Years of on & off acne...very satisfied with this!
When I first got cystic acne, mainly around my chin and jawline, but sometimes on my cheeks and forehead too, Clindamycin worked miracles for me. However, I became totally immune to Clindamycin and all of the other antibiotics I tried after 1-3 years. I felt like nothing would ever be an everlasting treatment. This has been so amazing for me because it's cheap, effective, and you can't become immune to it. I use about a dime-sized amount every night and follow it 30 Minutes later with Cerave PM lotion and Aquaphor for my lips. It really has changed my life, and that's not an exaggeration! :) it's drying, but not anything some basic lotion won't fix. Give it a go!!!

This product is a blessing to me.
I have suffered from acne since I was 13 years old. As a female, I experienced all of the associated challenges - having to wear makeup when the occasion did not call for it, or not wanting to stay over nights with family or friends. It deeply affected me, and sapped my energy. I am a strongly motivated person, but there were some times I did not even want to try because of the acne. I have also been through numerous regimens, both internal and external, always seeking an answer, acne always being near the top of my mind. I am on this site fairly often, and in November 2014, I decided to try the acne.org benzoyl peroxide treatment (I have substituted the rest of the kit with similar non-comedogenic products). It works so well and has transformed my life. This is now five months that I have been on this regimen, and I am no longer getting any spots (maybe just one tiny one a month that dissolves instantly), my hyper-pigmentation is gone, and most days, I am only wearing a touch of foundation underneath my eyes leaving the rest of my facial skin bare (some days I go without that either!). I use this twice a day. What I will say, however, is that in the beginning, I (personally - may not be true for everyone) believe it's OK to use a gentle scrub (with grains) to get off some of the dead skin that develops when you are new to the regimen. I still use a scrub, just to be sure. I feel like the dead skin can be a hindrance to progress. But do not overdo the scrubbing, be gentle. I want to end by saying that I am and continue to be thankful to God for this amazing benzoyl peroxide treatment and its accompanying regimen!

Worth the shot!
I've been on the Acne Regimen treatment for about 2 months now and this was one of the best decisions I have made in my life! I was skeptical about it at first, but on the first month I've already seen some improvement. I'm writing this review because today my boyfriend told me, twice, that my skin got so clear! "Your skin got so clear. Really clear. Looks nice!" Again, he told me this twice. Hearing these words almost brought me to tears. Battling with acne is not fun. Thank you so much, Dan! Your products are life changing.

Keep at it!

Pros:

Affordable
Works!

Cons:

Drying at first
Not available in stores

I don't know why I keep thinking that I can live without this. I've used this product for well over three years; usually, as soon as my skin clears, I go on the hunt for an easier regimen - something gentler, more natural, etc. Inevitably, I always come back to this as the only thing that works consistently. My acne is mild to moderate (I'm 27 and female), and I usually deal with little bumps under the skin on my forehead which are seen in natural light and can't be covered with makeup. On top of that, I usually have anywhere from 3-5 blemishes on/around my jawline/chin area (hormonal, I know). This is the only product that clears up EVERYTHING. If you're just starting out with the regimen, here are some of my tips: 1) I don't buy the whole regimen here. I use either Cetaphil face wash (for normal skin) or the new Neutrogena Ultra-Gentle Foaming Daily Cleanser. As for face lotion, during the summer months I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. Now that it's cooling off, my face needed a bit more moisture so I've been using L'oreal Ideal Moisture Day Lotion SPF 25 for Sensitive Skin. All of these products, aside from the Neutrogena lotion, are easily found at drugstores (which is why they appeal to me) and are affordable. 2) Consistency is really the key with this stuff. I mostly follow Dan's instructions, though not to a T. In the beginning, I use about a fingers' length worth of the BP morning and night. For the first several weeks, my skin will be angry and red, sensitive and dry. This is not the time to skimp on lotion and in fact, during this time, I recommend using something with sunscreen (a la the L'oreal I recommended above). It protects your skin from getting burned and also offers added moisture. 3) This period lasts several weeks and then suddenly - clear skin! Once I notice that I've had consistently clear skin for a week or two, I start to reduce the amount of BP I use daily - to approximately a quarter sized dollop morning and night. This seems to work perfectly for keeping my acne at bay without drying my skin out too much. The thing to remember here is that it takes approximately six weeks (at least in my case) to begin to see really clear skin. But if you stick with it, you will be rewarded!! I've also switched up the makeup I wear - Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation is the BEST - and I've tried so many high end/drugstore foundations that it's almost shameful. This stuff has amazing coverage and doesn't make me break out. It's my new obsession. Hope this info helps someone!

