Getting a lot of tiny breakouts all over... I started using a new foundation a week ago and I think it's from that... or stress or coffee.... probably a combination haha

But hopefully BP will work it's magic for me and I'll be clearer for Friday. I've got a dinner / party to go to to celebrate the end of uni classes / graduation

Not feeling to good. Having some extreme anxiety issues because of it. Not sure what to do. Feeling sad and confused.

I don't know why i feel ok even though i have one of these things growing again.. is it because i think it's the multigrain bread i ate and i can avoid? Is it because i feel that with the make up it won't be so visible? Is it that from wednesday and for 11 days i won't have to go out? Or that i found the icing method is really effective? I don't know why but i don't feel afraid... what i am afraid is that in a few days i may realize that i should be afraid..

Man, I was gone for a month and it seems like this forum went from nice and accepting to crazy fight-ville. :-/ geez....

Anyway... let's remember to love each other. People have weaknesses, people make mistakes, people FEEL emotions... acne is a painful thing to live with. Let us take a step back and remember that we are here for each other because it is too hard to speak in public about how this affects us. We come here for solace, not to feel judged for our feelings. Jealous or cynical emotions are one thing, jealous or cynical ACTIONS are another.

On another note: I've been able to slow down on my picking for a while now. I'm so proud of myself and I can see the improvement in my skin. Check out my signature for what's been helping me for about 3 weeks now ( I only added in the Olay Pro-X this week, though). I'm feeling good. The "threat" of going to basic training in February and not being able to hide behind makeup is really helping me not want to pick and to improve my skin. :D

Is anyone out there? I swear I feel like I'm so alone in this. I know I'm not but I can't help but feel as if I am. Can anyone give me some tips or advice? I still suffer from breakouts but not as much. I've been on the regimen for about 10 months. My acne has improved so much but I still get two to three pimples every two weeks or so. At the moment I'm struggling with a deep indented scar on my right cheak. It is fresh. It started as a small pimple that I popped and then it turned into like a small cut and slowly grew bigger and deeper. There is no way to cover this thing. Even with makeup you can see how deep it is. The saddest part is I have a formal event coming up in three days!!! I don't want to go but I have to. There is no way for me to get out of it. Is there anyway to minimize or fill in the scar. I can not afford to go to a derm or doc at the moment so any home remedies would be good. I'm just really depressed about it. It seems as every time I have a family event my skin decides to act up. If I were to go to a derm what would I ask for and about how much would it cost? Help please!!! I'm desperate!!!

As of today, I'm actually feeling really good about my skin :) I haven't had a bad break out in two months ...I saw my new dermatologist yesterday and he added spironolactone 50mgs once a day since he says my acne is hormonal. I'm hoping I don't get the initial breakout everyone talks about getting when starting this med, on the up side my derm did give me a refill for my minocycline so maybe that will keep the pimples at bay, now that my skin is clear I don't want to start breaking out now lol. I plan on getting another microdermabrasion soon, those work the best for me and I do see improvement with them for my hyperpigmentation. I've also added Skinceuticals face wash and its doing wonders!!! My skin feels so clean and looks so soft since I've been using it that I've actually get compliments on how smooth it looks wiggle.gif

I'm feeling really awesome. I had my first zit in three weeks yesterday but it's pretty much gone by now. I feel really thankful that I stuck with my regimen.

I haven't used the regimen so I can't offer advice on that, but I just wanted to say hang in there.

To cover up scarring, you have to fill it in first, then use foundation or mineral powder on top to even out your skin. I use a B5 with hyaluronic acid serum which acts as a filler, then after it dries I put a primer on top of scars (if you can tolerate silicone-based primers, those will sink into dents and fill out scars better than water based ones, but the silicone can cause breakouts).

Pure honey also helps to temporarily plump up the skin. Before your event or the night before, do a 10-30 minute honey mask to help with skin texture. If the scar is fresh, it will be easier to cover up and even help it heal. Aloe vera can also help with fresh scars.

