Pros:

Iv been on this for about a year, it is great!Iim taking it with the contraceptive pill dianette(for my acne, not contraception). They both work excellent together, and in weeks!

Cons:

the pill is not in a capsule, its dry and if it get stuck in your throat it tastes DISGUSTING!It can cause nausia and headaches, but i found that your body gets used to it after a month of so; also make sure you drink lots of water&eat with it

IT great, its the only thing that worked for me. Iv had acne since im 11. Im 22 now, and when I went off this medication in summer my skin broke out terrible. so its now a long term solution. But my theory is that theres no l/t solution for acne. cuz iv heard many reports of people on ro accutate whos acne came back.

Pros:

I used it for five years and it cleared up my skin, but I still got mild breakouts. I used the generic brand and it was inexpensive.

Cons:

It did not clear up my blackheads (but I have large pores anyways.) My dermatologist made me get monthly blood tests while I was on it to check my cell count. I weened myself off of it, and my skin has broken out like never before.

It works, along with a good skin care regimen. I found the generic brand elsewhere, which was very inexpensive and I no longer was required get monthly blood tests as prescribed by my former dermatologist (not the smartest thing to do, but it cut costs for me.) I will not go back on it even though it worked, because being on an antibiotic that long cannot be healthy for my system in the long-run.

Pros:

Works so well. I've had bad acne for years and this is the only thing that has ever worked for me and kept working. I only gave it a 4 b/c it won't work once you stop taking it.

Cons:

You MUST stay on it, which is bad for any sort of medication. If you stop, you are guaranteed to break out, which can be really depressing for some people. I know I don't want to go back.

So great because it is not as harmful as accutane, it's inexpensive, and it works very well. But you may end up going on accutane anyway b/c as soon as you stop this, you're gonna need something to control that acne! But it's worth it to get some time with clear skin!

Pros:

IT DEFINATELY WORKS. I STARTED GETTING ACNE AFTER I HAD MY SON AND THE DR. PUT IN AN IUD. AFTER THAN MY SKIN WENT TO HELL. SORRY FOR THE WORD BUT THATS WHAT HAPPEN. I HAVE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH ACNE BEFORE.

Cons:

I REALLY HAVE NONE OTHER THAN LARGE PILL AND IT WILL CAUSE NAUSEA IF YOU DON'T EAT BEFORE OR DURING THE TIME YOU TAKE IT

IT REALLY WORKS BUT THE ONLY CONCERN I HAVE IS TAKING AN ANTIBIOTIC FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME SO I AM DOING RESEACH ON THIS ANTIBIOTIC ONLY. I USED PREVIOUSLY BUT HAD TO QUIT BECAUSE I HAD A BABY AND STARTED BACK A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO AND RIGHT NOW I AM NOT TAKING IT BUT AM STILL CONCERNED ABOUT MY SKIN SO I WILL PROBABLY TAKE IT FOR A WHILE QUIT GO BACK TO IT.ECT... MY FACE LOOKS GOOD RIGHT NOW BUT MY UPPER BACK HAS BROKE OUT AGAIN SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL HAVE TO START TAKING IT AGAIN. I ALSO HAVE A PICKING ISSUE SO I AM SURE THAT KEEPS ME FROM HEALING AS WELL. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

Pros:

Excellent- I thought I had given up, but this really works! I'm taking half the pill a day (half pill morning, half-at night

Cons:

constipation is an issue if you're prescribed Double the dosage for severe acne, which is what I had- but it only lasts for couple days. This medication has barely any side-effects!

Easy, VERY cheap (i pay zero with my insurance!!)-- I have school insurance..and bottom line- IT WORKS! so everyone, go ask your dermatologist for a prescription!

Pros:

Worked immediately, easy to use

Cons:

Caused me some bad side effects including nausea and severe joint pain.

If you don't have severe reactions to it, this should work for you. It stopped my acne from the first week, but the joint pain was too severe to keep taking it.

Pros:

cleared my cystic acne less than a week

Cons:

It gives me nausea everyday, severe gastrointestinal pain throughout the day and night.

My doctor prescribed me this to clear up my moderate acne. I have a history of Gastritis (Inflammation of the abdomen) but my doctor still says to take it 2x a day. Within 6 days of taking it, i experienced a drug interaction. today i went to the hospital for a very severe stomach pain that won't go away for 2 1/2 hrs. my dr still advised me to continue taking it and that i have to take Prilosec. i dont believe her so i will stop taking it before it gets worst.

Pros:

For those who can tolerate it, Bactrim seems to clear people up well.

Cons:

Looks like a lot of us can't tolerate it!

Side effects included nausea and fatigue ... tenth day I broke out in a rash and had to quit. If this works for you, great - but watch carefully for side-effects.
