Pros:

Clears skin
Dreams are SO vivid
Boosts immune system
Makes skin soft

Cons:

Must take with big meal otherwise you'll feel nauseas

This definitely works for hormonal acne. I've had acne on and off since I was 18 and the only medications that got rid of it were birth control and tetracycline. After it coming back after stopping both products, I was almost ready to give up until I read these reviews. I decided I'd give it a try and see what happened. While my skin is not completely clear yet, it has almost completely cleared up my cystic acne and I can tell the difference from day to day. I also use honey mask at least once a day as well as drinking 1-2 cups of green tea a day. If your acne is hormonal, this product should totally work for you too! :-)

Hopefully this is the comment that makes you go: "Alright I'll give it a try!". One of the 600+ comments on here was that one for me, and I can't thank enough the person who took the time to write it! Good Luck!

It really works! Try it!
First of all, sorry if my english is not perfect, I'm not an english person. I'm 21 and by February my skin started getting acné, I used to have one zit here and one there but since February my cheeks started having the worst acne that I've ever had, cystic acne. Totally desperate, I tried almost everything, I also went to the doctor and she gave me antibiotics. One day I went to an herbalist shop to buy vitamin A and E for the skin and the salesman told me that zinc is known to help acne, too. I only bought the vitamin A and E but when I got home I started my research about zinc and I read ALL the reviews on acne.org about using zinc supplements, ALL OF THEM. (Thank you universe for this). I had to buy that zinc and 2 days after my research I had my 120 capsules of zinc (50 mg of picolinate zinc). It's been less than a week (6 days) after I started taking it and O-M-G, it really works and it really helps, I'm freaking out with this zinc, it also helps me to sleep, I'm not tired as I used to be and my face is f*cking healing. I'm not 100% clear but my skin is way better than it was. I'm totally sure that after a month or more my face is going to be perfect! (I couldn't wait to write a review). For your information, I'm taking 50mg of picolinate zinc (Now Foods) after breakfast and I've not noticed any side effect, not nauseas, nor stomachaches, nothing. I must say that I'm taking the antibiotics with the zinc (zinc at breakfast and antibiotics at lunch) but honestly I started seeing changes after I started taking zinc supplements (I had taken antibiotics for 10 days before zinc). So, zinc is the key. I'll keep updating this to tell you about my progress.

So helpful
I have been an acne sufferer for as long as I can remember. Ive tried every topical and anti-biotic there is. Ive been on accutane twice and none of them have worked for me. After getting so fed up with my acne I finally tried the hollistic approach. I drink 3 cups of green tea a day as well 40 mg of zinc. Im only 2 weeks in, but ive got to say, my skin has never looked so good. Its funny how such simple things can make a huge difference. I have not been getting any new pimples(as of now at least), and I could not be happier. I really recommend trying this approach. Ive had mild to severe acne for the past 8 years and really hope this is a long-term help with my skin.

This really works! I started taking this about two weeks ago after finding out about it on the Internet. I was at the end of my rope. My cystic acne was so bad around my mouth that I didn't want to leave the house. I was so embarrassed. I would say towards the end of the first week, I could see a drastic difference. My acne cleared up and I could tell my skin was a lot less oily. Right now, I do have 2 pimples, but it is that time of the month and 2 is a lot better than 10! Also, when they do come, they don't stay very long. I will wake up and they will have shrunk considerably over night. I take 50mg/ day after dinner. No nausea at all. Like others, I wish I had found this years ago. I am 35 and have been struggling with acne since I was a teenager. If you are struggling with acne, try this! You don't have anything to lose.

