A more dangerous way of using benzoyl peroxide that studies show works a bit better than benzoyl peroxide alone. However, when used properly, benzoyl peroxide on its own can completely clear the skin without the addition of antibiotics.

MUST TRY THIS DRUG
This drug is a miracle. I have tried everythinggggg...even acutane. Acutane cleared my skin but approx. 6months after using that drug I started to break out again. Onexton cleared my skin incredibly fast and cleared my skin better than acutane did. I HIGHLY recommend this drug

Hello, I've been on onexton as well as Tazorac for 3 weeks now. And my skin has gotten incredibly worse than when I had first started. I'm curious... Did you experience this? Did your skin have a bad "purge"?

Tazorac and other retnoids like differin and retin-a make my skin break out like crazy! They're terrible for me. Maybe stop that and see what happens because I've heard only good things about onexton. I just got my prescription today so hopefully it works!

Satisfactory
I've used Clindoxyl previously while on Diane-35 and it cleared my skin up perfectly in about 3 months. Diet, exfoliation or sweat did not affect my skin. I went off Diane-35 and there was a back-order of Clindoxyl and in about 8 months by moderate acne came back. I have been back on Clindoxyl for 10 weeks now, applying it every night after moisturizing (before moisturizing tends to irritate my skin way too much) and my acne is mostly improved. Exfoliation with just a washcloth still makes me break-out and I can't wear make-up because it will show the dry skin. My skin is also quite rough and red in places but hopefully that will get better once I can decrease the dose to once every other day. Basically, it works, but you have to be quite careful to wash your hands, moisturize enough, but touch/irritate your skin as little as possible.

Cons:

Gets skin dry sometimes
Gets skin tight
Slippery skin when you wash it off with water

I had a lot of acne especially on the both sides of my face I had about 20 each and a lot small ones. I had some on my forehead and cheeks and this cream got rid of all them well 70% in about 15 days works well I recommend it!

Pros:

Works great

Cons:

Says it expires very quickly
It's really expensive without insurance

I had skin issues -understatement-for years. I tried many products and my derm was talking about putting me on something very strong which I didn't agree with, so I got a second opinion and was I introduced to acanya gel. For the first two or three weeks I was using it once a day and wasn't noticing a difference-it was really dissappointing. But toward the end of the fourth week I noticed that this product was working like a charm. It seriously cleared everything up and I swear it is the reason I have not had a cystic breakout in close to 8 months-I used to get these suckers about once a week. I truly think it is a miracle in a bottle and if you are suffering with acne just give it a try- I really hope it works as well for everyone as it did for me, we deserve it!! The only cons are that it is expensive but in my opinion soooo worth the price tag; the other issue is that the bottle says it expires in 2-3 months. I refrigerated my bottle and it lasted me and worked great for close to 8 months. Has anyone else has this experience with acanya? Anyway, I hope you'll give it a try and I hope it's a miracle for everyone else too!

Pros:

Works fast
Clears cysts!

Cons:

Dries skin a little
Can cause initial breakout
Expensive

I have had bad acne since I was 14 and tried Proactiv and other acne regimens with no success. A few years back I decided to see a derm and she prescribed me Clindoxyl gel, I started seeing good results within 2 weeks. Within a month my skin looked amazing! Recently my acne has come back so I am back on Clindoxyl gel. I assume this is because I was inconsistent when I used it. Please be aware that when you are using this prescription that you must stick with applying it once in the morning and once before bed if you want to keep the bacteria away! Even if your skin is staying clear keep applying the Clindoxyl gel, otherwise the bacteria will come back causing you more breakouts! Use up your complete prescription (ex: I was prescribed Clindoxyl for 6 months, so I must use it for the 6 full months) Also because Clindoxyl gel is killing the bacteria under your skin you may break out worse, do NOT stop applying it. Your breakouts will get better! Believe me it is worth it! If you find that your face is burning or stinging apply the Clindoxyl gel for only 15 minutes and then wash it off, my pharmacist told me to do this because I have very fair and sensitive skin. It still worked amazing! This is a great way to keep your skin clear as long as you stick with it! Good luck!!

Pros:

The pimples were smaller and went away faster

Cons:

it dried the crap out of the skin around my mouth and actually caused it to break out pretty bad. I definitely think its gotten worse, although its not as bad as it was a week ago.

Really not worth it. Gave me false hope

Pros:

works very well at clearing up pimples
pretty fast acting
agreeable with skin

Cons:

very strong , so could tend to dry out skin a bit
you have to use it consistently or your acne will come back

overall i would say this product is worth it . it cleared my acne almost completely within about 6 weeks . one thing to be sure of when using clindoxyl is to only apply it where you break out or have acne already , if you put it on your entire face it will dry it out like crazy . it may cause a bit of dryness but you can always fix that with a good moisturizer . helped with a lot of my scarring too ! i would give this product a try , ive tried just about everything and nothing worked except this .

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
