Pros:

Helped scars
Considering returning to internal consumption at a much higher dose, to measure it's benefits.

Cons:

Internally did very little the first time round (I took 1600iu a day for around 3 1/2 months)

I'm reviewing this because I'm reading the same thing over and over and I think it's quite baffling. For some people, yes, popping the capsules and putting it's content on your face will be fine, but more likely the majority of you are going to break out. Why? Not because vitamin E oil is comdogenic (it isn't), but because the majority of these capsules will contain other ingredients to aid digestion etc. It is very widely available to buy pure Vitamin E oil, and yes even that may break some people out but that's the stuff you should actually be putting on your face. And it's also very likely it won't break you out. Test your boundaries and reactions, put it on for 10 minutes, see how it goes and then give or take from there. That's what I did, and I ended up being fine sleeping in the stuff, and it massively improved my hyper pigmentation. The reviews on this site have been greatly helpful to me, but it's far more important to do actual research. You will never be able to decipher an individuals whole experience from their review, there will always be influences that you won't know about. Your always going to be taking a risk. Clean your face and hands properly, and apply the oil (H&B do one at 70,000IU for aprox £10). Steaming your face before hand will help it absorb. It will NOT clog your poors, but you MAY have an adverse reaction. They are not the same thing. Wipe it off after 10 minutes, and you will be able to measure if you will react badly in a controllable way. Trust me, this stuff is essential for skin repair, if you don't react badly it will be incredibly good for your scars. Best of luck. X

Nyc review! ;)
October 12, 2010

Pros:

Cheap
Helps even skin tone (including angry, red scars)
Makes skin feel moisturized (but not overly... doesn't seem to be clogging my pores either)
Easy to use
Natural!

Cons:

A bit sticky like honey, but I don't really consider that a problem.

So I've had moderately sever acne pretty much my whole life. I've tried over the counter washes/medications, and prescriptions (Retin-A, Duac). Sometimes they worked for awhile, but for the most part the chemicals made my face dry and scarred. So I decided to try the all natural method... I know different things work for different people, and what may work for me could indeed break someone else's face out even worse... but I felt like I should share my success. Maybe someone else could benefit from it too! For about a week now I've been washing my face with a mixture of: 1 teaspoon (or so) of baking soda, honey, a few drops of tea tree oil, few drops of water, and the oil from one vitamin E capsule. I just mix everything together in a little bowl until it's a not too thick, not too thin consistency. Then wash my face with it in the morning and night. At night (or even in the afternoon, if I don't have to see anybody) I prick a hole in a vitamin E capsule and cover up any acne scars/spots I have. The oil takes awhile to absorb, which is why I do it at night. If there's any extra oil in the capsule at night, I just swallow the pill... supposedly it's good to take it internally as well. I've been doing this for a little over a week now and... wow... my face is clearer than it has been in a LONG time! My red acne scars have faded and evened out... and my face is actually smooth! I had two acne cysts (you know... the pain-in-the-butt, painful kind). After a few days of using that face wash and vitamin E they are nearly gone! I'm so surprised and amazed... I hope it lasts! Surprisingly, the extra greasy oil from the vitamin E hasn't broken me out... so I will keep it up! Good luck to you all out there!

Miracle acne solution!
For the last two years I have started getting breakouts on my face and over time it kept getting worse. It got to the point where I would not want to leave my house or see anyone. I would have to wear makeup everywhere I went! I have tried probably every skin product out there, and nothing had worked! Eventually I started to think that it was never going to go away and I would just have to live with it. But then, I found a great skin care product. It's called EXPOSED. I bought the entire kit and it has worked really well, but not good enough. I still had bad acne, just not as severe as before. My cousin had told me about vitamin E and how his son had an acne problem and it completely cleared his skin. So just a week ago I started orally taking vitamin E and today I woke up and looked in the mirror and noticed how beautiful my skin looks. There's no bumps, no blackheads, no ACNE! It's hard to remember the last time I saw my skin like this. It's so beautiful I don't ever want to makeup again. I cried tears of happiness this morning because I finally found something that works. So now I have my exposed skin care routine, and the vitamin E. I HIGHLY recommend taking vitamin E. I'm going to tell all my friends about it!

Pros:

~Very hydrating for skin when used topically
~Natural
~Relatively cheap
~Helps heal acne after it's been extracted quickly
~Helps minimize scarring

Cons:

~Doesn't completely absorbe, so I wear it at night, but it will come off on your pillow so make sure to put it on before you lay your head down to let it work it's magic.

I have used vitamin e topically after a pimple has come out for years now, and it heals it a lot faster than it would without it. It also reduces the scarring...I never end up with permenant scars, ever. I get the capsules and cut them open, and depending on how bad my acne is I use one or two a night (I also use it for any dry spots and around my eyes because it hydrates so well!)

Pros:

*fades scars and heals acne
*relatively cheap
*available everywhere

Cons:

*can't go outside or will be mistaken for a...gosh i don't even know.

PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!!!! Ok, so I've been using this for a few months now, so I think i'm pretty experienced. Works well...under ONE (well, actually two..) conditions: Number one: Don't leave this on over night. Notice how it's called vitamin e OIL? Leave it on long enough and it's bound to clog pores. a great way to prevent acne at night is to apply Differin/Adapalene gel. If you get the generic brand, one tube is five bucks. no kidding. Number two: which brings me to my next point...DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, use this as a moisturizer. you MUST have a barrier between your skin and the vitamin e oil. for example, if you apply this onto bare skin, OR WORSE, just exfoliated, you are BOUND to break out. I was stumped for days on why I had suddenly broken out, and then i remembered what i had been doing differently: applying vitamin e as a MOISTURIZER. Use a light, oil-free moisturizer first, THEN apply vitamin e. Your pores will just suck up the vitamin e, and rather quickly, unfortunately, if you use this as a moisturizer. days later, you will awake to a mysterious breakout. And only use vitamin e where you have scars/healing lesions, just to be on the safe side. Do not apply this to bare, unmoisturized skin! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

Pros:

Skin get soft, clear and nice in a short period of time.

Cons:

Until now I don't have any complain.

Well, I tried almost everything to cure my acne and nothing worked for me. My acne was getting severe and I had a lot of scars on my face :(. I was a model before I got acne and It was horrible when I had to cover me pimples with makeup. Well, I went to my doctor and she gave me Differin lotion. This was the worst thing I ever tried. My skin got worst, I used it for a 2 months and my face was dry, red and with tons of scars. Then I was looking in the internet and I found an article related to vitamin E. So I bought the capsules and I start using this as a way to get rid of scars. So I stopped using differine and I replaced for the capsules and Baby Johnsons soap. This two products are like a miracle, I don't have no scars, I still have some small little pimples but nothing to complain. I start using this home treatment 3 weeks ago and is working so far. I mean my acne is almost gone so I have to be thankfull. This is what I do every day, I hope this works 4 u guys. 1) When I wake up I wash my face with J&J soap 2) After brackfast I take a pill of Vitamin E. 3) I drink a lot of water 4) After I go to sleep I wash my face with the soap again and then I apply the Vitamin E oil on my face. I hope this works for you. My face is supper sensible so if you have the same skin I have this is gonna be perfect for you. Good luck to all of you :)

Are you using vitamin e gel topically or orally?
March 4, 2016
I experimented lol
I have sensitive skin. No doubt about it. I'm a 19 year old college student and have been fighting acne since freshman year in high school. Junior year of h.s. was the absolute worst with acne so I was on Acutane and after off, was clear for about 4 months then acne again. I used insanely harsh chemicals to fight my acne, I was willing to throw battery acid at my face if I knew it would clear it up; but nothing was doing it. Going into college, I went chemical-free. Here is the process of my experiment: ---------------Applying it directly to face--------------- I read that you can break the capsule and apply it to your face, so I said why not. I have sensitive skin so I was skeptical. I only applied it to half of my face, first only about 15 minutes then washing it off. This didn't cause me to break out so I was happy. Next (still on only half of my face) I applied it to all of my pimples on that side of my face and slept with it on. Did this for about a week, and made that side of my face more smooth, but much worse acne. --------------Just taking the pill--------------------- So I had a big bottle of this so I just decided to start taking the pill twice a day after meals like it suggests on the bottle. I did this with a zinc pill at night. AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE SATISFIED WITH RESULTS!! 95% of my acne isn't there anymore and most scars now disappearing, I must say that I used 100% natural and not the chemical-made kind. (also, during this process I bought a pillow case for sensitive skin)

Which brand did you use to take for vitamin e supplements ?
June 9, 2016
how long were you taking the vitamin e pills and zinc before you saw results?
March 10, 2013

Pros:

Cheap, no need for a prescription

Cons:

remembering to take twice a day, swallowing a pill.

I buy nature made Vitamin E capsules but you can buy just about any brand. I take 1 in the morning and 1 at night. I started to see results after 3 weeks. My skin became more even toned and resilient. My breakouts are less frequent and they are smaller in size. My scars are healing faster than ever.

Pros:

Lightens/vanishes scars!
Easy to use
Inexpensive
Smooths skin!

Cons:

Kind of sticky

I had severe acne from birth control pills and I tried EVERYTHING to first, get rid of the acne, and then second, get rid of the scarring from the acne. I used to put on benzoyl peroxide at night, but that dried out my skin too much and I still had acne in the morning and no change in scarring. I read on this site about how vitamin E has worked for many people in terms of scarring. I bought Nature's Gate Roll On Vitamin E oil and started to use it at night. I would recommend waiting about 20 minutes before heading to bed so the oil can penetrate your pores. I noticed a big difference after just three weeks! It has been three months since I started using it and the scars have almost completely disappeared! My acne has also gotten so much better. I plan on continuing to use it since it works so well for me. I definitely recommend the product!

Pros:

Mositurizing, clears acne spots/damage, does not create more pimples

Cons:

Sticky

I purchased 32000IU from Whole Foods, highest form possible, pure Vitamin E no additives They actually have roll on Vitamin E- so I never get it on my hands. I have only been using it for about a week everyday and all I can say is WOW! I am amazed. I have an olive oily complexion with very severe acne that bruises easily. This has not made my skin extra oily which I am amazed by. I recommend this highly.
