I made a pretty good one today:Some water,
One package of fresh blueberries,
one small organic banana,
3 or 4 handfuls organic baby spinach,
frozen mixed fruits - I think these are the key, its a mix bag of frozen melon, grapes, and peaches which works well here
Sounds good! Yes, I think the frozen fruits are key as well!
I.T. yeh I put all sorts of fruits in there, not just banana, I was just saying that if I dont use banana I find it a bit too waterey and tasteless. Some fruits I normally put in there are apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, apricots, bananas, frozen blueberries, raspberries. For flavouring I always put either a little bit of honey, cinnamon or coccnut flakes. And then to finish I put about 3 ice cubes.
I put a pretty decent amount of greens in there, I vary between spinach and kale at the moment. I might try red chard later on. I think my ratio is probably about 35-40% greens or so. I put a good handful or so. I am finding I am still breaking out but I do hope it stops soon.
Hey I.T. do you drink all 4 cups in one go? I find I get a little bloated if I drink that much in one go, I think 4 cups equates to about a litres worth. I usually have this amount the first thing in the morning but it fills me up pretty much straight away.
This sounds interesting, I think I will give it a try
I'm pretty clear now, just dealing with red marks, but I'm certain eating more fruits and veggies helps your skin, and this seems like an easy way to get a lot of nutrients at once.
Also I read a lot of people can't get it to taste good, and I thought... JAMBA JUICE! I love Jamba Juice, and now they have these all-fruit smoothies that are 100% real fruit, so you could just get a large one of those and mix the greens yourself and add them in! It would probably taste much better since Jamba Juice smoothies are so good. Too expensive to do daily probably, but it seems like a good idea.

I've done this with the acai supercharger and it was delicious!

Cool! I think I will try it with Raspberry Rainbow (my usual Jamba Juice smoothie, 100% fruit). It seems like 2 handfuls of greens really isn't much compared to their large size, so it probably wouldn't change the taste too much.
We have innocent smoothies here - here is the link - they seem to be 100 % healthy and they r so tasty! Would it be ok to add these to the smoothies?

oooh I made one almost exactly like that this morning, only instead of a banana i put in some fresh pineapple. It's sooo good I think I'm going to grab another glass right now.
I currently am drinking a product called Greens+ you can check the site out at www.genuinehealth.com. It's in powder form and I mix it with my favourite juice and use a blender to blend it and add honey. It tastes awful with water alone so a juice and some honey makes it taste great. The bottle says that it's great for overall health and provides you with all the nutrients, greens, and vitmains in one cup
Try it out ppl if your lazy like me and trying the green smoothie method while the powder version is all made up for u !
Well, I've been drinking green smoothies for about a week now, and I have been trying out all sorts of combinations and mixtures...and I love them. I think they are really healthy! As for my acne, it is perhaps too early to say, but skin doesn't seem to be too bad. A couple of lingering spots are healing. I am also trying other things (like face dipping!!). Overall though I am pleased with the smoothies and am going to continue drinking them! Thanks for the tip!
i am drinking this almost 2 weeks now (2x or 3x a day)
1 kiwi
1 banana
1 apple
handful lettuce
+water
maybe it's coincidence but my acne improved alot during this period ! like 50 % better
are you guys gassy like me???
i am also doing doing the dip regimen (already for 2 months)

I usually don't drink more than 2 cups at once, but I often drink 4 cups within an hour.

That's a great idea! Since they're 100% fruit though, I don't see why you couldn't make a smoothie that tasted the same. (Unless Jamba Juice uses fruit "juice," which it probably does, and I advice staying away from fruit juice). I have made green smoothies before that definitely taste like a Jamba Juice smoothie! To get it to taste that way, I use less greens (usually about 1 cups of baby spinach), 2 pieces of fruit (apples, pears or bananas), frozen pineapple and peaches, raspberries, and honey.
The Jamba Juice idea would be great for traveling - you could just bring your greens in and ask them to add it (while ignoring their funny expressions, haha). 🙂

Aw, I thought these drinks were so cool when I visited England! Very tasty. I wouldn't use them often though if they contain fruit juice. Also, if they're pasteurized, they will not be as nutritious as fresh fruit.

Dried greens are great, but I don't believe they can "replace" fresh greens, so if you aren't seeing the results you're hoping to see with them, I'd give the fresh green smoothies a try. 🙂
hi Independent Thinker!are you still drinking 4 cups of greens? how is your acne now?
Yes, I still drink 4 cups a day. Right now, my skin is blemish free (except for a couple very tiny spots). Normally, I'd have at least 3 regular sized blemishes on my chin. If I go a few days (sometimes even just a couple days) without the smoothies, there's a good chance that I'll get another regular sized blemish. I do wish I wasn't dependent on them, but I'm very thankful for having a healthy way to keep my skin clear, and I love the motivation it gives me to get my fruits and greens in everyday! How are you doing with the smoothies?
Merry christmas everyone! I just got a blender/smoothie maker for christmas so bring it on. Green smoothis here i come!
Merry Christmas! 🙂 Hope you're enjoying your new blender!

You're welcome Jenna, and I am really glad you're enjoying the smoothies so much! 🙂
My blender only makes up to 5 cups (like 1.25 quarts.) does this mean I have to make two blender fulls of smoothie every other day? just wondering... unless you guys all have 2 quart blenders 🙁Please let me know, thanks.
You could do that, or you could just make 4 cups everyday - whatever works for you. I do think they taste better fresh, and they're usually too cold for me when I take them out of the fridge, but I still like the convenience of just making them every other day. My blender, a Vita Mix, holds about 2 quarts.

I'm glad your acne is improving!! 🙂 Digestion wise, it may be that your body isn't used to all that fiber? You might want to look into plant enzymes, or maybe the enzyme triphala (have heard lots of good things about this).
Hmm, in anyones opinion, what would be the most healthy fruit/veggie combination to put in this, skin wise?
I would say spinach, but it's still good to use a variety though. 🙂
im gonna try this tomorrow... thanks for the info
Sure, and good luck! 🙂
Would it reap the same benefits to eat all leafy green vegetables and fruits and whanot all separately instead of all mushed up in a smoothie?
No, you'll only be getting a fourth of the nutrition that way. The first post explains the benefits of blending. 🙂

i have kept up with the smoothie for about a week and i went away on vacation for a week. for about 2 weeks since i came back, i didn't make any smoothie  i started again about a week ago, but i haven't been adding enough greens i don't think :doubt:
i'm gonna start this from the beginning and start making the smoothie properly! hehe.
anyway, what is the equivalance of 1 liter of smoothie to oz? when i make my smoothie, it usually ends up being a bit less than 1 liter.
thanks 🙂
Currently doing this with Fresh/Frozen Fruit. Frozen Fruit works really good if you want a smoothie texture!
I'm also adding Kale/Romaine Lettuce. I drink this everyday now and my energy has boosted also I would usually feel tired and sleepy in the middle of the day. I don't anymore and always feel active.
I'm loving this routine not only good for acne but overall health as well
Thank-You!!!
