It’s not going to do anything for red marks! Marks will go away with time... expoliating accelerates the process!

My skin has got loads better, only once spot since taking it and this wasn't as bad. Eat with food and its fine. I saw results almost instantly. Even pores on nose are smaller.

Wasn't For Me
I'm 14, almost 15 in a few days. I would get one pimple on my nose every few months at 11 and 12. I've had mild acne since I was 13. I was taking zinc for 43 days. I usually took 2 supplements a day, sometimes 1, rarely none. After the first day I noticed a slight difference but then my skin basically stayed the same but I had hope if I took it long enough it would work. I stopped taking zinc about a week ago because I noticed my hair was falling out. Mind you I'm 14 and have really thick hair. My hair is pretty thin now. It doesn't look that thin but if you feel it and put your hands through my hair and scalp it feels pretty scary. I have no bald spots though. It's still falling out when I brush it but not as much. It's probably due to take 2 supplements a day (50mg each). Now I'm just gonna try only washing my face with water and see how that goes, wish me luck. :(

What happened is that you accidentally created a copper deficiency in your body by taking too much Zinc. Signs of copper deficiency are hair thinning/baldness, fatigue, unexplained weight loss, anemia etc. The recommended daily supplemental dosage for Zinc is only 15-25mg So you essentially need to half a 50mg tab of Zinc- maybe break it up further too. I hope your hair is growing back! :(

it works great
I tried Zinc 30 mg. Thank you, internet. Zinc is great! I have 90% less breakouts than I used to have before. Much less cystic acne. My skin looks so better now. And don't forget: If you want to try Zinc, you must take Cooper too.

Great Product
Definitely take with plenty of food, otherwise you will be nauseous. I noticed a difference within the first week.

Only thing which has worked
I had quite severe cystic acne for over ten years, on and off, continuing into adulthood, and tried EVERYTHING. Eventually my derm prescribed me roaccutane which I was very reluctant to take; I wanted to avoid harsh chemicals, so starting using acne.org to research healthy alternatives. I started taking daily effervescent zinc (10mg), vitamin c (1000mg) and cod liver oil about 6 months ago and my acne has all but cleared up! I used to get really bad hormonal break outs around my chin and jaw (two or three new angry, painful cysts every morning which stayed on my face for months) but now maybe will get one small cyst every couple of weeks which goes within a week or two. I'm left with some red marks but these are starting to fade now too. My skin care regime has been the same for about a year (gentle cleansing and salicylic acid moisturiser), so it must be the supplements - I really can't recommend trying zinc enough! I never thought it would work, but it really has, and I can finally leave the house without make up!

Pros:

Cleared up cystic acne
hastens up healing process
very cheap

Cons:

took a few weeks to see results

I recently turned 33, and I HAD severe acne. Cystic all along my jaw from hormonal imbalance, and all the other smaller Acne. I tried everything except Accutane. I started taking zinc, and two months later I have no acne, and the marks are going away beautifully. Do your research. Can cause copper deficiency, and nausea. So worth trying!

Pros:

Cleared up acne in a week.
Reduces redness.
Reduces oil.

Cons:

None.

I have suffered from acne for a few years and recently it has gotten slightly better, but nothing drastic. Acne.org pointed me in the direction of zinc (Source Naturals Optizinc Zinc Monomethionine 30mg), so I gave it a try in combination with vitamin D3 (Now Foods Vitamin D3). These two supplements have eliminated the final stragglers on my face. Redness has reduced and my oil production has decreased significantly. My face is finally smooth and I honestly believe zinc made the difference.

Pros:

- Proven to work
- Cheap

Cons:

- You have to be consistent

I have been using zinc to treat my light acne for about a year and a half and I can safely say that I haven't found something as effective to greatly diminish my breakouts. I take 22,5 mg in the morning and 22,5 mg before bed.

Pros:

* Seems to help skin heal quicker.
* Might be preventing new pimples!
* Less redness

Cons:

* Weird metallic taste in my mouth sometimes.
* Might be giving me weird dreams every time I sleep (even naps).
* Might be making me more drowsy than usual.

So I've only been taking this for about 5 days now, but my skin (so far) is MUCH better. I'm on my 3rd month of spironolactone and my skin was doing a lot better but all of the sudden about 2 weeks ago it went CRAZY. I've also been breaking out on my forehead which has NEVER been an issue for me until I started the spiro, so hopefully it'll go away with time. Plus almost all of my acne is like mini-cysts under the skin so it's kindof unusual .Anyways I couldn't take it anymore so 5 days ago I decided to try zinc. I take 50mg after dinner every night and I'm going to keep taking it because so far I haven't had anything but good results. I'm not sure if acne.org lets people edit their reviews, but if I can I'll come back and edit this in a couple weeks to give an update on my results. Give this a try, people. Seriously, you honestly have nothing to lose.
