Pros:

Not only helps clear acne, but aids for "Energy and Metabolism".

Cons:

NO CONS

After reading message boards, product sites, medical research papers, and any other amount of research I could find I decided to start a daily dose of Vitamin B-50 (I chose it because it has 500% the daily value dose of Pantothenic Acid or Vitamin B5--or 50mg). This vitamin has been said that it aids the healing of acne and prevention of it coming back. I bought my B-50 at a well-known retail store in the pharmacy/vitamin section, and paid about $5 USD. I also take 1 dose of Zinc, 50mg (333% daily value), which I purchased for about $4 USD. Zinc aids in the immune system, fighting and preventing infection, which I have found is my acne problem, "infected pores". I take one pill of each. I've taken these vitamins for 1.5 months now, and my acne has cleared 95%. Using Zinc and B-50 my face is 95% better with little oil. I only break out a tiny bit during the week preceding my monthy cycle. I use a gentle cleanser and put 2.5% benz'l perox on my face nightly+for spot t

Pros:

Had a drastic decrease in oil production on face and scalp after less than one week.

Cons:

it is a lot of pills to take and sometimes you get some stomach cramps

I have been taking 10 grms per day (5 gr. 4x daily)and I have noticed a drastic decrease in the oil production on my face. All existing zits and other types of bumps started drying up and there is only the dry skin which should dry off and be gone soon. I have been taking it for 5 days now and I hope it continues to decrease the oil on my face. I have had oily skin since I was 16 and after taking accutane about 5 times with no long lasting results, I was just depressed and hopeless. I started reading about vitamin b5 and so far I see improvment. I will do anything not to have to wash my face 10 times a day and not to be feeling greasy all the time. I bought vitamin b5 at GNC. 500mg pills and I take right now 20 pills a day.

Pros:

Cleared up acne fast and prevented bad breakouts

Cons:

high doses and prolonged use caused bad hairloss which took about four months to stop

I first used this after a terrible breakout and saw results within a week. the megadose caused bad hairloss, and to megadose it required a lot so was expensive

Pros:

Saw results within about 3-4 days - My pores shrunk within the first few days and my skin was clear from then on!

Cons:

Initial outbreak - But that's probably just the skin getting rid of any final muck before the B5 works it's magic!

Expensive - I take 20x 50mg tablets/day.
100 tablets costs almost £10

I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a fairly quick fix to very mild acne. I would say it's worth the money!

Pros:

Pores are noticably smaller
Oil production has reduced
Clearer skin

Cons:

So. Many. Pills. Ugh.

I recommend everyone with acne should give this a try. I have been taking 5-7grams a day (10-14 pills) of the GNC Pantothenic Acid. I've only been taking it for about a week and already I am seeing smaller pores, less brake outs and significantly less oil skin. As a woman with oily skin, make-up products have always been tough! Esp eyeshadows, with the B5 I can actually wear eye make up with out it smearing all over the place after an hour! Yay! I take 2 pills (1 gram) every two hours (8,10,12,2,4,6,8) sometimes the times vary or i'll stay up late so i'll take another dose. But it's been working! Amazing results having only done it for a week! Oh, and my brake outs during "that time of the month" hardly as bad as they were. My back is even clearing up nicely. Miracle. Defintally going to keep taking like this until i'm clear then maybe just go to one pill every two hours and reduce like that slowly until I can hopefully just take a maintence dose of 1-2 pills a day!

Pros:

-Less Oily
-Pores appear smaller
-Less frequent breakouts
-Black heads reduced & seem to come to the surface easier for extraction(nose)

Cons:

-Have to remember to take them
-Expensive depending on brand you choose

Seems to work, but not a miracle. Be patient. I bought the Clear5 brand of B5 vitamins ([link removed] I got two bottles and started out with a dose of 2 pills, 3x/day. I've read that a lot of B5 vitamins require mega dosing. Not so with Clear5. I've been on these for 2 months or so now I think. I am now down to 4/day. I have not experienced any hair loss or other side effects. Some other things that I have incorporated with the vitamins: -Drink lots of water(half your body weight in oz) -Get enough sleep -Exercise(sweating is so important) -Natural skin care(Oil method, tea tree oil, etc.) All in all I think this is worth giving a shot. You need to be patient for total results, but I did start seeing a reduction in oil after a couple weeks. Another brand I want to try is Clearzine. Apparently this is even better than Clear5, but I haven't tried it yet.

Pros:

No more oily face!
Helping with my acne..

Cons:

None so far!

Iam updating my review, i reviewed b5 3 months ago wen i started using it.. So its been 3 month today that i have been taking b5. I started with 500mg and then went up to 1 gram.. I kepted goin up a gram every 2 to 3 weeeks and now im at 4 grams. Im really excited to have reached my 3 months because i have read that it take about 3 months to actually see results.. But i used to get alot of cysted acne on my cheeks and smaller whiteheads on my chon area.. Maybe 2 weeks ago i started to actually see my skin to start clearing up.. I have no cysts on my face right now but i do have a couple of smaller pimples but nothing like i used to get.. I will not go more than 4 grams, im scared of mega dosing..I am goin to give it another 3 months on 4 grams and hope for my skin to be completely clear by then.. Fingers crossed!! As soon as my face is clear i will start lowring my dosage.. Btw i take 4 500mg with my lunch with a b-complex and 4 500mg with my dinner with a multi-vitamin.. And i take a biotin with my breakfast too cuz i have read about hair loss.. So good luck to all of you hope my review helped and i will post again after 3 more months to share my results..

Pros:

Really helps with acne

Allows you to eat whatever you want without worrying

Cons:

Can be pricey... I buy mine from Puritan's Pride

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) has really helped me get rid of my acne. Had acne for 4 or 5 years and nothing worked, so I decided to try vitamins. Pantothenic Acid really helped, and has kept me clear long enough for all redness to have (nearly) disappeared. I have always used it with a multivitamin, so I am a firm believer in a natural approach to acne prevention. I definitely recommend this.
