Pros:

cheap, household item, makes skin soft, dries other pimples.

Cons:

tatstes SALTY.

I just started using the baking soda mixed with water making a paste two times a day about two days ago. I started using the baking soda to get rid of my very dark acne scars. They have not faded but my skin feels alot softer. Some acne bumps have gone down. I had so many blackheads on my nose and already I see them clearing. I think thats pretty good for just using this for 2 days. After two weeks or so i will report back.

Pros:

Cheap
Very effective
leaves skin soft
doesn't dry skin

Cons:

Can sting if skin is very irritated

About 3 months ago I started to breakout around my nose and it spread to my chin. I tried many different products even cortisone cream which made it worse. I almost gave up and decided to try monistat cream and it kind of helped. I used monistat for a week and it helped but not entirely, so in desperation I thought I would try a home remedy. I started to use baking soda as a scrub in the shower. Then afterwards I used apple cider vinegar as as an astringent and well here I am about 90% cleared up! My skin is the softest it has ever been. I only used the vinegar now when I see eruptions. The only thing about the baking soda is that in the shower using just my hands the scrub effect is gentle, but if u use a face cloth it can be quite harsh. I will never buy face wash or scrub again!

Pros:

Makes skin soft and smooth
Clears acne almost instantly
Inexpensive

Cons:

Stings a little at first.

The bottom line is that this is the best thing I have ever used on my skin. Personally, I don't have the money to be running around spending it on proactive, and skin ID. This method is so inexpensive, and for once, it actually works! After the first day of using it I could feel and see the difference! My breakouts went down significantly! I used the baking soda as a paste (mixed with water) and rubed it onto my face in the shower (after rinsing it with warm water) then rinsed it off with cold water. Everyone has noticed the difference! Sure, my face isn't completly clear, but its getting much better, everybody has noticed the difference! If your looking for an easy cheap way to clear up your acne, this is the product for you! Hope it helps for you too!

I just love Baking soda. and i buy it in my grocery. its works wonders for my skin and my tan as well as acne marks have reduced dramatically in just a period of 15 day. i use it to exfoliate daily before bed and then i apply my night cream. my skin is extremely oily but after using baking soda it has considerably become less oily. i just love it and would want every acne sufferer to give it a try !!!! =)

Pros:

Cheap, good general cleanser especially on oily skin, brightens complexion, natural

Cons:

can be drying

I think baking soda is a good general cleanser for oily skin. I just wet my face and use a little bit kind of like a gentle scrub maybe a few times a week. I have very oily skin, but if I use too much or leave it on too long, it can still over dry my skin. The main pro of baking soda is that it's extremely cheap, but can be just as effective as more expensive cleansers with all sorts of ingredients and chemicals in them.

Pros:

a little less redness

Cons:

doesnt help with acne
is really messy
kinda of gross
no results

ok so honestly i wasnt really impresed with this at all . I had hopes but sadly they were crushed. although iv only done it twice and have little experience with it. I still wouldnt recomend it. I would try it maybe once to see if it would work for you ,but i dont know I never saw any results for me p.s unlike every body elses reviews i never experienced any burring or dryness but yet again thats just me.so i guess thats just if you have dry skin

Pros:

Cheap
Easy
Makes skin soft
Lightens any extra tan

Cons:

Texture
Stings slightly

I used this a few times as an anti-acne exfoliant. I think that's why a lot of people are having a problem with it over everyday, long-term use. Baking soda as a facial treatment is an exfoliant; it isn't meant for everyday use. It is also used to get rid of tans quicker. It doesn't lighten your skins natural tone, but it will help to get rid of a little extra tan. My skin is super smooth after this, though I didn't see much reaction when it came to my acne. I didn't like the texture of this compared to other exfoliants. It felt like I was rubbing micro-sized glass into my skin. Overall, I think it's a great home-remedy (I love making stuff for my skin in the kitchen), it's just not for me. (When it's a texture problem, that usually just does it for me) I'm going to stick to my honey and aspirin for awhile.
