Not sure if I'm being thick here but all of these are talking about b5 deficiency not copper deficiency
We appreciate it yaer. Thank you! Like churcill I am also intrested in knowing how long it took to recover from your hairloss with copper?
On an other note I had to stop saw palmetto because it was giving me sour nipples. Its not a nice feeling and I hope it goes away soon. I stopped saw plametto three days ago but the nipplepain is only gettig worse. I read somewhere you can get bitchtitts from saw plametto. I think it was helping my hairgrowth but I dont want to wake up with long hair and breasts. I rather be bald than a ladyboy.
Keep posting we'll find a way to beat this..
I lost hair for a while and did not know the cause until i did a blood test, it was all over the scalp and i also lost color of hair, i mega dosed chelated copper for a while and it resolved, maybe 2/3 weeks.
Did you have any other symptoms, besides hair loss (sleep problems, anxiety, weight loss, scalp problems, etc.)? How long have you been off of b5?
No the middle one talks about copper levels reduced after a single dose of pantothenic acid. It goes both ways, if one depletes the other then its vice versa. Iv experienced hair loss due to copper deficiency and im trying to help u.
Hi mate sorry looking back my post sounded a bit bitchy but really I actually meant I was have a thick moment haha. Anyways Ive noticed that there is 3mg copper in one of the supplements I've just started taking so hopefully that will make a difference.

Yeh the saw palmetto is lowering your dht which is antagonising your estrogen thus causing the first signs of gyno. If you did wish to continue with the saw palmetto then get yourself some nolvadex which will eliminate any problems you get.

I was never on mea dose b5 but i know this from research, i suffered copper deficiency due to mega dosing on vitamin c, iron and zinc. I dont think the multi vitamin u take is enough, u need to take chelated copper, i got mine for 8 dollars from amazon, twinlab chelated copper. I took 3 caps daily. Multivitamins are scams as most minerals have antagonistic relationships with each other so its impossible to absorb all of them in the same time especially in tablet or capsule form, liquid is much better. If i were u again i would test my coppper levels, that is if u really want to stop the hair loss.
Well.. I got my blood test results back.
My TSH, Prolactin, Testosterone (Free, Bioavailable) and DHT levels are within the normal range. However, both DHEA Sulfate and SHBG are higher than normal: DHEA@ 435 mcg/dL (normal range: 45-345 mcg/dL); and SHBG@75 nmol/L (normal range: 10-50 nmol/L).
I guess DHT is not the culprit here, but something is definitely going on with hormones. Judging by the sleep problems, anxiety, and the constant feeling of being "tired and wired," my cortisol and probably epinephrine/norepinephrine are higher than they should be.
I've convinced my pcp to order more tests to check my blood levels of some vitamins (B2, B6, B12 and D) and minerals (Copper, Iron, Lead, Mercury and Zinc). It might take a couple of weeks for results to come in, though.

Good stuff. Excited to see your results. I need to make an appointment to start testing some more blood
pjjordan,
I'm glad you're finally turning the corner and hope you'll continue to improve.
you mention that you're using a steroid shampoo, do you happen to know what the active ingredient is in the prep?
I am using Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% Shampoo. I had the topical solution and it worked good too. The shampoo is easier
Discomfortzone, This is just an FYI. I noticed that you said your DHEA was high. Well, I supplemented DHEA years back, and I stopped because I noticed my hair starting to fall out. My hair stopped falling out shortly after I stopped the DHEA. Hope this helps a little. Good luck!
Dhea is produced by the adrenal glands which again goes back to my theory that the adrenals are playing a massive part in the hairloss. The only reasons that the adrenals will produce more dhea than normal is due to, toxins in the body, Pollution, stress, And medications. We could be getting somewhere here.

High DHEA levels are often associated with high cortisol, which in turn suggests hyperactive adrenals (out of balance HPA axis). As I have alluded to in my first post, megadosing on b5 seems to affect the HPA axis and cause overproduction of adrenal hormones (cortisol in particular), until the adrenals are exhausted.
The question is whether high cortisol is what's causing the hair loss or if there are other factors (e.g. Cu/Zn/Mg deficiencies) that are more directly responsible for this symptom. I had an episode of rapid hair shedding back in December (2-3 months after I'd stopped supplementing with b5) and back then taking remedies for adrenal fatigue seemed to have helped quite a bit. There is a very interesting talk on this topic (youtu.be/SM9vDjCuhvQ).
@travelleruk what has happened with the stinging nettle results? Are you still using vitamin b5? You disappeared from this forum
@phillyeagle
How's everything going with your experience ?
Hey sorry for disappearing...I've been busy doing some travelling and now I'm living in Vietnam.
I'm still taking the stinging nettle but had to reduce to dose due to slight brain fog...
It's hard to tell tbh whether my hair is really going to grow back...I really thought it was a couple of months ago. I still lose some but not as much as before and there are new ones growing but maybe I should be happy just if my hair stays as it is.
Glad this thread is still going and I hope we find an answer soon.
