What Is It?
Verapamil is a drug that is normally used as an anti-hypertensive (anti-high-blood-pressure) drug. In the case of raised acne scarring, verapamil is injected directly into the raised scar in order to reduce the size and thickness of the scar.
Verapamil is not always effective, and is normally used on small to medium sized raised scars. It is unknown, but suspected, that scars may sometimes grow back after treatment.
This procedure is normally repeated up to 8 times in 3-week intervals.
