Pros:

none

Cons:

flaky skin
dries top layer of skin making acne worse
seems good at first but gets worse in time
creates large cysts
company does not honor warranty

This product will fool you. At first it seems like it's working, but what Benzyl Peroxide does is dry your top layer of skin causing the clogged pores underneath to erupt in time. You will have more severe acne after using this product than you started with. Also don't expect a refund from this company. I returned my unused product and never received my promised refund even after multiple emails. Not only did I lose the money I spent on the product, I lost the money I spent to return it. Buyer Beware!

Pros:

- Helped clear my neck/back

- Worked temporarily

Cons:

- Became extremely worse

- Would make my skin peel and become flaky during the middle of the day

I dont know what the f**k happened. I fought acne for several years but it was never bad because I always had it under control. It started annoying me, so being the perfectionist that I am I wanted to get rid of it once and for all. I started taking this product and it was a smooth ride at first, I was getting better day by day and then out of nowhere it went far south. I don't know if I got an allergic reaction or maybe it was going to get this bad either way (which I highly doubt) but it got severe. Like an idiot I kept on using it for another week or two because I convinced myself it was getting all the acne out and would then improve. Wrong. My acne was getting so red and painful that I actually couldn't even sleep or smile because I would feel the pain. I refused to look at myself in the mirror because I was disgusted with myself. Multiple zits would form on each other, I'm getting grossed out just talking about it. It's 6 months later and I'm still trying to recover, it's a lot better but my face has bad post-acne marks and I will probably have permanent scars from this horrible experience I've had. People have had success with this and I'm happy for them but I regret using this product everyday of my life. I wish I just battled teenage acne by just washing my face like I used to, because now I don't know what the f**k to do anymore. I can't believe I'm going to have acne scars on my face because of this.

Pros:

NOTHING

Cons:

Dried my skin
Free radical
Doesn't cure the problem just masks it

I had a a bad breakout and resorted to benzoyl peroxide as a quick fix. It only exacerbated the problem making my skin so dry I couldn't even move my face, the skin started uncontrolabley peeling and became red. NO moisturizer helped I couldn't wear make up because my skin would flake off... I deeply regret this and now use tea tree oil on spots and it dries them up fast without overdrying the surrounding skin..,manuka honey and a sea salt scrub is an awesome exfoliator and moisturizer. benzoyl peroxide is a harsh chemical and although I will not deny that it works, the side effects are way too extreme. They are more holistic ways such as tea tree, mauka honey, vitamin supplements, diet change, and saw palmetto for hormonal acne. Give a more natural attempt a chance it's better for your overall health!

Pros:

- Over the counter treatment
- Made me realise that I have sensitive skin which completely changed how I treat my acne

Cons:

- Severe redness, inflammation, itching
- Spots still bad

I would advise people not to use this if they have sensitive skin like me. I used two different brands for months upon months at a time during my teens. I literally went through tubes and tubes of the stuff. The inflammation/redness DOES disappear eventually, but quite frankly isn't worth it. I had to walk around with a beetroot face for about a month with barely any results on top of it. I stopped using it on my face and used it on my back only but the itching became too much. Inflammation can make some people's acne worse, so you need to know your skin and whether benzoyl peroxide is going to be worth it.

Pros:

Worked for a short amount of time.

Cons:

Started breaking out more.
Increased redness.
Swollen face.
Burning/itchy sensation.

I used this product for a good 3 months , first few weeks of using this product my face was red and swollen.I did not stop knowing that BP usually causes those side effects in the beginning of using it.In about a month my face slightly cleared up,and so continued on using this product hoping to get a fully cleared up skin but...it got worst. My face would turn red again but even more than the previous times and I looked like a freaking tomato it was really embarrassing.I never really saw major improvements in fact I noticed more breakouts.Horrible expirience with this product

Pros:

none, none, and none

Cons:

took a long time to apply
dried out my skin
i had severe acne after the first month of use

i'm really glad that it has helped so many, however, i guess my skin does not take benzoyl peroxide well. i don't have sensitive skin either. i used to the whole acne.org regimen and i have never had such low self confidence as when i was on this regimen. i started out with moderate acne and heard so many glowing reviews i knew i had to try it. i, like most everyone with acne, have tried every product under the sun. so, thinking it couldn't hurt to try, i spent however much money and placed my order. after a couple weeks everyone was commenting on how bad my skin looked. but everyone on acne.org told me that's how it starts and if i just kept with it, my skin will get better...it's just getting used to the BP. i should've trusted my gut instinct though. i used the regimen exactly as stated and started with the bp little by little, applying it thoroughly and gently, and used to for almost a year. anyways, almost 3 years later and i'm still left with horrible scars. so, if it's working for you, congrats! but if you feel like it's making you're acne worse, please, please, please discontinue use. it's not worth it. rating = 0

Pros:

a lot of product, last a long way.
great expectation

Cons:

sting your eyes
inflammation on the spot area
allergic reaction after about one month of use. Itchiness and horrible texture of my skin. Make you more sensitive to sun exposure, causing -in my case- more hyper pigmentation.

it was working really good for about a month, after that i started to developed what i think is an allergic reaction to acne.org BP. Every night i applied the product in my problem areas, and by next morning the covered area presented a horrible allergic reaction: a) the skin was red b) supper itchy, c) raised from the rest of the skin d) didnt improve the existing pimples e) awful texture of the skin in the BP covered area.(like i had salt grains under my skin). f) take about one week to get rid of the reaction. Then, after about a month of use, i switched to neutrogena 2.5 PB and that product is working just fine. Conclusion, im not allergic to BP, but im allergic only to acne.org BP brand. i really wanted to find a miracle product to improve my acne, but i havent yet. anybody with the same story?

Pros:

- Easy to use

Cons:

- Dries out skin

I've been experimenting with various acne products for the past 6 years... and I can't say that this product has cleared my acne yet. I've been on it for 2months now. I am 27, Asian with sensitive skin and mild/moderate acne. I also scar easily and for a long period. I never broke outwhen I lived in Asia. Since I moved to New York in 2003, I have developed all sorts of allergies and acne. Here is how it's worked out for me: - I am getting a lot of smaller, clogged and bumpy zits on top of my nose, above my lips (where I've never broken out before), chin and forehead. Almost look like sweat beads. - While the zits are not red, they are raised. So under bright lights, my face looks scary. - I am still getting the occassional one or two larger pimples in/around my T-zone. The BP product does not seem to penetrate deep enough to kill the acne bacteria. Instead, the BP seems to harden the bumps so you can't pop them or make them go away. Then, they turn purplish/blackish and have not gone away. I just got an extraction facial from a spa because I was so frustrated. The aesthetician kept saying to me that I have to exfoliate - that's how bad it looked. Even with the professional steam machine and exfoliation, she could not extract all the raised zits because they were so hard and deep. This was my last hope and now I may consider trying the expensive laser treatments.
