Strong recommending

Pros:

you dont need to be harsh with application
clears quickly with shower treatments
you dont need to use much

Cons:

smells a little bad but i got used to it
daily application. Morning Afternoon and Night time (after meal courses)

i have nasty acne around my chin crease and hairline and i sweat like crazy and my acne got worse after all the treatments i have tried over the years. So when i got Witch Hazel, the first night i could already see a difference. my acne cleared up quickly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with the same skin conditions. This also works on any part of the body not just the face. i had acne all around my back and it cleared up after a couple days. This product works great, so if your sick of treatments that don't work, this can cure the curse of acne in an instant. I strongly suggest it!

Pros:

cleans skin without stripping
feels soothing
visibly absorbs dirt and excess oils
cheap! :D

Cons:

the smell, maybe? I kind of like it, hehe.

I have very sensitive skin. Nearly every type of foaming or sudsy cleanser causes breakouts. Same for toner. Alcohol-free, "sensitive skin", "gentle" toners send my oil glands into overdrive within 24 hours. I normally use diluted Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner, but after a while the slight burn was a bit too much for my skin (and eyes). So, I took a gamble with Witch Hazel and so far so good! It's such a cheap simple product that, although experience has proven that simple works best, I doubted its prowess. My acne has calmed down considerably and my skin feels pretty soft after applying it. It's a keeper!

Pros:

Cleans face very well, doesn't dry skin, very affordable

Cons:

None so far.. the smell is barely noticeable, guys.

I am using Dickinson's Witch Hazel, and it has improved my face dramatically in four days. Since I hit 17 y/o, my skin stopped being flawless, but the acne was always controllable. Last year I made the mistake of using Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. It destroyed my face and the acne spiraled out of control. I went from wash to wash, product to product to find a way to reverse the effects of Oil-Free Acne Wash. Some products would work somewhat and then stop working. Some would seem to fix things but they end up turning against my skin. I even tried baking soda on my face, and that one works awesome for a while, but later it just doesn't do anything anymore. Witch Hazel saved my life. It's amazing. My sleep patterns are off, because that's the life of a neuro major, but my face has been saved thanks to this product. Now I am looking for something to rid myself of the discoloration caused by acne. Witch Hazel has eliminated ALL the bumps, cystic / non-cystic.

Pros:

- Inexpensive
- Cleanses (residue, dirt, oil, makeup, etc.)
- Gentle
- Soothes skin
- Evens out skin tone
- Healing properties
- Works for skin discoloration and acne scars (overtime)
- Multi-purpose (can be used not only as a toner but also after shaving, minor cuts, bruises, etc.)

Cons:

- Smell is NOT pleasant (smells like liquor)

When I first smelled witch hazel for the first time in my life, I was afraid to use it because of the smell. After lots of research in the internet, I was starting to see how wonderfully it worked for others and I could not help but try it myself. Many people on Youtube even said it changed their lives, it was like magic. And I am so glad I finally bought this to use as a toner!! I don't generally have an acne problem, HOWEVER, I used to breakout occasionally with big pimples on my forehead during my period. Using this, I have not had one pimple on my face in months. I am so pleased! By the way, I use Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner from Wal-Mart. The ONLY reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the smell is really horrible but I'm slowly getting used to it. Because it smells like rum or tequila, I felt like gagging when I first started using it but it's a funny smell you really need to just ignore or suck up because this stuff is amazing despite that!

Pros:

It's Cheap and you can use it to make Aspirin toner (see aspirin mask) It takes away dirt almost as well as isopropyl alcohol.

Cons:

It smells. If you've ever had a "tequila episode" the smell might remind you of the tequila episode. At least it did me. That's why I add a drop of lavender per oz of Witch Hazel, ya know to take the edge off. LOL

it's an awesome base for making Aspirin Toner. (see aspirin mask) I like to in the summer time add aspirin and a few other things to my witch hazel to reduce oil production. But it's Great By it's self Here's my Aspirin Toner Recipe. All of the items listed below are per 1oz of Witch Hazel. 1 aspirin 1 drop of tea tree oil 1 tbs of Isopropyl alcohol 1 drop of lavender (lavender has antiseptic properties and helps heal scars) In the winter I eliminate the Tea Tree oil b/c it's far too drying for my skin...... Ultimately most of the toner is witch hazel wich really get's the job done. For those of you out there that are curious, the above has done WONDERS for my skin. Note the price listed below is by month. B/c initially all the stuff above is expensive but it lasts forever.

Pros:

Cheap, easy to use, economical, natural

Cons:

the smell, can't use alone

This is a wonderful toner for those looking for a natural solution to their acne. I use the Dickinson brand and it helps in balancing out the moisture level and easing the redness and irritation. I put this with a few drops of 100% tea tree oil on a cotton pad and use it twice a day as a toner and it has helped improved my skin texture. No other products (from the expensive name brand infomercial gimmicks, to the popular drugstore names) have helped as much as this. I found that switching from harsh chemicals and fragrances to all/mostly natural have helped the overall appearance of my skin, as well as the acne problem. My 3 main products include: - Face Wash: Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash - Toner: Witch Hazel & Tea Tree Oil - Moisturizer: DeLuxe 100% Pure Shea Butter

Used 3 days breaking out bad but it get worst before better
Ok so to start of two years i was pregnant my skin was the best I ever it had ever been i never could go with out wearing makeup due to my scars but being pregnant I actually could go with out it was a great feeling, also my eating habits definitely change to be more healthy . After having my child my skin started to go back to having acne but it was manageable, once I got on b.c my skin definitely didn't adjust to the changes an it seems to be getting worst. I Google natural ways to heal and prevent acne and first thing popped up was witch hazel went out and got it that night and was so excited to try it. I also purchased hair skin and nail vitamins along with zinc. I've been taking the vitamins twice a day and using witch hazel once in the morning after I wash my face, once before I put my makeup on as a toner and two times at night. I believe my skin is purging because both my cheeks and chin is filled with white heads and painful pimples under the skin. I also am detoxing my body with lemon water and after this container of ice cream is gone I will be going on a no sugar (sweets ) diet to shock my body into being healthy again. I have notice many pimples that haven't come to a head before me using witch hazel are having a head and other ones are forming certain parts of my face and in some areas it hurts. On my of off days Sunday through Wednesday I will be going with out makeup completely. I have my notice my skin softer and smooth as of right now my skin is going through that awkward stage of healing I seen oils also help such a tea tree oil which tonight I'm buy for scaring also along with vitamin e helps when you bust open the gel to move scaring and eucalyptus to open the pores to help remove the infection from the acne and lavender to calm the skin will be my next purchase I am hoping in a few weeks my skin will bounce back I may also get prenantals just to help with my skin and why not lol. I also think I'm ask my doctor for another birth control to help with the extra levels of estrogen never got a refill from the one I was prescribe before but it did clear my skin up a bit last time I used it. I think drinking more soda then water and always having a sweet tooth has definitely took a toll on my body and your body(skin mostly face) will tell you when it needs sonething or to stop something. Hopefully in a few weeks I can give another review or edit this one, to help anyone that may have the same skin symptoms i do. Acne sucks makes anyone who has it badly feel insecure I hate being around my fiance without makeup he tells me he loves me with out makeup but it's hard to believe him when majority of your face is filled with little pores filled with dirt, puss and infection. I tell him all the time that as long as he finds me attractive and beautiful who cares even though I really do. Good luck to you all I though when you got older it got better lol