Pros:

-Reduces Acne
-Reduces Oiliness
-Cheap easy to find at any local vitamin store (bought mine at GNC)

Cons:

-Can cause a bit of upset stomach if not taken with food

-I've been taking zinc 50 mg for a few months now (3 1/2 months) and its definitely been working well -(I've been on the regimen as well so its hard to say if its the pills or the regimen) but its definitely interesting to note that as soon as I started taking the Zinc pills 1 a day usually after supper (in combination with 3 fish oil pills with breakfast) that my face went really clear so I'm pretty confident in saying Zinc has helped a lot! -Also if your like me you dont like going on quests to find products, this is a simple product nothing crazy you can find it at any supplement/vitamin store like GNC for 9$ its nothing drastic/ easy to use and works great! *ps while your at GNC or vitamin store buy omega 3 fish oil pills the combination of that and Zinc 50 mg a day is that much better

Pros:

Reduces Inflammatory Acne
Reduces Redness

Cons:

Stomach Aches

I have only been using this for a week but I can safely say that this is an effective holistic approach for those that no longer want to ingest oral prescriptions. I have more energy and my face has cleared up 50% in LITERALLY 5 days! Incredible. But mostly- be sure not to take over 100mg of this. If you are taking Chelated Zinc 50 mg DO NOT take more than 1 pill a day or it may become toxic. I take this in combination with 4 pills of Calcium Citrate [2 with dinner, 2 before bed] (DO NOT take Calcium Isotope, it's a BigPharma scam), 3 Pills of Fish oil tabs [2 in the morning, 1 during dinner] and a multi-vitamin [1 morning]. I will also be trying Colostrum for my Irritable Bowl Syndrome. Good luck and hopefully you see great results as I have.

Pros:

Clearer skin!
A natural remedy

Cons:

Nausea

My acne used to be severe. I've been on Accutane twice, as well as birth control, and now it's not severe anymore. However, my skin is still finicky. I know now that for me, it's at least partially linked to diet. The only acne treatments that have EVER worked for me have been internal - Accutane, birth control, dietary changes. Topical stuff does squat for me. Which is why zinc intrigued me. I had a flare up last weekend (stupid dairy), and after reading reviews of zinc on here, I decided to try it. The spots from the flare up - both of which were inflamed - shrank to scabs overnight. The scabs have pretty much flaked off since, and I haven't had any more breakouts. My complexion looks clearer, brighter and prettier, and I'm honestly shocked that it worked this well. I didn't have bad acne post-Accutane, but the small bumps I was getting were fairly persistent. Not this past week. It did give me some nausea, even with food. I bought 50mg pills of Nature's Bounty chelated zinc. It wasn't MISERABLE nausea, but after a few days of an achy stomach for about an hour after taking it, I decided to split the pills in half and take 25g in the morning and 25g at night. Problem solved. I'm really excited that I found this. Thank you to everyone who's written a helpful review. I was really scared to get off Accutane, and I'm glad to know there's something safe, affordable and natural I can keep taking to maintain my pretty results :) All I can say is give this a shot. My expectations were exceeded.

Pros:

Helps acne heal quicker
Reduces oil production
Got rid of eczema as well
Helps with dandruff
Raises libido
Cheap

Cons:

Makes me nauseous
Have to take with food

I've used zinc for the last few months. I've read a lot of reports of people saying that they have gotten clear in just a few days. Even though I don't say that their statements aren't true, it has not worked for me that way. I saw results after a few weeks of using zinc. As far as I've been told, it will take new spots a month before they come up. So it is natural for zinc not to clear you in just a few days, as any acne treatment for that matter. I did try taking zinc before and usually I quit after a week or so, not seeing results and the zinc making me nauseous. For all those people that are experiencing the same, hang in there for just a few more weeks. My acne has gotten a whole lot better, especially on my back. I've noticed that the oiliness in my face is also greatly reduced. It has given me other benefits as well, helping my eczema and dandruff, and I've noticed an increased libido. The one thing I don't like about zinc is that is makes me nauseous every time, even a little bit if I take it with food. But for me, the benefits outweigh the nausea. I began taking 60 mg of Now Foods L-Optizinc (30 mg in the morning and 30mg in the evening), and after a few weeks I've lowered the dose to 30 mg, which is fine. I've tried other types of zinc in the past but they didn't seem to work as well as the Optizinc one. The cheapest I've found so far is on iHerb, the code UPU014 gives you a 5 dollar discount.
