Pros:

cleanser is nice and doesn't make skin feel tight or leave film.
lotion is hydrating and leaves skin feeling soft.

Cons:

lotion can get greasy.
exfoliating treatment gel is the worst product in this whole kit because it has extremely harsh ingredients and causes more breakouts.

PLEASE FOR ANYONE OUT THERE WHO IS USING MURAD, STOP AT THIS VERY MOMENT! I will tell you exactly why, first of all the exfoliating treatment gel made me "purge" for 3 months! It did absolutely nothing for my skin except cause more breakouts everyday and it also feels very tacky on the skin and can burn a lot when first using it. The clarifying mask sinks deep into the pores and is hard to take off leaving skin irritated. All in all, the whole kit itself SUCKS. Please for the sake of your skin, do not try murad.

Pros:

Tingling feeling, Refreshing. Cleared skin quickly

Cons:

Price... Would be better if it was more affordable

I've tried many products including Proactiv and Acutane. I know a lot of people are going around saying not to try Murad cause it irritated their skin or whatever reason but I have to say I had the same experience with other products. The bottom line is you never know what will work for you until you try it. Unfortunately that means trying a lot of different products out there. Luckily Murad helped me out, it cleared my skin and really reduced my redness and has overall improved the feel of my skin. It would be great if the price was a bit more affordable but I guess we can't have everything.

Pros:

It reduced my blemishes really fast

Cons:

When i continued to use it, it dried out my face and i started getting more pimples.

This product only works for certain people and what i do is use it once a month. I use other products but i inconsistently use this and it clears my pimples right away.

Pros:

Worked a little, reduced spot size but didn't stop new spots from coming.

Cons:

Didn't really work all in all

I've used this for 3 weeks with no improvements, so I'm going back to Benozyl Peroxide.

Pros:

Great product, Nice clean feeling to your skin, and it works pretty quick!

Cons:

pricing is a bit edgy, but you get what you pay for.

I have been using other face cleaners for a while, but then i was still breaking out. I was told by my older siblings to use Murad, and what a choice I made! Pricing is a bit expensive, but wow I had some pretty bad acne on my forehead, but after a week or 2 there all gone!

Pros:

This product definitely seems to work. My acne isn't completely cleared yet but very nearly.

Cons:

The instructions supplied with the kit in the UK are utterly feeble and inadequate. Possibly they are written for teenagers who won't read the instructions anyway.
Also - this product is good but needs to be used with care.

I followed the instructions for four successive applications (evening/morning/evening/morning) but after the fourth application my face was very dry, red and blotchy. The instructions say you should carry on for four weeks but unfortunately I have a life to live, so I ignored the instructions and stopped. I washed my face with water and put on ordinary moisturiser. The next day my face looked great - far from perfect but a huge improvement. I repeated the same procedure a week later over the weekend. This time my skin didn't react so badly, but there is no way I could use this product in the morning and then go to work.

Pros:

Cleanser makes skin feel clean.

Cons:

Dryness,redness,swolen allergy to product

I myself used proactiv for years and noticed it wasn't helping anymore. So i decided to try Murad after reading about it i thought it might be a good investment. My acne is moderate soemtimes severe depending on the time of month. I used it for 2 days and on the 3rd day i woke up to find my face extremly swolen my eye almost swolen shut and my face red and bumpy. I am returning this and i think they should refund the shipping because its a bogus products. Would not recommend i am now goign to try the acne line from Beauti Control i have been told it works well.

Pros:

the lotion is soothing to your skin

Cons:

you break out worse than when you started, worse than your entire life

i saw the infomercials on t.v., and they were describing all of the symptoms that i had with my skin. i decided to order it thinking my skin would clear up, but i was wrong. i was so excited to get it in the mail especially since they said my face would clear up in like a month, but it didn't work. my face is now worse than it has ever been in my entire life. people invite me places but i'm too embarrassed to go anywhere with my skin looking like this. i stopped using it, and almost instantly my skin started to clear up. this stuff does not work! you just get bigger and more pimples than you've ever had in your life, and in places you've never broke out before. i'm really depressed because of my skin and how it currently looks. this product has ruined my life, and i'm not over exaggerating.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
