Pros:

Cheap, effective, not only helps mild to moderate acne, but also helps clear up seriously plugged up pores (milia and the like)

Cons:

Smells like apple cider vinegar, can sting (especially after shaving, which I don't recommend)

One of the side benefits of ACV is that it not only disinfects, but acts as an AHA to help slough away dead skin cells. This helped clear up my case of milia (rough, bumpy skin on the forehead). However, after I stopped using ACV, it came back. So it doesn't seem to be a cure, but a pretty effective treatment.nonetheless. Also, I've noticed some differences in quality of ACV. Typically the stuff you find at a health food store will be organic and good; the Heinz stuff you find at a grocery store will do nothing. Not sure if this is the case with everyone, but it's been my experience that not all ACVs are alike!

Pros:

nothing so far!

Cons:

has a smell, but you get used to it.

i started breaking out really bad a couple of weeks ago, and i was using actual acne washes! i read about apple cider vinegar and decided to give it a try. i wash my face every morning and every night and afterwards, i dab a cotton pad into the vinegar (which i dilute with water) and rub it on my face. So far it's worked! A few days ago, my face was full of nasty infected pimples. And now it's clear, expect for some scarring. So far I am so happy and stoked with this product. I'm about to start taking apple cider vinegar pills to see if i notice any difference with that.

Pros:

Effectively controls acne, reduces breakouts, can be used as an all-over treatment, affordable

Cons:

Smells terrible the first time few times you apply it and the initial burn and redness may freak you out at first

I picked up a bottle of raw, unfiltered, ACV from a health food store per this sites recommendation. At $4 for a 32oz bottle, it's worth a shot. Prior to this, I'd tried practically everything. Proactive is a joke. Walmart's selection of Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid products, over time, over dried my face when used as directed. I've now been using ACV for about two months now and this is the clearest my skin has been since I was 10! I apply to my whole face using a cotton ball and I picked up a $1 spray bottle to apply to the rest of my body. When I stared using it, I was applying it everyday for about a week before bed. When it began to dry my face, I started using it every other day. Now, I'm back to daily, but I only leave it on for 20 minutes prior to a shower in the mornings. This may not work for everyone, but I'd say it's worth a try. Use it, and find out what application works to get your acne under control!

Pros:

Organic apple cider vinegar cleared my break-up super fast.

Cons:

I'm no fan of the smell, I have to say.

I use organic apple cider vinegar each time I was my face - I dab some on, then rinse it off, dab in on, rinse it off again. I repeat this about four times so it's more like a toner. I had a nasty out-break of pimples on my forehead due to very hot weather (lots of sweating) and wearing mineral make-up that clogged my pores. So, I ditched that brand, started using Jane Iredale and the apple cider vinegar, and within a week I saw a real improvement. I now swear by it.

Pros:

Helps dry out acne and even tone, but most importantly it helps stop future breakouts AND can be used during pregnancy, which was FANTASTIC, I suffered "teen-like" break outs during pregnancy and couldn't use any chemicals or anything.

Cons:

smells bad, so just put it on at night
may make your skin a little red at first

its cheap, safe during pregnancy, natural and it works!

Pros:

Cheap
Works well
Easy to use

Cons:

Smells/Tastes bad
Can sting/burn if skin is sensitive
Burns eyes

Great remedy. I've been using Bragg's ACV for about 5 days now and it's working miraculously. I use a 50/50 AVC/water mix on my face after washing in the place of a toner, then I moisturize with a moiturizer containing Jojoba oil and aloe vera. I've also been taking about 2 tablespoons daily mixed with some type of juice or water. Overall...I've seen a major improvement and I'm glad to have come across this site or I never would have tried it. *Bragg's ACV doesn't taste as bad as some of the other brands, but it is still ACV none the less :-)

Pros:

it takes the red out of thoes painful swollen pimples, its cheap!

Cons:

smells absolutely terrible

i had one of thoes "stick out the side of your face" pimples today and i came home and put a warm washcloth on the spot and popped it (then it was swollen) but after that i put some of the ACV just on the spot and it is now completly flat and its not red and painful anymore. Also, i used this as a drink for a week or more and it kept me 100% clear, the only problem was i stopped using it because its kind of a pain but then all my breakouts came back. I would recomend taking 1 tbs in the morning and 1 tbs at night mixed with juice i believe it helps prevent break outs MAKE SURE ITS BRAGG'S ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINIGAR

Pros:

the best over the counter(and in general) treatment I've found for acne and pseudofolliculitis.

Really worked for me, with both problems. I have even stopped using benzoil peroxide cream. I find it more of a preemptive measure.

Cons:

Apple cider vinegar smeels life cider vinegar. And altough it is sayed is should go away... It doens't seem to know that.

I find white vinegar less smelly, and its smeel really does leave. Also it's cheaper.

I think everyone should at least give it a try. I've been using it for a week with really great results. I'll uplaod and update in a few week, but I'd be surprised if something would change - the improvement has been drastic so far. Maybe it's the thing my face was waiting for.

Great toner for clogged pores and acne marks
Ive been using acv mixed with wather as toner since some months. It helps to calm down my acne and red marks. The only issue is that sometimes it can be irritating and it dries the skin. Appart that I its a great cheap method to help acne prone skin.

Pros:

Greatly improved my skin, stops new break outs.

Cons:

The smell can be pretty bad - use it in the evening and leave it on at night and no one will notice. Doesn't completely clear skin.

The only product (i used distilled malt vinegar which i found worked just as well as ACV) that has had a real affect on my acne. I apply it with a cotton bud in the evening and leave on all night. You should see a noticeable difference within a few days. If i don't apply it a couple of nights i begin to break out badly again. Hasn't cleared my skin 100% but it has cleared it to a level i am pretty happy with and not always worried or embarrassed about. I strongly suggest you try it.