Holy Grail!

Pros:

Clear acne
Prevents new acne
Smooth skin

Cons:

Drying
Slightly stings eyes (only for a minute)

This benzoyl peroxide has saved my life, literally. My acne got to the point where I would cry, avoid going to school, avoid meeting and talking to people, and load on face makeup to try to cover it up; which was very noticeable. The first few months are kind of tough, but I've been using this consistently for 6 months and my skin is clear!! I now have my confidence back, and can enjoy myself without worrying about how my skin looks. I don't even wear face makeup anymore ;)

Pros:

There is only one word for this product AWESOME! I now have nice smooth spot free skin. Thank you acne.org.

It has completely cleared up my acne! the 2.5% BP is much nicer and less harsh on the skin compared to the 5% or 10% products. The product spreads easily on the skin.

A lot of product comes in the tube. I bought the 8oz one and 6 weeks later there still is quite a bit left in the tube. Although I only do the regime once a day.

Cons:

Expensive to get in the UK but I will still continue to get this product because it's so worth the money.
Drying but this can be easily avoided by a good moisturizer and a few drops of jojoba oil.

A little bit about me. I've suffered from acne since my late teens with spots over my forehead and chin which began to affect my confidence. I've used other BP treatments but this is by far the best one. I had a rather bad break out of spots about four months ago and used a 10 % BP treatment but this was way to hash and resulted in cystic acne as well! I swapped to this product and 6 weeks on I'm almost clear. It does take a few weeks to kick in but stick with it! It really has improved my skin!

Pros:

-Huge amount for the price
-Great consistency- absorbs quickly
-Works perfectly fine under makeup

Cons:

-Like all bp products, it can be drying and it can bleach hair/ fabrics

This stuff is gold. It's the best bp I've used as far as consistency and effectiveness. The quality is top notch and the price is great. If you're wanting to start the regimen, I honestly think this is the only product you need to buy from acne.org-- everything else can be bought from your local drugstore and will be just as effective. IF you are using Neutrogena On The Spot, I suggest switching immediately to this. I tried the Neutrogena and it's not even close to the amazingness of Dan's bp.

Pros:

Great consistency
No perfumes or added junk
Large quantity
Best quality BP out there!

Cons:

Dries your skin out, but that is to be expected with any BP.

Dan's BP is the greatest. I have been using it for 5ish months now. Yes, benzoyl peroxide WILL dry out your skin, but your skin adjusts over time. And for many, it causes an initial breakout, like it did for me. But the results I'm seein are worth the nasty breakouts and dry skin I endured for a while. I only use it at night, and have seen great results. I have had non-inflamed acne for 6 years, but in the past year had been having more of a problem with inflamed acne. I found it really took care of my inflamed acne quite well without ever getting to the full 2 pumps you're supposed to use, but I was still left with non-inflamed bumps everywhere. After finally ramping up to 2 pumps of BP, and adding AHA+, my non-inflamed acne is going away! This product really is amazing, and I always recommend it to others. Try it out and stick with it for a few months before you ditch it! The flaky skin and redness is normal, and unless you are allergic to BP, it will get better! :)

Pros:

This product has completely cleared up my acne. My skin is now clear and soft. I am so happy with this product that I am recommending it to everyone I know. Thank you so much for making it!!!

Cons:

Can cause dryness if you don't moisturize enough. Also, you really have to use it every day.

It works. I have never had a product clear up my skin so well. It is a great feeling knowing that I will wake up in the morning with great skin.

Pros:

It works!

Cons:

Bleaches clothing
Takes a while for your skin to adjust.

As a 30 year-old that has suffered with acne for 18 years, this is the best stuff out there. At first, my skin did not respond well but within a month or two, things turned around (well worth the wait!)
