It's very common. They think that about 3 million americans have celiac disease as of now and the numbers are rising. And that's just celiac, that doesn't even include ALL other sorts of food intolerance and allergies.
I don't know why it surprises people so much. We are breaking our bodies with this horrible "food"... people are becoming intolerant, It's just nature. Our bodies will react if we put crap in them that isn't supposed to be there.

You are the pathetic one. Using all those chemicals and pills to treat yourself. Go research about water fasting before insulting someone who is trying to help, kid.
Fasting for a few weeks straight (water only) certainly will remove all acne and hyperpigmentation marks.
The reason for this is because after 3-4 days of not eating, the body enters ketosis. This is when the body starts feeding on its own cells for energy. This may sound bad, but the brain is very clever, it prioritizes the damaged cells first, so it's those damaged cells on your skin that are the first to be replaced.
Fasting also flushes all of the bad microbes out of your gut, which shuts down your bodies inflammatory response, thus preventing further breakouts.
I don't recommend anybody just go straight into a 3 week fast however. You must first prepare your body for such a task. Spend at least 1 month first taking multivitamins and probiotics, while eliminating gluten from your diet entirely.
This fast certainly isn't a permanent cure if you're just going to go straight back to your old eating habits however. Avoiding gluten completely is a life long commitment to maintaining clear skin after the fast.
For those that are skeptical of this working. I guarantee each and every one of you has digestive health issues and regularly consume products containing wheat, barley, rye...etc
Another thing I meant to mention (and it's something that can cause people to sway from the fast) is the 'purging' effect. This is whenany inflammation hidden under the skin before the fastquickly makes it's way to the surface during the fast, resulting in a break out. This occurs, because during the fast, your skin cell turnover rate is amplified multiple times, quickly bringing that inflammation to the surface of the skin.
It's important not to panic if/when this occurs. It's actually a great sign that your dead skin cells are shedding at a much higher rate than normal. Stick to the fast and the inflammation will soon clear up and they'll be no further inflammation under the skin to cause a future break out.
