I gradually increased my dose until I reached 10g. After around 2 days on 10g I noticed really bad hair shedding when I ran my hands through my hair.
I immediately stopped taking B5(I probably took it for 9 days or so) but the hair loss continued.
In the coming months I noticed that my scalp was always itching really badly and that it was always irritated around the temples. I started taking all kind of supplements(which I still do). I also started regularly applying tea tree and castor oil to my scalp and using Nizoral once a week. Nothing has been able to stop the shedding though.
Well, now most of my scalp and hair feels really good, however my temples look horrible. I have receded around 1cm in a year and they are getting thinner every day. In the places where really thick, luscious hair used to be, now there's only wimpy and thin hair left.
My temples are also constantly inflamed and red and no matter what topicals I use, the irritation never goes away.
For a long time I was convinced I had Telogen Effluvium or some deficiency but I am pretty much sure now that B5 started MPB.
What other condition could cause such rapid hair loss on the temples? I don't know. I also have no other way to explain why only my temples are constantly inflamed/red and flaking.
The thing is there is no MPB history in my family. My father is a NW2 at most at 54 and his temples look thicker than mine!
I have no idea how but somehow B5 must've triggered MPB. It's also the only condition that explains why so many people have never managed to reverse their hair loss despite taking so many supplements. I and a lot of other people have had all kinds of blood tests done but they all came back normal.
If this Colostrum/Potassium Iodide thing doesn't work for you guys, I think I have no choice but to go a dermatologist and ask for Finasteride and Minox.
I don't want to be bald by the time I am 21"

"No real change here, some days my hair and scalp feel great, on others my scalp is still irritated and Im shedding a lot. However, it seems the hair loss and scalp irritation are worse on one side.
I'm still trying to figure out if my scalp is oily or dry and how the topicals affect my condition. I have also started taking Minocycline to cure my acne and maybe clear my scalp of bacteria/fungi.
I have definitely gotten some regrowth, which is good news. Especially on my right temple and at the centre of my hairline there are new hairs and it's looking a lot thicker.
However, my left temple is constantly irritated and shedding quite badly too.
As for my "treatment" right now, I take a lot of supps and eat a balanced diet high in protein and with lots of vitamins. I don't eat or drink processed crap, don't drink coffee or alcohol and also exercise daily. I also apply some topicals to my scalp a few times per week. Im not sure if all this helps."
It appears Elmechanico topical regime consists of tea tree and castor oil to the scalp, and using Nizoral once a week+healthy eating+supplements.
Elmechanico, can you list the supplements you take. This would be easily duplicated by other members since you had regrowth so quickly. Anything else you added that you haven't posted about?
Still having hair loss. Do you think dandruff could be the cause? I never had dandruff before taking B5. The dandruff and hair loss seem to be hand in hand. Anyone?
Have you looked into lamp87 regime? It is posted on page 45 and she is a 27 year old female. (I also quoted it below). My understanding is your shedding only started a few weeks ago in October. Honestly, don't freak out completely. Your hair loss will probably stop in a few weeks because you are female. I only ask you continue to post here so we can see if B5 female hair loss continues or resolves on it's own. The guys on this forum have had hair loss for years, not weeks

Hi guys!
I was taking 2g of vitamin b5 for about 30 days and after I noticed my hair falling out I stopped taking the vitamin immediately.
It's been 1 week or so since I'm no longer taking and my hair is still falling.
My acne didnt came back tho but I'm worried. Did your acne come back after stopping taking vitamin b5?
It would be such a disaster that I would have to deal with acne and hair loss.
