Please give apple cider vinegar a shot!!!
I have tried everything from acne clearing systems to prescription creams and it turns out the answer for my acne was in my pantry the whole time. I was skeptical to use home remedies for my acne because I had always heard that benzol peroxide and other prescription creams were the way to go. However nothing else that I'd tried had been giving me consistent results so I figured I had to just give apple cider vinegar a shot! Now after I have been following my new skin care regimen for 2 weeks I can see a considerable reduction in the frequency and severity of my breakouts along with reduced pore size and an overall more glowing complexion. It sounds too good to be true, but please just try it out for yourself :) I wash my face morning and night with Dr. Bronner's tea tree oil castile soap and then follow with the ACV as a toner. At first I used a 1:3 ACV to water ratio but I now use equal parts ACV and water. I apply this mixture with a cotton ball and dab it all over my face. Lastly I spot treat any pimples with straight ACV on a q-tip. I just hold the q-tip over the problem area for a few seconds. If my face is feeling dry after the ACV has dried I will apply a light moisturizer (I use alba green tea and aloe) as needed. I used to get frequent breakouts all over my face and now I rarely break out and if I do the size of the pimple is much smaller and not as deep. Also, if I feel a pimple coming on at night I will treat it with ACV and in the morning it is hardly noticeable. I really love the way my face feels after transitioning over to all natural products, and my face obviously likes the products too. I wish I had tried out ACV a long time ago and I hope that you try it out for yourself and see results like I did!!!

Is this still working for you?

Pros:

works GREAT :)
cheap
1 bottle goes a long way

Cons:

smelly until it dries

ACV has greatly helped with my acne! I started off using it undiluted which was of course silly... my skin was red for days of course. Then I started diluting it 1:1 with water and it is much much better. It felt far more natural. I still apply undiluted acv with a cotton bud onto active pimples without touching the skin around the pimple. It instantly reduces the redness and visible white tip of the pimple (not sure what to call it :) I use it as a toner, so after cleansing. Mostly in the evenings to avoid smelling of vinegar during the day, but if I am at home I will use it twice a day and it works miracles.

Pros:

Clears up cysts
Makes post-acne scars lighter
Minimizes pores
Helps to tame that terrible hormonal acne that pops up with mother nature

Cons:

Nothing!
(Maybe smell, but personally I'd rather this scent than some fake perfume)

I encourage everyone who suffers from acne (whether it be cystic, hormonal etc.) to please give ACV a try! Basically I've suffered from acne for years - I get cysts around my jawline along with minor pimples during that time of the month. I started using ACV as a toner about 5 days ago and I am not exaggerating, I have seen a complete change in my skin! My scarring is visibily reduced. The cysts somehow are being minimized and other pimples drying out. My Routine: I dilute the ACV and put it on at night as a toner. Then in the morning I use it as a toner again again but this time I wash it off with Aveeno's face bar. Once my skin completely clears up I am going to just use it as a toner every other night. Please this goes out to everyone acne sufferer, try this! You know that feeling you had when your skin used to be clear, but yet now you have somehow forgotten what it feels like? I had that great clear skin feeling today! For the first time in years! Please do try, you won't regret it!

Almost immediate results
Calms reddening
Decreases pore size
Tones skin quickly
Effective!

Cons:

Burns a bit

I saw an improvement in the tone of my skin almost immediately. This morning, pimples on my forehead had completely disappeared and the scars I have on my cheeks appeared lighter and again my tone is awesome. I'll check back in a week...

Pros:

All natural, refreshing, works great as a pH balancing toner. Can't beat the cost.

Cons:

Smells like vinegar (but smell fades quickly), Slight sting especially on broken skin.

I use regular Great Value ACV diluted with green tea solution as a toner. I love it! You can splash it or dab it on with a cotton pad. It helps heal scarring and reduce redness from previous acne. I use in combination with Dan's 2.5% BP and OTC cleanser & moisturizer. I stay acne free for the most part this is a huge improvement for me considering I used to have huge cystic acne all over my face. Now it's more of an occasional little bump. Recipe: 1 cup boiling water, 2 green tea bags steeped for 20 min. 3 parts tea to 1 part ACV.