Thank you sooooo much for the tips. What kind of B5 and hyaluronic serum do you use? I will try the honey mask tomorrow night. Thanks.

I suggest doing a test spot for the honey mask to make sure it doesn't break you out. I personally can tolerate honey on my face for hours, so I usually take off my makeup in the afternoon and leave on the honey mask for a few hours, but if it's your first time it's better to do it for only a short time until you are sure. And use pure honey...I usually use the honey that comes as a side with greek yogurts. For some reason, it's worked better for me than any other type of honey.

The serum I use is by skiceuticals and it's ridiculously expensive. I tried ordering it online once because it was cheaper, but unless you order it from the skinceuticals side or buy it from a spa, there's no guarantee what you're getting on other sites like amazon. I'm sure there are cheaper hyauluronic serums though. Maybe you can ask on the scar forum. Hyauluronic is not a cure for scars, it's a temporary plumping treatment basically to make the scar look less deep. I use this particular brand because it only has 3 ingredients, and I think the B5 works well on red marks. If you want something quick and more affordable, I recommend using a tiny amount of aloe vera or a primer to fill in the scar, then wait for it to dry and use liquid foundation on top to completely cover up the indent.

A man stopped me in the street the other day and asked if he could talk to me. I asked what about and he said "everything!" That he wasn't trying to sell me anything, he just wanted to talk to me because I had a "nice face." Then he bought me a coffee! All because I have a nice face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wtf! So I'm feeling very grateful for (ro)accutane and Dior!

Awful.. i hope the derm will prescribe antibiotics today.. possibly i will lower spiro dosage and if it doesn't work i will up ti again.. i hope my obgyn can help me with the dosage but docs here have so little experience with spiro.. Right now i feel that only God can help me to make the right decisions and get out of this quickly.. The only problem is that i don't really believe in God evil.gif

Rough time right now, and it's definitely showing in my skin. My dog and my grandmother just died weeks apart, I had a cutting relapse (after being "clean" for around 9 months), I'm back in therapy for depression, I was diagnosed with BDD and I'm being "treated" for what my doctors and therapists think is an eating disorder, so now I feel like a fat bloated pig. I've been eating bad, breaking out, and the size of my pores is making me crazy. You know it's bad when you're laying in bed awake at one in the morning, crying because your skin is so bad and you have no hope it will ever get better and you just want to die, and your tears sting your face because your skin is so irritated from your acne medication. And then you have to get up every morning and put on your face of makeup and your skin is so dry it looks like the cracked earth during a drought, and you have to deal with people everyday making little comments about your appearance, judging you and making you feel even worse about yourself, when you could have done that all by yourself.

So yeah, life's great.

Someone cursed me, there is no other explanation.. the derm wouldn't prescribe antibiotics but suggested accutane! I cured my acne almost alone the previous time with spiro.. doctors only suggested things that didn't work.. and the medicine that changed my life, they don't like it but accutane is fine for them! If there wasn't that dermatology lesson at the university i doubt i would have at least the 2 beautiful years spiro gave me.

I was prescribed differin after a visit to consultant. After 4 days of use I noticed my skin started to peel and go red raw. When I applied lotion, even a simple ph neutral light moisturiser it burnt like hell! My friend suggested a lotion to me which I applied and to my surprise even when applying I felt no tenderness or stinging, and was able to apply my foundation, purchase from the skin clinic which completely gave me a flawless look. The lotion was a lifesaver and without this I would have been going to work as red as a lobster, should I have been unable to wear foundation. I cannot believe Differin is so strong, or is it that my skin is so sensitive.

Oh Savy - I'm so sorry to hear of the rough time you're going through right now!

You're such a lovely girl and have been a great help to many people here in the past (myself included) so I hate to hear you're feeling this way and really hope you're doing better soon.

Hang in there
