Pros:

Good for the immune system

Cons:

It doesn't do anything for acne.

Do not expect vitamin c to work. I have been using it every day for years because it is good for the immune system, but it does nothing for acne.

Pros:

Using topical vitamin C has really improved my complexion. I apply it every morning to my face and neck. The number and size of the zits has gone down noticeably, and the ones I get heal a lot faster.

Cons:

When I first started using it, it seemed to cause a little bit of flare-up. Fortunately, the friend who told me about vitamin C warned me this might happen and told me to stay with it. I am very happy that I did!
Topical vitamin C can be pricey, but I have found ReCverin brand to be reasonable.

It has been a real find for me. I don't know why vitamin C skin serum for acne is not better known.

Pros:

I didn't have a cold for the 3 months I took this!

Cons:

It made my stomach upset

I read that Vitamin C helps heal your skin so I thought I'd take the supplements. I may have took too much or maybe I just have a sensitivity to it but it hurt my stomach and it never went away until I stopped using it.

Pros:

Glowing skin, helps get rid of acne scars a little faster than normal

Cons:

Caused me to break out on my chin

I've been using Vitamin C for a week and it has helped my small/medium acne scars heal nicely. It definitely isn't an overnight solution to get rid of acne/acne scars (at least not for me), but it is worth a try because it has sped up the healing process. My skin tone looks almost the way that it would look in the summer time which is great!! I started out taking 2,000 mg of Vitamin C for 3 days (plus 60 mg that is in a Daily Multiple Vitamin that I take). On the third day, 2 pimples that were inactive under my skin flared up very quickly and I was able to pop both of them (luckily!). After the third day, I decided to cut back to 1,060 mg of Vitamin C per day plus eating a couple of oranges. Since then, the Vitamin C caused two other pimples to flare up on my chin. I get those under the skin/cyst-like pimples on my chin so I have to stop with the Vitamin C. It's a shame that Vitamin C is causing pimples on my chin because it has worked nicely on the rest of my face :( Even with the pimples that have popped up on my chin, I'd still recommend trying Vitamin C. I'll just stick with taking what is in my Daily Multiple Vitamin and eating some oranges. It's worth a try, but just know that it most likely won't be an overnight solution and it's possible that it may cause acne to flare up.

Pros:

No side effects. All the health benefits of Vitamin C.

Cons:

I used the pharmaceutical grade 100% Ascorbic Acid powder and it is a little tart and took some getting used to. I have no problems drinking it several times a day now.

I recently started taking no less than 10g, yes grams, a day, to fight a cold I felt coming on. I mean it was one of those, "Ah man, here it comes", body aches, head ache, sinus/congestion. After one day, the cold symptoms seemed to be gone. Kept taking it through the next day, and on day 3 I was out on a rigorous mountain bike ride with no during or after cold symptoms. The horrible crop of big cystic acne that stretched from one side of my neck to the other was still present, but I noticed that it no longer hurt and no new ones had grown over the past two days. I kept taking the Vitamin C and within a few days my neck felt as if everything was healing and drying up. Stopped taking the Vitamin C and a couple new cysts appeared. So, now, I'm back on Vitamin C and I'm having the same healing reaction. I found this site because I just did a Google search to see if in fact Vit-C was an acne treatment or it it was all just a coincidence. By the way, milk makes me break out in that chin line neck area with cysts, although I don't think it is what brought on this aggressive breakout. Hope that helps!

Pros:

It works. I tried everything, tee tree oil, benzoil peroxide and all sorts of face cleansers. But I never thought that acne was caused from the inside. So I tried Vitamin c 2000mg per day. and my acne started clearing. My skin started to lighten and become smoother. I look 2 years younger at least from using this.

Cons:

Must remember to take it after eating.

Its a safe easy solution. Give it a try what do u have to loose except a few bucks.

Pros:

natural remedy for acne and overall immune system health, inexpensive (got a free B complex in a BOGO sale at rite aid!)

notice less inflammation and a healthy glow in my skin (also using retin-a could be that too!)

feel more alert and alive over all.

Cons:

makes me EXTREMELY energetic in combination with B compex to the point where I even annoy myself with my newfound bubbly personality lol

Vitamin C works in COMBINATION with a healthy lifestyle.. for the majority of people don't expect to have great skin if you're not treating your body well! I was at my wits end, ready to contemplate going back on birth control simply because when I get off of it, my skin FREAKS out into moderately severe cystic acne, and then I become depressed... Well, I bought a great book called Healing Adult Acne, by Doctor Richard Fried, a dermatologist, and psychologist .. He explains both the physical and emotional impacts of acne and helps women cope with stress, anxiety, and depression related to acne! Great book, taught me a lot about the true hormonal and follicle causes of acne He recommends Vitamin C in addition to a well balanced diet, lots of water and moderate exercise, topical retinoids or AHAs... try it -- but caution if on birth control like yaz, yasmin, or ocella it warns NOT to mix the two . I am choosing to forgo yasmin or ocella BCP because the side effects are crazy and acne comes back with vengence when stopped taking.. so I'd rather apply retinoids and ingest vitamins and have a healthy body, than a body at risk with age prone to break outs when stopping the hormone treatments!!

Pros:

Healthy looking skin, fades scars.

Cons:

none.

I have been taking 1000mg of vitamin c with rosehips for more than a year now; until then i have not had flue; It also helps my skin to become more smoother and acne scars fade away easily. Take it! If it wouldn't help you with your pimples then just use it to have a healthy body and fight diseases.
