Pros:

Easy to take, inexpensive, works better than anything else I've ever tried.

Cons:

None

I have battled with cystic acne since I was 13. I'm now 44 and in the past few years it has gotten so bad that every couple of months I had to go on antibiotics for the boils. About a year ago I started a vitamin regimen that included 500 mg of vitamin C as well as garlic and vitamin E. I wasn't sure which one it was that cured me, but after 2 weeks, I completely stopped breaking out. When I ran out of the Vitamin C (Kirkland brand non-chewable) I replaced it with a Chewable brand and my acne started to come back. I quickly went back on the Kirkland and my face is clear again. Don't know why no one ever told me about this before. I would have far fewer scars now if I had known.

Pros:

no acnes, no more
reduce excess oil on my face

Cons:

nothing so far

I used to use so many facial wash, starting from light for skin, till some that costs expensive, but my acnes were still comes out Then I started thinking that maybe I need some teratment inside So I bought a bottle of vitamin C, 1000mg, consists of 30 tablets for a month. I drink 1 tablet each day before sleep. In the morning, I wash my face, and I suprised that I have no oil on my face! Also, my face skin looks brighter and soften. I have so many acne scar, and now it's starting to fade! I think the best treatment is not from outside, but inside, and Vitamin C does really work to me! :) But I now stick to Clearasil face wash, and apply some tea tree oil on my face before sleep, then get drink of vitamin C. And they work all together.

Pros:

brightens and produces collegen,strengthens skin.

Cons:

nothing really.

i read that men should take 90 milligrams a day and women should take 75 millagrams a day. any more its a waste of money. but some vitamin c serums can break you out. im kinda experimenting with them. i tell you the best one later. ive tried the md skincare hydrapure c serum, but it is way too expensive and very very little product. it made my face look lighter and less red,but i only used it for 4 days ,im taking it back. chewable ester c vitamins are probably the best bet, because it wont cause damage to your stomach, ect. and its chewy.lol

Pros:

Started working by the end of the say that i started using it! I took 4000mg of it a day, about 1000mg hourly 4x

Cons:

I had to leave the house to get to the grocery store.

This stuff is amazing! I am EXTREMELY happy with it, i dont know what the acne labels are and stuff but i would like to say i had pretty sever acne, covering my jaw line i had red marks and a couple white heads, it was a complete confidence killer, the redness from the acne would just not go away and i had those nasty purple blood marks under the skin, well i started taking the vitamin C and the next day i looked at my cheek and one of the marks was completely gone and the other was fading, all my other acne bumps are not as red and fading away very quickly! I cant put all the thanks to vitamin C as iv also been on a junk food free diet, i drink ONLY water and tea, lots of fruits, dermatologist prescribed minocycline 100mg, and 2 other topical creams that iv been on for about 3 weeks now. I can finally leave the house without wearing makeup and im a guy! so thats a huge relief. I have the best skin i have ever had in the last 2 years. I just think Vitamin C helped reduce the redness.

I never take the time to write on these forums, but i was searching for help with my incredibly stubborn acne. I had taken accutane for six months and it worked like a miracle. I went from having cystic acne for four years to looking like ive never had a pimple in my life. But after a few months all of my acne returned and i was very upset. I didnt know what to do, I didnt want to go back onto accutane bc I was suppose to get a series of chemical peels done. I looked into taking vitamins. I heard great reviews about vitamin c and so i tried it bc i had nothing else left. well wow my skin is glowing, it looks fantastic, my acne has dissapeared within the first week. I havent gotten a break out either. its def worth a try. I take about 2000 mg twice a day for now, but prob next week im going to lower the dosage. Its a miracle, everything i have ever tried has rarely worked. I feel great and my self esteem jumped back up.

Pros:

About a week ago, I began taking 500-1000mg of Vitamin C per day. Plus, I started eating foods high in Vitamin A. The recommended daily intake for Vitamin A is 700 RAE for Women and 900 RAE for Men. Anyway, it totally cleared my mild-moderate acne.

Cons:

Too much Vitamin A can be toxic. Also, taking Vitamin C supplements can irritate your stomach.

Vitamin A and Vitamin C work wonders in clearing your skin. But, I'd suggest incorporating them into your diet, rather than taking supplements of them.