My knight in shining glass - so far anyway
I never usually write reviews, however I have been so happy with the results of using ACV so far that I decided to write one. In brief, I have suffered from mod-severe acne for about 7 years, and have tried everything in my power to clear it with little success. I finally heard about ACV, and thought what the heck since I've tried everything else - I have since achieved the clearest skin in quite a short period of time. I started using it about 2 weeks ago, initially as a drink with one tbsp mixed with water morning and evening. After 4 days, I hadn't seen any significant changes so I decided to use it as a topical treatment. I was reluctant initially to use it in this way as I have extremely sensitive skin, and had read some bad reviews. So initially I diluted ACV to a ratio of about 1:5 and apply it to my skin at night and in the morning. Surprisingly I had no reaction. As the days went on, I increased the concentration, until now when apply it undiluted. My skin had a terrible breakout around the chin area prior to using the ACV, and I have always had a few spots on my cheeks. I have lots of hyperpigmented scars on my skin from previous acne - so bad that I've had random beauticians try to give me tips on the tube, despite wearing make-up! It has affected my confidence so much in the past - to the extent that I missed my own graduation. However now I have the clearest skin I've seen in a while, and the red marks are slowly disappearing. Though this may not be the case with everyone looking to use ACV, it may be worth a try. I use brand 'RAW ACV', which contains the mother. I also drink a tbsp mixed with water once a day. I wash my face with a face-wash in the evenings only, and with just water in the morning. After dabbing on the ACV with a cotton bud I apply aloe vera gel, with some sunscreen in the morning.

I just wanted to add to my post - I continued with the acv and am really happy with the results, but I would like to share the other things that I do alongside to help my skin. I am quite careful with my diet - I very rarely have fried food, and have stopped eating dairy. I also try to go for a run at least twice a week for 25 mins. In addition, I take primrose oil (supposedly good for hormonal acne), zinc and calcium with vit D supplements daily. I stopped drinking tea and coffee and have green tea instead. I also try to have minimal sugar in my diet. I have been using/doing these things for much longer than I used the acv. It was only after using the ACV however, that my acne completely cleared. I know this is a lot, and it takes time getting used to, and it's obviously not for everyone. I just wanted to share this for people to know that managing acne requires a multifactorial approach, which varies from person to person.

Pros:

Absolutely wonderful
Fades red marks
Makes skin look lovely
Cheap!

Cons:

Smells a bit (you'll learn to love it when you see the results though!)
Can make your eyes water

My Mum has been going on about apple cider vinegar for years. I just always thought it was that disgusting kitchen product that was forever turning up in the bathroom, oh how I was wrong! I use 50:50 water:ACV and it is by far my favourite 'beauty' product. I use it as a toner (usually only if I'm staying in because I get paranoid that people might think I smell of vinegar) It seems to be fading some annoying red marks I've had for what feels like forever quite quickly. It leaves your skin feeling very soft once dry (I don't wash it off, the smell does fade) and it gives skin that nice dewy glowey look we all crave!

Apple cider vinegar is AMAZING
I use it as a toner and it kills my acne while balancing my ph level. I started with 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water then 2 weeks later I did 1 part vinegar 2 parts water and then after a month I did 1 part vinegar with a small dash of water. Might get rid of a lot of your acne overnight and this is coming from someone who tried everything.

Hello! I had three times laser resurfacing, before my skin was fine but now facing massive break out on my neck. Been reading about the AVC lately, could you tell me how your skin reacted for the first week of the AVC treatment? Looking forward for your reply.

Hey, can I ask in what week did you start seeing results?

Pros:

Have battled acne for at least 20 years and this is the ONLY thing that has worked well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons:

You will go to bed with your face smelling strange- but you get used to it... and to wake up with a nice complexion makes it all worthwhile.

I have to say I am a real skeptic... I have tried EVERYTHING on the market- even accutane for my acne. Accutane took it away for a while, but it came back. Never since my teens have I been 100% acne free. I was on Duac cream before trying this and it was not working. I was also on a sulfur cream. My forehead had tons of tiny bumps and my face had scattered pimples throughout. After a couple of days THE LITTLE PIMPLES ON MY FOREHEAD VANISHED WHEN I FIRST STARTED APPLE CIDER VINEGAR!!!!! I applied the stuff straight and it tingled a bit but it's so worth it! It's been about 3 weeks now and my face is so smooth and pretty- even my minor wrinkes (I am 38) have smoothed out. I am totally amazed and speechless and never write reviews, but I just had to so someone else might benefit. I am so thankful for this stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is totally worth a shot. I love not being on drugs /using worthless, expensive creams!!!!!
