Definitely worth a try!
Started taking 10 000i.u Vitamin A and 20mg Zinc about a month ago. I also started washing my face with Dove soap and a manual facial brush because I wear makeup regularly, I then moisturize with the Dove baby sensitive lotion. This has taken away all my acne (which I've had consistently for about 9 years now).. It's worth a try

Zinc For The Win
It works very well for acne. Combining it with a fish oil and multi vitamin supplement everyday helps even more.

Not my Cure
I took Zinc 50/mg daily for 4 months with evening premise oil and have noticed no changes. This did not help me.

Right Dosage for Zinc
How much zinc should I take? Is it good for me to take 50mg? I have pimples but not that severe, my breakout is every other day and what combination of vitamins is best for acne? Thankyou.

Zinc is an essential trace element for humans, and there is evidence that it is similar to antibiotics in improving the condition of inflamed acne. The effective dosage is not clear. However, most studies indicate 50-100mg. We advise you not to take any more than 100mg because excessive zinc may lead to deficiencies in other vitamins and minerals. These supplements can upset your stomach. To prevent nausea, always take Zinc with food. We are also recommending that you discontinue taking the zinc once you are completely clear. We are not suggesting this as a preventative.

good addition to skin routine
I started taking zinc gluconate tablets a couple of months ago now, they're not too expensive so I thought id give them a go instead of piling more products onto my skin. I live in the uk and got my tablets from Holland and Barrett , I have generally seen an improvement in my skin and the amount of breakouts I've been getting recently has reduced however its difficult for me to tell whether this is a result of the zinc or a combination of other factors as I've been altering my skincare routine a decent bit recently and introducing a few new products. overall I think it may have helped my skin at least a little and thats good enough for me. it might work better for you but since its not much of an investment ill probably keep taking them.

good

Pros:

strong and healthy nails and hair

Cons:

none

I'm not sure how much this has helped my acne (comedonal), but I do notice that I have really great strong nails, my skin's overall brightness is improved, and my hair is very strong and shiny. I took fish oil for these concerns previously (I stopped taking because it caused cystic acne for me) The zinc seems to be much more effective for those concerns than the fish oil ever was for me.

Working great

Pros:

Cost less
Reduces oil
Skin gets clear but with time

Cons:

Takes ages to finally see results
Needs to be taken with food

I have been taking tetracycline for years and my doctors would never let me be referred to the dermatologist cause i was only 15 , and i had moderate to severe acne. I tried all the drug store cleansing products but my skin seemed to respond from changes internally which the antibiotics did but then stopped working and never got me 100% clear. So i researched on here and tried a few remedies but still no luck then i stumbled across these reviews and gave it a try and that was the best choice! I take bio zinc twice a day now and my skin is 85% clear but what i noticed is that the oil has reduced dramatically !

Pros:

Cheap
Breakouts heal/go down faster
Better immune system

Cons:

Horrible nausea (even when taken with meals)
No significant changes in frequency of breakouts

The bottom line is that this product is in no way a cure for acne. I think at best it is something to be incorporated into a topical regimen in order to give it a little extra push. Purchase with caution. Oh, and bring a barf bag for the nausea that is sure to come.

Pros:

it was effective for a few days.

Cons:

it makes me feel sick, and want to vomit

it was effective for 5 days. one cyst was cleared after some days only. at first really i notice some effect. but on the fifth day, i felt very sick. then small cysts begun to appear which is quite weird cz i usually get one after the other (and just takes a long time to go away). then i still continue to take zinc every night 100mg. and the small cysts got bigger. wtf! i didn't reach the two-week period. i stopped using it.why is it effective to others? it didnt even take away the redness. it just take away one big cysts and replaced it with 6 small cysts (btw, this small cysts are now big.f**k zinc!)
