Pros:

Works fast
Cheap
all natural

Cons:

smell but it is tolerable and you're not able to smell it after a few minutes

It works! I'm the mother of a cystic acne sufferer. Since February she has been on antibiotics (suffered esophogitis due to doxycycline), Epoduo and duac with really no relief. I did research 3 days ago for home remedies on cystic acne relief and getting rid of acne scars. I read posts from actual people (I like forums, the truth is easy to filter out from spammers) saying it worked. I just wanted to pass along how amazed I am after only 3 days of using the apple cider vinegar I've had in my cabinet this whole time, has shrunk cysts overnight and has lightened red scars on her face chest and back! I just can't fathom why someone isn't screaming from the rooftops for acne sufferers everywhere how well ACV works. She also takes Airborne tablets, about 3 a day, supposedly the zinc and other vitamins/minerals in the tablets help as well. As you may know the pharmaceutical cost is astronomical compared to some ACV and Airborne tablets, I'm guessing that's why ACV isn't out there like it should be. My daughter applies the ACV undiluted with a cottonball and takes the Airborne tablets 3x's a day, the change in only 3 days is miraculous and noticeable! Please try it and I hope it works. She tried ingesting a 2 tbsp which was also recommended but she couldn't stomach it. I've read of the ACV in tablet form and we will begin that as well. I'm so happy, she was starting to feel very hopeless. For a whole month of Airborne and a bottle of ACV that should last at least 3months, it's under $20.00!

Pros:

Works great when followed with coconut oil! This is probably the best my skin has ever been.

Cons:

Stings a little, smells like vinegar of course

This is amazing and I read about it here. I cannot find the post I read to thank the person (they had left their e-mail) but it works best for me as she suggested. I use the apple cider vinegar as an astringent and then I use a VERY small amount of coconut oil right after. It is a natural antibacterial I guess. The first time I did it I had a cyst on my chin. The acv made it start to come to a head right before my eyes. I went for the coconut oil right away anyway and it started to get better right away! I did not expect either thing to work at all much less like that but I had them both so I figured I would try it. I believe she also suggested to avoid whitening toothpastes (for chin breakouts) but that may have been someone else. So I wash with Dove soap (dermatologist recommended that), use the acv straight as an astringent and then follow immediately with coconut oil. The acv is store brand but the coconut oil is like a $10 thing from a health food store. And a jar that size would last forever with the little bit you have to use. I have had acne for more than 25 years on and off but only off for several years after accutane and now in my 40's it is back again. Regular dermatologist treatment did not work and was $30 plus $30 copay.

Pros:

- Fades marks
- Prevents new zits from forming
- Cheap

Cons:

- The smell slightly lingers on and makes the skin taste like vinegar. Ew.

My back cleared up alot from spraying this on, once a day. I do not use it on my face because it can be pretty drying. I dilute it with 50% water.

..STANDING OVATION!
Im 26, and im having a mild breakout. Mild that is limited only to flakiness, few pustules, few blackheads and whiteheads, rare cystic one. Not all at the same time, but im breaking out even in the most rare areas of my face(eyebrow, nose line),very annoying! Im guessing this could be hormonal, leading to "leaky gut" (please read about leaky gut, it will aid in your treatment with acne). So i looked in the internet thru reviews (acne.org), blogs, information sites about the organic, raw, unpasteurized "with the mother" ACV. Ive read about it before, but never really curious to try (because my acne treatment is still going well). verdict: Thumbs up! Hands up! STANDING OVATION! 1-3 days usage, flakiness gone, red patches gone, few clogged pores remain, minimized whiteheads and blackheads, skins look clearer and whiter. Im on my 1week of using it as a facial toner, and voila, no new cystic one, PROMISE! so far, only 5 treatable pustules emerge, but not all at same time during application. P.S. I have included treating "leaky gut", while treating acne. I drink 1 tbsp ACV, 3x a day. Morning, noon and before going to bed. This helps my skin clearing, just as short as 1 week:)

Pros:

-Cleared up my troubled skin!
-Leaves skin looking very soft/clean after use as a toner
-Cheap
-All natural!

Cons:

-Smells awful and tastes even worse. But still, if it clears your skin, it's worth it! And it goes away after a few minutes
-A bit stingy at first

I never had an acne problem growing up. However, after I went on birth control for medical reasons, I experienced the worst breakout of my life all over my face. Being 20 years old and never having had an acne problem, of course I was desperate. I ditched the pills and began a grueling journey to get rid of my acne. For many months, I tried everything - Obagi products (helped immensely with old scarring but not my acne itself), a rainbow of topical ointments from my dermatologist, organic face washes/toners, drinking aloe vera juice, supplements, changing my grooming habits, natural remedies like lemon juice and honey masks...only with slight results. Nothing worked quite like apple cider vinegar! I began to use it only a few weeks ago, religiously (morning and night after face was washed) and noticed results after about a week! I tried to use it both as a toner and as a shot to drink. It's awful to drink, so I'll be doing that minimally (I still recommend it, because it couldn't hurt) but as a toner, it totally healed my skin! And people, my acne was stubborn hormonal acne, so you know this stuff is good! Combined with dry ice treatments (available at select dermatologist offices; basically sloughs off dead skin and dries existing acne), I am now almost acne free after many months of agony. I still use a topical ointment (Veltin) after I apply the vinegar just to be safe, but I know the main reason my skin is now healthy is due to the vinegar. I can't sing enough praises about it. If you're struggling with acne, try apple cider vinegar. It's definitely worth a shot. Good luck to all of you!

