Pros:

Makes skin smoother

Cons:

dryness and flaking after using Lacsal serum and exfol cream

I have been using this for a few days and going slower than what was recommended. The above products using the tiniest amount, about the size of 1/3 of a pencil eraser for the entire face caused redness and flaking of dead skin. i have noticed tiny blacjheads and whiteheads pop up but nothing extreme. I am using the super CP serum on spots like my acne scars. Since i have been using this for a few days I can only tell you what I am experiencing so far. Proactiv HAS caused my skin to get worse over time making it lumpy. Thisis true, that is makes your skin uneven and lumpy. Since using Skin Biology my skin feels smoother and looks smoother. It has not caused cystic acne although I do use Zinc Gluconate to control it. My indented areas on my skin are smoother so far. Overall, I am pleased with what I am seeing so far. I feel like it is dissolving the thickened, damaged skin. My pores arent as large either.

The best. I use it everyday.
Been using this for about a year now on my face. I use it as a moisturizer everyday. It does take a while to absorb so it leaves my face looking a bit "wet" temporarily. Every other moisturizer I've tried leaves a gunky residue on my skin and does not help at all with my dry/flaky skin. Bio-Oil works so well on my dry/flaky skin and counters it completely. Also helps heal red marks left from acne and heal irritated red blotchy skin caused by dryness. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a daily moisturizer to counter their dry skin. A full bottle last for months too because you only need a small amount.

Pros:

Light
Doesn’t make my face greasy
Vitamin E
Even out my acne scars
Hope it will eventually help with acne scars

Cons:

It broke me out a tiny bit at first few days only, which didn’t bother me at all, since I really have felt that something great is on the way.

I can't believe me, that after all of the years with very deep acne scars, I am getting back to something like baby face, my face is getting healthier day by day, even my wife noticed this thing, my acne scars is evening out really well, I just hope that it will help with deep acne scars, so I will keep using this Bio-Oil and keep my finger crossed.

Pros:

None.

Cons:

Greasy and unclean feeling.
Broke me out like you wouldn't believe.

I had cystic acne in my early teens and just a couple years ago began to clear up, until the point where I was no longer breaking out and only had a few small red marks left that I could easily cover with makeup. I'd heard great things about this stuff and decided to try it and see if it could fade my marks. I used it ONCE and my face is now covered in millions of tiny red bumps and scattered inflamed spots. Literally every pore is clogged up. It's an absolute nightmare and if I could I would rate this negative five stars. I don't understand how they're even allowed to sell something so awful. This junk is seriously just mineral oil with fragrance! Disgusting! If you absolutely MUST try this product, please use it on a very small patch of your face and see what happens, as this was literally an overnight reaction. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy and I'd give ANYTHING to un-use it.

Pros:

it has faded my acne scars pretty well in a shorter time than i expected though they are still somewhat noticeable

Cons:

It was itchy the first few times i used it but you really have to rub it in and Im not to fond of the smell or the price

Try to be consistent (at least 3 times a day) and be very patient for results. I have been dealing with acne scars for three years or so after being of acutane. Being in college this didn't really help my self-esteem but after using this product for about a month i have seen more results than with any other product ive tried

awful
I used bio oil for a good year and a half (for my scar) and saw no improvement what so ever. It also takes forever to absorb and it smells like my grandmothers house. I would not recommend.

Pros:

Nice scent
Smoother skin
Works on scars (not acne scars though)

Cons:

Makes me break out

I have used this product for a scar on my knee and it worked wonderfully. Unfortunately, I have used it on my face for about a month and I did not see that much of an improvement. Furthermore, if you apply it to acne prone places and don't use BP beforehand, you are likely to break out.

Pros:

as soon as i get home, i wash my face and i put mederma on. i re-apply about 3-5 times before bed. it REALLY DOES WORK! i have been using it for about a week and im seeing improvement already on old and new scars. and even on exising acne! i love it.

Cons:

i dont like the smell. and sometimes it causes my skin to itch. but it DOES NOT irritate it. i think its just the medicine working. it doesnt cause my skin to turn red or break out. it just itches. but i try my best not to scratch it!

if i honestly had one product for skin care to swear by... it would be mederma. not only has it lightened my existing facial marks... its cleared up my skin. i cant say it'll do the same for you. but it has truly worked wonders for me. even my friends have noticed the difference! i hope that this review will encourage someone else to purchase this amazing product!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
