I've been taking Lugol's iodine for the last 2 weeks and have seen significant improvement. The first week I was getting breakouts from the iodine i think, I'm guessing it's the bromine or fluoride coming out?
This last week my face has pretty much cleared up completely. It's looking good!
How many drops are you taking a day?

i always have 3-4 drops in the morning, and some nights i take around 2 drops.
i also take some selenium (about 100mcg, which is half a tablet), and 2 vitamin c tablets whenever i take any iodine/iodide.
every 2nd day or so i also take boron.
any updates brahs?
As of now, I have no acne. Oil levels are normalized. Energy and overall feeling of wellness is fantastic. This regimen seems to be working very well for me.
I cannot discount the fact that accutane is still in my system, so I'm not willing to make any broad claims about the regimen's efficacy on my acne. With regards to overall health however, there is no doubt in my mind.

So you simply cured your acne through iodine? still eating gluten? dairy? grains?

I'm not going to claim I've cured anything. It's simply working well for me so far. Along with taking iodine I am also supplementing 10,000 IU vitamin D3, 750mg Magnesium, and drinking distilled water almost exclusively. Yes I am still consuming dairy. I have not changed my diet in any way aside from liquids.
Another update!
I am still drinking distilled water exclusively. I still believe it's the only water anyone should be drinking. (Especially under the current global conditions)
I am still taking Iodine, Vitamin D3, and Magnesium. I am still having wonderfully vivid dreams, restful night sleeps, and above average energy levels!
My hands no longer get cold anymore! Poor circulation is a thing of the past
I am going to add Liposomal Vitamin C and Colloidal Silver soon, as I am working in the medical field and need to boost my immune system.
Okay now the bad news... My acne began to return a few days ago. Just as it had the last time I stopped accutane.
The good news is I discovered an alternative which has completely cleared my breakouts and redness in four days. So I am now clear... again!
Taking Accutane increases inter-cranial pressure which is likely the reason you have been having such a dramatic change in dreams after you've stopped. I have experienced it before.
Recent Accutane use also completely invalidates any sort of claim that Iodine has cured your acne, when clearly it hasn't as it has returned.
Not to rain on your "parade," but I would like you to stop posting in this thread if your results cannot be validated due to all of the other variables you are throwing in. All too often, people are misled to something that may not help them. Make a log if you want to detail this. Thanks.
As a side note, I would also suggest you look at the dangers of colloidal silver before you buy it. There are serious health concerns when taking it.
I have done extensive research in the immune system area. I have found loads of evidence that acne and food allergies, along with many other fatigue related issues is due to a Th2 dominated body. My next thread will explain all of this in detail and how both herbs and gut bacteria alteration can help shift the body towards a balanced Th1 Th2 system.
No, don't stop posting! There is more to iodine than curing acne. In fact, I would say iodine wouldn't cure acne at all for most people, but it still has many awesome effects and I like hearing about them. I'm following this thread so please don't stop posting! If you decide to post somewhere else than here, please link me.

I've taken Accutane breaks much longer than this before. I have never experienced such dreams (except in my childhood).

Do you even read my posts? I very explicitly stated two posts above your own:
I'm not going to claim I've cured anything.
So I'd appreciate it if you didn't put words into my mouth. Thanks.

From the very beginning I have explicitly detailed all of the supplements I utilize alongside Iodine. I am not trying "mislead" anyone. I believe people are smart enough to take all of these posts for what they are worth, which is anecdotal evidence. Not many people have taken iodine, so I feel consolidated observations of persons supplementing this substance might be helpful. Furthermore, this thread was created in the health and nutrition section of the boards, not in the personal logs section. As such, I feel I have every right to continue posting my experiences with iodine here, and will continue to do so.
.
But the thread isn't labeled, "My experiences with Iodine right after Accutane and including some other supplements." You are throwing too many variables into the mix to make a valid argument and that is that. The big one being your Accutane use. My point is, you can't say it was the Iodine.

Quote me one post in this thread where I claim any direct link between iodine and my acne or any other side effect. You can't because I haven't.
The only observation (not claim) I made was increased energy and vivid dreams - a well documented effect of iodine. Furthermore, I have ten years experience being on and off Accutane, so I would say I am in a good position to know what effects Accutane has on my body.
Tritonix,
Is your reasoning for choosing distilled water about the flouride? Because at whole foods, they have FreshPure RO machine that also deionizes the water for $.39 per gallon. Their jugs of distilled water are $1.19 per gallon. They claim the results are similar and can be even better than distilled as minerals can get back into the water after distillation in many plants. I'm considering trying this for a bit.
I would only recommend and will only personally consume home-based steam-distilled water.
The "minerals" found in spring water and any other non-evaporation-based filtration process will contain various amounts of inorganic elements (from tiny particulates broken off from bedrock, to pharmaceutical drugs, to nano-particles). These are arguably dangerous because they are unusable by the chemical pathways in your system and will accumulate or calcify in various parts of your body. Over time, this accumulation may cause bone diseases, thyroid issues, and other various problems.
Even if someone were to believe inorganic minerals were potentially helpful, the amounts of these minerals in the water are so minute that they add almost nothing to the daily allowance of any essential nutrient. If I was going to choose additional supplementation outside my natural diet, I'd want know exactly what additives I was ingesting, rather than trusting the judgement of some random water company. Radioactive particulates from the ongoing Fukashima disaster are also a concern, and unless you have a geiger counter, you're once again at the mercy of the business you're purchasing from.
So then we come into water filtration methods. Rather than go into a lengthy discussion about the pros and cons of each, I'll only restate the conclusion I have come to after much research.
Home-based steam distillation is the only 100% effective way to ensure you are drinking the purest, cleanest water possible.

