Pros:

Erm, it works.

Cons:

None; I like the smell.

I have super sensitive skin, so I can't use many products, and definitely none that are supposed to fight acne (anything that contains Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, or Salicylic Acid, among other things breaks me out). I have used this product for a little over a year now, and throughout all my skin care routines, this has never turned on me. I use Dickinson's 14% Witch Hazel Extract toner. I recently switched to using this only once a day (in the morning). I now use lemon juice at night as a scar treatment. But when I was using it twice a day, it worked just as well. People complaining about the smell worried me, but it really doesn't smell unpleasant. It smells a bit outdoorsy, but it doesn't carry. No one else can smell it, and after 5 minutes, I can't either.

Pros:

deep cleans my pores,NO MORE ACNE,

Cons:

The smell isn't that great but you get use to it after awhile

I'm 22 and I was breaking out really bad I didn't know why, so I tryed everything to proactive to tea tree oil which just made me acne worse. I didn't know what else to do it was really putting me down to the point where I didn't want to go anywhere. So my last resort was to surf you tube and see what other people were trying, I found a useful video and the girl said witch hazel helped out her skin alot. So I went to walmart the next day and bought it,and the first 2 weeks of using it ALL my acne vanished I couldn't believe it, It's magic in a bottle I wont ever stop using this product.

Pretty great!
I got the Dickinson's witch hazel bottle the other day from my local Walgreens. I have to admit, it makes an amazing toner make sure to put it on a couple of times a day, and it will definitely clear your pores and get rid of excess oil! It's not a miracle product of course, but it really improves the quality of your skin :))

Pros:

-reduces acne
-reduces acne marks/scars
-refreshing
-feels CLEAN
-ACTUALLY WORKS

Cons:

-smell isn't bad but I was taken back the 1st time lol
-dries out skin but I'd rather have dry skin then bad acne, its worth it

I just started using WH a few weeks ago after seeing a friend use it, I asked her what it did and I bought it on a whim. Like many, I've tried everything for my acne; proactiv, murad, nutrogena, clean and clear, etc. So I was open to anything. Even though its only been a few weeks, I can already see a huge difference. My face is less red, my current acne is smaller, my face is smoother and I can see acne scars fading which is important to me since I'm only in my 20's. My only complaint is that after the 1st week I noticed my face got a lot drier. I'm not happy about it but I'd rather deal with that by just put moisturizer on rather than having bad acne. I find it myself using it 3x a day, when a wake up (your face is dirty from sleeping due to pillows, drool, etc), after work (sweat and to relax) and again before I go to sleep (dedication I guess lol). I would completely recommend witch hazel to anyone who's fed up trying product after product. Go natural!

Pros:

- Evens skin tone (reduces redness)
- MILDLY dries tiny pimples
- Rids surface oil

Cons:

None.
Some people may not enjoy the smell, but I've become inure to it and it really doesn't bother me. Actually...I kind of like the smell!

I've used witch hazel on and off consistently since around December, and every time I go through a bottle, it works wonders. I've found it VERY helpful for my minor body acne. I've had acne on my chest and back since I was approximately 13. It's the most awful feeling in the world, I know. Mine's not severe in any way; on my chest, I get lots of oil plugs that turn into whiteheads. On my back, I get those sporadic, enormous, extremely painful, inflamed mega-pimples. Witch hazel always seems to do the trick. I take a cotton ball and soak it in witch hazel, then liberally (gently) wipe down my neck, shoulders, chest, and back twice a day, once in the morning, and once after an evening shower. It works for me. Now, for my face. I don't have bad acne at all, just noting. My skin is super-oily though, so I ALWAYS get oil plugs, whiteheads, and blackheads, with the occasional big, bad pimple on my chin, which I have one right now for the first time in two months :( But anyways, back to the point! :) I usually take pure aloe (from the plant) and wipe it across my face, then once that dries, follow up with a witch-hazel-soaked cotton ball. Note: It does seem really sticky, but the mixture dries and creates a soft sheen. When I wake up in the morning, my skin is always left smooth, glowing, tight, and best of all, pimple-free!

Preparation H with 50% witch hazel.
Hello. If you like witch hazel, try Preparation H Cooling gel, which is 50% witch hazel and phenylephrine .25%. The phenylephrine helps reduce blood flow to a pimple or cyst, thus reducing the redness and pain. Witch Hazel also has these properties. It is a gel, so the witch hazel will stay where you put it, and penetrate better. Use it for spot treatment, not your whole face. The name says cooling but there is no menthol. Try it. It seems to reduce the life of the pimple, while reducing redness. Only buy this specific type of Preparation H. The other creams or gels don't have witch hazel. I know this product is not specifically for acne, but I've read on other sites that people had some success with this, so use at your own risk.

Give it a try!
Im 16 years old and I work at a fast food restauraunt and I deal with a lot of grease and messy stuff and I have to wear a hat that constantly rubs against my skin which causes bumbs and a whole lot of acne to appear. At first I was only using St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub (Target $3) for my face every day, it would somewhat help. So I went to Walgreen and I bought some Witch Hazel ( 16 FL. OZ, $6) and only used that but that didnt help either. My skin is bery sensitive so I was kind of afraid to use both at once. Considering my prom is coming up I went for the risk. I completely washed my face with the St. Ives Apricot Facial Scrub let it sit for 2 minutes wsshed that off, I pat dry my face and I put some Witch Hazel on my face just about 3 times. When I woke up my face was pretty clear and obviously had some blemishes here and there but it looked SO much better then before. I totally recommend St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub with T.N Witch Hazel they both work great together.

Pros:

- Nice odor
- Cheap
- Dries oil
- Makes face feel clean
- Cheap

Cons:

None

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!! It makes my skin feel super clean and fresh. I love the smell of it and it is totally cheap. It feels very refreshing to clean your face with witch hazel and it makes your skin feel very tight and clean. I believe witch hazel is the best cleaner as I wash my face in the shower and then with witch hazel and a cotton ball. I always see remaining dirt on my face after my shower so I use this stuff all the time.