Pros:

Works better than just about everything I've tried!!!

Cons:

A bit smelly.
Dried out my hand.

I've suffered from pretty bad acne for maybe 10 years, and the only thing that worked was Minocycline. But unfortunately I developed a rare drug-induced lupus from that, and eventually ended up back at square one. ACV is the ONLY thing so far that has worked so well. I dilute it a bit with water, then apply with a cotton ball. It has completely dried out my right hand though from applying it every night. But this is just fantastic! The really large cystic type acne has decreased in size, as have basically all the other forms. Even my blackheads have disappeared! Why have I only just found out about this?!?!

YES - it really works!
YES! This works. I took my son to a derma and bought the expensive meds he prescribed. They didn't help so we went back and the derma was a jerk to us'..so I came home and found this apple cider vinegar info on the net. Well - we tried it and it worked. And it worked fairly quickly - within a couple of weeks. He has not had acne in the past 6 years since! We used the organic apple cider vinegar that costs about $2. Yes it tastes weird'but the craft bartenders are now even using vinegars. Try it - please! Diane

1st review ever!! OH My God , I feel like an idiot for not trying this earlier, excuse my rambling but I'm very excited, I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I ever herd, though of smelling like a salad ect. I am in the Architectural / engineering field and I am highly into research / latest technology I follow the most recent medical developments ect. I have been suffering with acne in my T-area and cheeks , jawbone since 18 yrs old and I am now 46. I come home from target yesterday with a bottle of ACV and distilled water to try it out all for 8 bucks, I just paid $327 for a tube of useless soolantra waiting to get reimbursed from my insurance by next week because required a prior authoriz. my wife was like " what are you doing " I mixed a 50/50 potion and locked myself in the bathroom for an hour, yelled out to her if I'm not out in an hour call the paramedics. I have extremely sensitive skin on my T-area so I thought I was going to have a bad reaction but I'll try anything once. I have tried every kind of cream for 30 years to no avail , derma was pushing accutane but I have heard some terrible things and I have 3 kids to raise, the fact that your oil glands can grow back to normal after accutane discourages me from trying it. So I applied the ACV mix with cotton balls, stung a little but that's nothing compared to creams I have had adverse reactions to. I have been hospitalized twice for an out of control pimple that almost took over my head. In one hour the redness in my T-area went away about 90% , face felt refreshed, oil under control, my skin would be oily in a half hour after washing with all kinds of soaps before, tried moisturizers after washing but face would get really greasy. Its been 18 hrs since I applied the magic potion on face 3 times I have used no soap, skin gets a little oily now but no where near like it was prior, Guess it's true about the PH / Skin Mantle / Acid ect. First time in 30 years I have woken up with no new bumps, terrible oily skin, or swollen T-area and of course the pimple or cyst of the day special. This has to work for me because nothing else has ever worked. I plan on having a long talk with my derma and her staff ( hate her staff even more ) I'm going to make a scene in her waiting room , waiting for what? So we put a man on the moon in 1969 with a computer that was less powerful than my 9th graders calculator and we cant control acne? ACV is an ancient treatment for all kinds of ailments. OOps there's insufficient research and drug companies cant make a dime, cant prescribe ACV because you'll never come back to my office and pay $150 bucks at a clip for 15 min, $300 creams? Its ok to pay for the stuff if works. ACV cost me 6 bucks, overpaid at Target because I'm in NY. The thought of being prescribed stupid creams and medications that will make you grow an eyeball on your liver is horrifying. I am furious with current and previous dermatologists, but at the same time very happy. I cant believe the results in 18hrs, got my face back, no embarrassing redness, the doctors couldn't even tell if it was Rosacia. I'll post more results in 3 weeks. I plan on taking 2 tablespoons with 8oz. of water 3 times a week, as others had success with for internal use, try to funnel it down because it's not good for the teeth, then again Halloween is coming, If you are suffering try this, I can't believe it worked for me. thanks for reading. Pros:

It cleared up my skin in no time
Help you lose weight!
The most effective product I've ever used

Cons:

The taste is strong (if you are drinking it)
And if you are applying it directly to your skin in doesn't smell very nice at all

ACV is a real miracle worker. I swear by it. I have seen it cure extremely severe skin conditions. I absolutely adore it. And it's not something you depend on. I started having acne was I was 13. I didn't discover ACV until I was 25. I started drinking it and in just a few weeks my skin cleared up. Now I don't drink it anymore and my skin is still fine. But I drink it. I tried applying it to my skin, but that didn't really work for me.

Pros:

-very inexpensive
-convenient to buy (grocery store)
-works on all types of blemishes
-works fast
-natural
-one bottle goes a LONG way (lasts about a year)

Cons:

-can irritate some people's skin
-a bit drying
-stings a little
-can make eyes watery
-the smell

this has been the only product i can fully rely on to take care of my acne. It's great! Because it kills bacteria, it helps with ALL types of acne (blackheads, whiteheads, zits, you name it) but also helps with the healing of scabs. Because it can irritate skin.. I recommend starting out by diluting it in water and playing with the cider to water ratio to figure out what is jusst right for your skin. The smell is quite uncomfortable and though it goes away after it's dry, if you sweat throughout the day it will come back whether you're on a date or at the bustop or wherever.. it'll come back!! so I simply use it at night and wash it off in the morning, then moisturize my face .. and sunscreen and my skin looks great. Good luck!
