Pros:

Minimal health risks
Felt better

Cons:

Didn't do anything

I took 3 pills a day almost every day, and it didn't seem to do anything for my acne. It did nothing with my blackheads, and I couldn't really tell if it helped with my occasional inflammatory. I get a big inflamed almost every time before I get my period, and there was really no change in the time it took for the "period pimple" to heal, nor did it prevent any period pimples. I didn't notice a change in my oil production, either. Might work for some, but if blackheads are your main problem like for me, don't expect any changes.

Pros:

reduces pimples

Cons:

fish burps
constipation

After taking fish oil supplements regularly for six months now, I can say I believe it has helped control my acne. I started taking them around the same time I started using the acne.org benzoyl peroxide treatment, which helped my skin a lot, so I wasn't sure if the fish oil was aiding in any way. Now when I sometimes miss taking my fish oil for a day or two, a few pimples appear. Then, as soon as I resume taking fish oil, they go away. I have alternated with the brands since I began taking fish oil and I haven't noticed if one is better than the other. Right now I am taking the Nature Made brand. The only major drawback for fish oil for me is that I believe it has made my bowel movements irregular. I never had a problem with constipation until I started taking fish oil. But, I haven't stopped taking it longer than a day or two to see if fish oil really is the problem. Instead, I resulted to taking fiber supplements to help with this.

Pros:

-Didn't make acne worse

Cons:

-Did nothing for redness
-Didn't really help acne at all

I've been taking fish oils on daily basis for nearly 3 years and I can tell you they won't be the miracle cure for your acne, I went on them for my eczema as well as hearing about the benefits for acne and honestly they didn't help either so really don't bother taking for them for help with acne, I just take them for health reasons now

Pros:

Probably good for you

Cons:

Broke me out in cystic acne(NOT NORMAL)

After a few days of taking fish oil I broke out on my chin in FOUR cystic acne bumps! I mean really FOUR. Right next to each other. It was painful, ugly, and I am still recovering. I'm sure this works for some people, but not me.

Pros:

-Healthy glow to skin

Cons:

-Made me breakout

I am 26 years old and I read great reviews on here and other places that Fish Oil is the secret to have perfect skin. I would get about 2 to 3 pimples a month that were controllable and easy to conceal. After a few days of taking Fish Oil, I broke out like I never have before and in odd places. But I decided to stick with it because I thought that it was my skin purging and they say to give it three weeks. About two weeks into my new regiment, I developed a large cystic pimple on my cheek. I have not had one of those in three years. I decided to halt taking Fish Oil because of this. I tried to give it three weeks but there was no way that I was going to risk getting another cystic pimple. They say that if you have oily skin to begin with it can adverse effects. This might work on some but not all.

Pros:

~Reduction in number of pimples
~Skin not so inflamed anymore

Cons:

~If you don't take it with food, you burp up a really gross, fishy taste
~The size of the pills are really big

I really wish I started taking fish oil supplements a lot sooner! I read a book called The Clear Skin Diet, and the author talked about how taking at least 1000 of omega 3 from fish oil everyday helps reduce inflammation in the body, and therefore reduces acne! It's definitely worth a try, but it definitely takes time to see results.

Pros:

my skin is almost 100% better
confidence!!

Cons:

sometimes it upsets my stomach, but it's completely worth it.

I have had acne since I was about 14 and I'm now 20. I've taken antibiotics, over the counter topical medications, retin-A, and even TWO rounds of accutane. I am taking nature's bounty fish oil pills which has 300 mg of omega 3's in each pill. I started taking them 36 days ago. I started taking one pill a day (i'm 95 pounds) then slowly upped it to two pills a day and then finally the recommended dosage of 3 pills a day which is 900 mg of omega 3s. Ever since I upped my dosage to 900 mg a day I have seen almost complete improvement. I have tried EVERYTHING and I really really suggest that if you have had acne for as long as I have to at least give this a try. I created an account just to write this review! I know how tough the struggle is with acne, hopefully this helps you guys too!

Pros:

Miracle for my skin. No more cysts, blackheads gone. Not overly oily. Redness is gone

Cons:

None

I've had terrible acne and oily skin for around 4 years Ive tried EVERYTHING then one day I decided I was doing to much and everything I had been doing to my face was so unnatural it couldn't be good. So I stopped using strong face washes retin A and antibiotics and within a week and a half my skin looks 100x better!! I'm now taking 1000 mg tablets of fish oil twice a day 2 at a time along with a natural face wash that includes jojoba and castor oil.
