Acne.org : Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide - 2.5%)

This product got me all excited but ultimately disappointed. The irritation was enough to make me stop because my skin was bright red and dry. The stuff rubs off during the day also, in white rolls. And, it will bleach clothes and washcloths. The moisturizer really burns so much that i would put a fan up to my face to stop the burning sensation. This product didn't work well enough for me to endure the irritation it brought to my skin. The cleaner is very gentle and nice though, so i do recommend that.

BP is not great to use in the long term. The benefits are not worth the risks 1. It can promote tumors 2. Causes sun senstivity (can lead to skin cancer) 3. Causes hyperpigmentation in some people (like me) 4. Slows down the healing of acne scars 5. Smells bad, (not a problem if you use a moisturizer over it) 6. May dry your skin out. Benzoyl peroxide works by releasing free radicals (oxygen) into your skin, penetrating deep into the pores killing P. acne, that can not survive in the presence of oxygen (anaerobic bacteria). The free radicals however, are proven to be carsogenic. Use this product with caution and definetly not for a long term solution for acne.

This product is one that I thought would have worked better than it did. But, I really didn't find it to be really any different than any of the off-the-shelf acne products that you can readily find in the stores. It does provide some level of help to acne prone skin, however I do feel that there are better products out there on the to be used for acne than this one.

If BP helped got rid of red marks then this would be the ultimate treatment. it doesn't however, and people say that it makes red marks linger for longer as it releases free radicals on the skin. Red marks are very irritating too but not as bad as acne so This is a pretty good product. I use to use alot of it day and night now just at night time. It does discolour pillow cases and things btw and the most annoying part is your skin looks sort of worn out and aged from it as well as the really bad flakiness it causes. I can't even get rid of the flakiness with a moisturiser. Overall I give 2.5 % bp a 3.5 out of 5.

I started using this about a year ago, after trying every other choice I had. Clearasil, neutrogena, etc etc etc. I even at once got some prescription face wash and cream, which dried my skin to the point where it was peeling off, yes looked horrible. Started using this, first couple weeks it sucked but then I started seeing results. And it really cleared my skin, no acne except little stubborn ones here and there. I still do seem to get alot of white and black heads. Thats the only thing that bothers me.

Having had success with Proactiv in past, i thought id try Daniel Kerns and save money whilst treating my recurring acne as a teenage boy. Unfortunately, the Benzoyl Peroxide, or one of the numerous products in the regime, did not react with my skin. The first few weeks inflamed my acne incredibly, creating huge red lumps where there were previously small pimples. Then it settled and started to help fade my acne until i started using it in other areas, where it created a host of smaller new spots. Seems to cause spots rather than cure them

This product was okay to use at first and then after a couple weeks my acne came back even worse than it was before I started using the product. I kept using it because of all the good reviews but it seemed my acne was just getting worser.

This treatment is great first time using it all my acne was gone with in months!!! Happy days ! Unfortunately it's not a miracle product that actually gets rid of your acne for good. I stopped using it when all my spots where gone. With in a month my spots started to come back and actually a lot worse than before had major breakouts very painful. The treatment just suppressed my spots and kept them away but once stop using acne.org your spots come back so my advice is to honestly look into something that is more permanent as this is just something you will have to always keep using. Also I noticed after a while your skin becomes used to it and it's not as effective as it was from the beginning so that was another problem that I didn't like. Overall it works a lot better then most creams out there and good for a quick fix

This definitely got the job done in terms of clearing up most of my acne, but because my acne was hormonal, this was not the cure for me. I definitely recommend this product, but for those suffering from more severe acne, this will only help partially, since it may not be addressing the root of the issue. I highly suggest using this regimen WITH an elimination diet to see what foods may be creating hormone imbalances or inflammation, therefore causing the acne.

When I took my bp bottle in the light, I could see it wasn't filled up all the way! A bit disappointed:(
