Pros:

WORKS WELL; FACE DIDN'T HURT AS MUCH, RARELY HAD ACNE ON NECK, CHEST, AND BACK WHILE TAKING IT

Cons:

IT WAS AN INCONVIENCE TO TAKE 2 PILLS A DAY; DIDN'T LIKE TAKING ANTIBIOTICS OVER LENGTH OF TIME, DIDN'T CLEAR COMPLETELY

BEST THING I USED BEFORE ACCUTANE BUT DIDN'T LIKE THE FACT OF TAKING AN ANTIBIOTIC FOR AS LONG AS I DID. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT.

Pros:

Iv been on this for about a year, it is great!Iim taking it with the contraceptive pill dianette(for my acne, not contraception). They both work excellent together, and in weeks!

Cons:

the pill is not in a capsule, its dry and if it get stuck in your throat it tastes DISGUSTING!It can cause nausia and headaches, but i found that your body gets used to it after a month of so; also make sure you drink lots of water&eat with it

IT great, its the only thing that worked for me. Iv had acne since im 11. Im 22 now, and when I went off this medication in summer my skin broke out terrible. so its now a long term solution. But my theory is that theres no l/t solution for acne. cuz iv heard many reports of people on ro accutate whos acne came back.

Pros:

only antibiotic that actually got rid of my acne made my cystic acne on my back go away faster and cleared up my entire face.

Cons:

try this if nothing else is working!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:

Worked immediately, easy to use

Cons:

Caused me some bad side effects including nausea and severe joint pain.

If you don't have severe reactions to it, this should work for you. It stopped my acne from the first week, but the joint pain was too severe to keep taking it.

Pros:

No side effects.

Cons:

Having to take it 2 times a day. It also seems like it's too strong of an antibiotic to be prescribed for long term use.

My acne never really got better. I was taking Bactrim while using Retin-A and Duac for about 4 months. My derm had me stay on it for a while because I guess Bactrim does the trick for most people, but it never worked for me.

Pros:

Within days my skin was looking way better, I still got one or two smaller pimples a day, but nothing large like I was getting before, and by day 10 I haven't gotten one in a few days (a HUGE event for me).

Cons:

Makes me VERY sick - headaches, nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, my body feels like it's pulsating, I get incredibly cold, I feel tired, depressed... I've tried drinking it with lots of water and eating lots of food, but that only helps a little.

Works great, but the side effects make it terrible. I'd rather live with acne! Right now I'm just taking it at night since it doesn't seem to affect me as badly when I'm sleeping.

Pros:

I am on day 3 of this and love it!!! For the past 3 months I have been on 3 other antibiotics and non worked. I already see my cysts getting smaller and pimples healing.

Cons:

I am prone to yeast infections and have gotten a HORRIBLE one due to this antibiotic. If you are prone to these, you may want to ask for a diflucan prescription.

For 3 months I have tried to clear my chin. This is the first time I have seen any improvement.

Pros:

I am now well into my 10th day of taking bactrim and it is just starting to work noticeably. My nodular acne is getting smaller. I have been taking this as a temporary treatment before I start accutane.

Cons:

Takes awhile to start working.

Give it a try, its cheap... you don't have much to lose except the acne.

Pros:

I am a die hard fan of Bactrim. I was on it all through high school and my skin was amazing. Completely loved the stuff.

Cons:

I think it kind of messed up my stomach a bit but it was alllll worth it! The only bad thing about taking an antibiotic is you can't stay on it forever:(

Use it.

Pros:

Quick result. Less acne with a regular routin cleaning of your face.

Cons:

Headaches and nausea but if you drink lots of water, headache should disappear. Plenty of water and take it in full stomach so that you don't get headaches and nausea. Frink plenty of water for sure.

I'm still taking it. It seems to work. Been taking it for 2 1/2 weeks now. I heard there are some side effects like kidney problems etc.. but still have to ask my Dermatologist about it.
