Pros:

cleans skin without stripping
feels soothing
visibly absorbs dirt and excess oils
cheap! :D

Cons:

the smell, maybe? I kind of like it, hehe.

I have very sensitive skin. Nearly every type of foaming or sudsy cleanser causes breakouts. Same for toner. Alcohol-free, "sensitive skin", "gentle" toners send my oil glands into overdrive within 24 hours. I normally use diluted Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner, but after a while the slight burn was a bit too much for my skin (and eyes). So, I took a gamble with Witch Hazel and so far so good! It's such a cheap simple product that, although experience has proven that simple works best, I doubted its prowess. My acne has calmed down considerably and my skin feels pretty soft after applying it. It's a keeper!

Pros:

-reduces acne
-reduces acne marks/scars
-refreshing
-feels CLEAN
-ACTUALLY WORKS

Cons:

-smell isn't bad but I was taken back the 1st time lol
-dries out skin but I'd rather have dry skin then bad acne, its worth it

I just started using WH a few weeks ago after seeing a friend use it, I asked her what it did and I bought it on a whim. Like many, I've tried everything for my acne; proactiv, murad, nutrogena, clean and clear, etc. So I was open to anything. Even though its only been a few weeks, I can already see a huge difference. My face is less red, my current acne is smaller, my face is smoother and I can see acne scars fading which is important to me since I'm only in my 20's. My only complaint is that after the 1st week I noticed my face got a lot drier. I'm not happy about it but I'd rather deal with that by just put moisturizer on rather than having bad acne. I find it myself using it 3x a day, when a wake up (your face is dirty from sleeping due to pillows, drool, etc), after work (sweat and to relax) and again before I go to sleep (dedication I guess lol). I would completely recommend witch hazel to anyone who's fed up trying product after product. Go natural!

Pros:

It reduces redness
reduces size of pimples overnight
dries up the pimples/lessen the appearance
relieves the pain of cystic acne

Cons:

Will not erase all of your pimples
Can be a little drying for sensitive skin

I used it for 5 days now and my acne is WAY better. i was actually a bit skeptic before i used it. because the smell was strong (but nice) and some reviews say that it did absolutely nothing to their acne. i bought Humphrey's maravilla lotion because i couldnt find any other witch hazel extract in the store. I use cotton ball and apply it like a toner.--->It works really well!!<---- Though, i think i'd use it every other day. I think you should only use this product if you really have serious breakouts. otherwise, it may irritate your skin. *When it comes to products like this, your skin can get too comfortable with it at first but in the end, its effects on your next break outs won't be as good as the first time. so yeah, just use it when necessary and don't soak up your face with it! Less is always more.

Pros:

Treats Acne, Treats Irritation, Treats Sunburns, Treats Itchy Mosquito Bites, Smells Pretty Good, Shrinks Pores, Removes Leftover Makeup

Cons:

None so far, you're silly if you complain about the smell. I'm 14, have had acne for almost 6 years, and I have never complained about the smell of a product. If it's goal is to help me, then smell is not a factor, the quality of how well it works is.

I had boughten a cheap bottle of witch hazel for the dollar store down the street last year, and used it for a few days. It worked like crap. I stopped using it as a toner, then used it as a spot treatment, still didn't do anything. So, then I washed my face with it. That helped with redness, I guess. I didn't finish that bottle, by the way. Dumped it out. I had gotten sunburns and bug bites, and my mom suggested witch hazel. I said okay, and picked it up at Wal-Mart for about $1.56. I put it in my moisturizer, my face washes (I have a morning and night one), and I've been using this witch hazel as a toner for the sunburns, bug bites and my acne. It's done wonders. The bites aren't itchy, they're gone. Sunburns are basically gone, and they didn't even peel. And my acne's going down like crazy. This is magical. I highly recommend this. Do watch for how much witch hazel is it it. Read the "Drug Facts" section on the back of the bottle. If it says there's 86% of witch hazel or higher, you're good to go! (:

Pros:

Soothes irritated skin within the course of a few days, evens skin tone, seems to be clearing my skin of acne. Also reduces oil. And it's cheap!

Cons:

None, so far! Though some people dislike the smell, I think it smells quite a bit like pottery. It sure is a weird smell, but I don't find it unpleasant.

I've only been using this product for a few days, but I had a terrible breakout earlier and I've added this new product to my vast amount of acne treatments. It may just be coincidence, but since I started using it, it has helped my skin a lot. My skin feels soothed and my acne is less red. What I usually do it just take a cotton swab, apply a liberal amount of Witch Hazel to the swab, and lightly dab it all over your face. If you have and particularly stubborn spots, you can also just put a few drops on one separate area.

Pros:

-less irritated skin
-less pimples
-less redness
-non drying unlike acne creams
-cheap cheap cheap

hormonal acne now under control along my chin I use Purpose twice a day to cleanse my skin. I use a buff at nite to take off my makeup and the witch hazel calms any pimple irritation on my chin. After trying many acne creams and acids and astringents this definitely works the best and is least irritating!

tightens pores
100% natural
Affordable/cheap
suitable for sensitive skin
doesn't dry

Cons:

bad smell
doesn't clear my small bumps (for now)

I use DICKINSON's Original Witch Hazel. It's 100% natural.. I've tried many products from highschool and it only irritated my skin. I spent too much time surfing in the net for the right product that will suit my sensitive, oily, acne prone skin.. and yes!! this is the one!! Skin toners are important. To refine the texture of the skin. The toner doesn't do the job in clearing my whiteheads and blackheads. I'm currently searching for a perfect and natural exfoliating facial wash.. Could you help me guys?? thanks a lot!! ^_^