This is something you should all know of.
Research From Dr. Masaru Emoto, says that human thoughts are directed at water before it is frozen, images of the resulting water crystals will be beautiful or ugly depending upon whether the thoughts were positive or negative. Emoto claims this can be achieved through prayer, music or by attaching written words to a container of water.
The results have both delighted with their beauty and provided irrefutable proof of the effect of consciousness on matter. More exquisite than the most amazing diamond, the formations of these crystals speak to us about the fractal architecture of the universe, the amazing properties of water and the effect of consciousness upon the fabric of reality.

Nature itself has it's own nature resonance, and that affects the molecular structure of water crystals. It's not just nature's own resonance, but also our thoughts and emotions as well!
Saying certain words, changes the molecular structure.

Now now, it's not just scientific facts! We need to purify ourselves from within too, watch out for your thoughts and intentions because those are what shapes our reality as well as our beings.
Infact, there was an experiment about the decay rate of rice, one with higher vibe had lasted lot lot longer, while one with lower one decayed faster.
EDIT: Also Ionized waters seemed to decrease blood sugar level, compared to tap water.
Any filtration is better than none, and filters can get close to the purity of steam-distillation, but they will never ever surpass it. This is quite simply because distilled water is as pure as you can get.
Also, with regards to DaftFrost:
Our entire existence, our very reality is actually a very complicated set of vibrations. This has been proven scientifically through quantum experimentation. Everything is interconnected with everything else, and time does not exist. These waves of positive or negative energy radiate out from our bodies and interact with everything around us, just as we absorb the energies of things around us. Remember that this existence is a creation of God, and as such everything made by His hand is divine.

Exactly! that's what I've been trying to tell people. And God is not actually he or he is not exactly a separate being. Think of it like this, there is a big pool of water. The entire pool is god, the tiny infinite droplets of water that is in the pool is us (higher self) and a even the smaller part of that droplet is our physical body.
That one consciousness asked itself "What am I?" so it fragmented itself to explore and experience its own creations and to identify itself. Earth is a place to explore negative energies, that we've never experienced before, before we came here. It is part of knowing ourselves and learning, life here is just temporary as we are eternal beings.
There are 7 planes of existence, highest plane feel that energy of "oneness" of unconditional love which motivates us and keeps us together. Buddha for example, incarnated from the highest plane, Jesus incarnated from one of the higher planes also, they both came here for a mission, but we failed to spread their teachings correctly through religions. Most religions are now just not trust worthy and misled.
The whole 2012, mayan prophecy thing is about earth shifting into a new vibrational level where we must be harmonized with it. It is not the end of the world, its the shift to a higher focus/plane/dimension, time is going faster, as earth's resonance is rising.
We merely are just a conscious being, able to create anything out of our thoughts. We still do possess that "thought to manifestation" power today, but there is a delay or gap between them and it isn't always easy for vibrations to match.
So, several weeks ago I began increasing my iodine intake by adding kelp flakes to my food. At the beginning, I did the salt flush thing a few times. 4 or so. Last week I got a bottle of lugols and began taking that. I also started drinking ultra purified water that removes nearly all flouride a couple of days ago. A couple of days ago, I got a pimple on my face with another one forming yesterday. I had one last week on my chin as well. I am going to reduce the amount of iodine and see what happens.
The only changes to my energy I've noticed lately is that I am so ready to go to sleep at night and much earlier. A few times I've been barely able to keep my eyes open at 8:30 pm when I still need to walk the dog.
I'm interested in increasing my iodine intake and see what effects it could have on my skin (and general well-being).
Reasoning being that I still get comedonal acne despite a good diet and it seems to be related to my skin's metabolism being quite poor. I'm wondering if it could be a sign of mild hypothyroidism.
So from now on I'm going to try to get around 5000mcg of iodine a day - the amount (or somewhat less) than an average Japanese person gets. I've been taking kelp caps for a couple of years, but I don't think they've been sufficient (200-400mcg/day). I might switch to something like Iodoral later, but first I'm just going to try having multiple kelp caps per day. I'm not going to add salt as I don't understand why it is necessary. I do use plenty of sea salt in my diet, so hopefully that's good enough.
I've also recently switched to filtered water, which will hopefully decrease the amount of fluoride and chlorine I get. I brush my teeth regularly with a tooth paste that has fluoride though, and have started to wonder if I should switch that to something else¦ Although I don't think I've heard of non-fluoride tooth paste, hmm.
I'm not sure if I should add selenium or not. I'd like to keep nutritional supplements at the minimum, so I'm hoping eating liver almost on a weekly basis would suffice.
In any case, if I see any changes for the better / worse, will report here! Interesting thread.

Selenium is extremely important if you take iodine.

How has it been going for you, alternavista? Have you been getting more break-outs? I read here that acne lesions are signs of detoxification symptoms, so I guess it's normal, although getting bad break-outs for months due to iodine sounds a bit weird. I really don't like the sound of that, so hopefully it's not very common.
I did get a few unusual pimples back in August and September, but I reduced the amount of iodine and they went away. No increase in energy though.
Coincidence or not, but I've had an unusually high amount of small break-outs in the last couple of days, and one bigger pimple that I don't usually get anymore. I only megadosed on kelp for a couple of days around five-seven days ago and then actually forgot about it and returned to taking the usual amount. I can't say iodine would've necessarily caused these, but off the top of my head I can't think of anything else. Strange!
