Any updates? Did this clear you up 100%? Which worked better, the glutathione or the glutamic acid?

Ok it's been about a week and a half and I've been taking 2-3 pills of Glutathione a day.

Skin is noticbly worse, wondering if this is still from an initial breakout. Also, I've noticed that I am VERY tired evey day. My entire body feels fatigued actually. I also started taking 300 mg ALA and 500 mcg of chromium picolinate at the same time too so that could be why.

Thoughts?

I take anywhere from 250mg Glutathione 3X a day to 500mg. Glutathione 3X a day when I take it orally - I break open the pills and spill them into water. i have heard that this is the best way for the body to assimulate supplements.

Great brands I have used: Montiff, Solgar, Theranaturals, Pure Encapsulations. It's cheaper if you start out buying pills - then graduate to powder when you want to be able to control the amounts.

I originally started taking Glutathione in a nebulizer for respiratory distress. And, low and behold, my skin cleared up!!

BE CAREFUL!! Glutathione is one of the most powerful detoxifiers. It is the most potent detoxifier for the LIVER - which is why, I believe, my skin is clear as long as I take it.

If you have Mercury in your system, you could have bad detox reactions to Glutathione and should (everyone should anyway) go to a holistic Dr. who can tell you how to get rid of the mercury in your body. It can cause pretty serious problems anyway.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I wish you all luck in your quest for clear skin - I know how awful acne is!

Peace out,

Trevor

Trevor, I want to share something with you about Glutathione that I've come across. Some rather interesting research. Just check it out let me know what you think. [Removed personal information]

You said you break the pill open?

do you mean capsules or tablets?

i only ask this becuase, glutathione is still a molecule,

meaning it can be broken further down to its more basic properties

by some of the weakest acids (which happenes to be in our stomachs lol)

the plastic protectant is there for a reason,

it may not be an enteric coated pill (it would be way to expensive), but

dont you agree that it would help even just a little,

for better absorption of glutathione...?

If you want to raise your Glutathione levels then I would start taking NAC, vitamin C, L-glutamine, and alpha-lipoic acid. For the NAC I would take a sustained release formula because NAC doesn't stay in the system for very long and the best form of alpha-lipoic acid is R-Lipoic.

If I take this supplement will I really have lighter colored skin? I actually think I would rather have acne than lighten my skin color...

Hi

i have been a silent lurker in this forum for quite somewhile..i had to register today because of a prob..i recently bought glutathione 500 mg tabs and have been taking it with 1000 mg vit c twice a day..for about 2 weeks..for the past few days i noticed peeling skin in my feet and face(feels dry when i get up).when i looked up to those symptoms i realised it's a vitamin a overdose!!i am really freaked out.i have stopped taking the tablets for now..does anybody know if it is due to the glutathione.before i was once admitted in hospital for a case of adrenal supression..(diarrhea symptoms)does it have anything to do with this??please please someone help..

I don't think its vitamin A OD. It's just probably reduced your sebum production in the face, which coincidentally was what I was hoping it would do to me (and yes it did reduce my oil production).

Not only did glutathione reduce my sebum production, it gets rid of those cysts, YES, cysts!!

I would get those large painfully deep cysts around my jaw line that would persist for weeks and weeks until i popped them. Even properly popped, the scar wouldn't fade away for like a month. Well, ever since I started taking glutathione, a cyst would form, then start disappearing...in about 4 days it was GONE!! not sure how it does it, but i'm in love!

Back in 2007, I tried the Diamond Whitening Pills.

I got a 6-month Supply.

It worked for me!

Less to Zero Acne, my complexion improved a lot!

Its expensive and I didn't order again.

For 1 Month, I took it 2x a day (AM & PM-before bedtime)

It improved my complexion.

Jarrow Formulas - Reduced Glutathione 500 mg. - 60 Capsules

I read Glutathione should be taken with Vitamin C for more absorption.

Ratio: 1:2 VitC

Like if you'll take Glutathione 500mg, Vitamin C should be 1000mg.

I'm taking it 1x a day now, before bedtime.

One of the effects of glutathione is Skin Whitening.

Its not a drastic change, unlike IV Glutathione after several treatments.

Start with a low dosage, maybe 250 mg with VitC 500 mg, 1x a day, before bedtime.

I think its a very good Antioxidant.

***

I've never tried IV Glutathione.

I'm taking the Glutathione Pills to help with Acne/Marks/Scars/Skin Complexion and I'm seeing positive results on it.

Hello! :)

Best to ask your Dermatologist.

For me? I don't see anything wrong with it.

Maybe Glutathione might even help with the side effects of Accutane.

I've been reading positive feedbacks.

I think its a very good antioxidant.

Is this something you would have to take consistently for the rest of your life? I don't mean to sound dramatic, I was just wondering if the effects are long term or do the pills need to be taken all the time to create results?

I've taken it for almost two months now.

Have a Glutathione Log, see how it affects your Skin.

If you take lower dosage, or completely stop it.

Your body always produces glutathione on its own. If you want to consistently boost it, then yes, you will want to probably take something forever. But things like exercise and sleep and those simple all-around healthy lifestyle choices will boost it naturally.

I think I need more boost, I don't mind taking the Supplements.

It depends on how you use it, or mainly use it for.

Health Conditions changes, so keep a Log, and know your Body.

If a person is pregnant or nursing, have other existing conditions, you can't just take

over the counter products.

For the last 3-4 years my physicians have had me trying various things to improve serum glutathione levels. Acne was not the focus of the treatment but has been an embarrassing problem for 10+ years. Really didn't have skin problems in teens and twenties.

I've taken L-Glutathione capsules, NAC tablets and capsules, nebulized Glutathione, two different topical creams, and did a series of IVs. I've been on and off Vit C and other precursors. The acne really didn't seem to change during any of this and didn't respond to changing doses.

I needed to return to Glutathione after a break and have been trying a sublingual from Source Naturals.

The sublingual form is in 50mg tablets that dissolve slowly and are about the size of 'old school' aspirin tablets but thinner. The idea isn't to dissolve the tablet to the stomach but for it to be directly absorbed into the blood thru mouth tissues. The theory is that much lower doses should be required. They are mildly sweetened and fruit flavored - it isn't like sucking on or inhaling sulphur.

Not cured, but skin is quite a bit less difficult to look at / live with.

EDIT: Removed mention of bromelain in my message above. Allergies to bromelain and pineapple are not uncommon and the compound may impact prescribed antibiotic absorption rates.

I have been taking the reduced glutathione for 9 days. It causes break out. It was never so bad before! What is wrong with it? I take 500mg twice a day.

Any other things that might caused it?

Maybe its an initial breakout.

Take it with Vitamin C, 1:2 Ratio.

500mg Glutathione + 1000mg Vitamin C.

Or you can just stop taking it.

Everyone's body is different.

Hello,

Just stumbled across this topic today. Oiler, I noticed you said that using this reduced your sebum levels? How true is this? Or I suppose I mean, has anyone else noticed this?
