NEVER DO THIS!!!!!!!!!
Toothpaste may dry out your pimples and work in the short run. But some chemicals in the toothpaste may cause you're face to get oily and break out. So in the long run it will make your acne / pimples worse! Pimples may even turn to full acne and damage your skin permanently! NEVER EVER DO THIS!!!

That just means you are having an allergic reaction to the toothpaste

I've studied skin and I feel like the best way around this to prevent further breakouts is once this pimple has gone from the toothpaste apply moisturiser as soon as possible. This way the goodness of the moisturiser will reset the skin back to its happy place where it isn't confused and decides to create more oil. Your skin is trying its best to maintain a certain balance between dry and oily, but sometimes it'll produce more if it thinks it's too dry, which, with toothpaste it obviously will be :-) So toothpaste and moisture up! :)

Also, the chemicals in toothpaste aren't even really supposed to be going near your skin, so the original postee has a point. But an allergic reaction is super possible too, again because the products inside toothpaste aren't for your skin, lol but people are going to do it anyway, that's just why I wrote how to aid along with the toothpaste :-)

Pros:

-Easy to find
-Works well
-Quick fix

This stuff works for pimples! It reduces the redness alot. Alot of people say to do it overnight, but really, it dries within 40 minutes. What I do, is keep reapplying (maybe 3 times) and then it's barely noticable.

Pros:

It works it you use the right type of toothpaste

Cons:

It burns your skin badly if you use the wrong type! Believe me, I know from experience!

Make sure you use your basic, white toothpaste. Gel (the clear blue stuff) is what will burn you very badly. I leave it on all night and it works like a charm. I did use the gel one time and it totally burnt my skin all the way through -- it was completely white at the center and all red and burned around the edges (pretty bad burn!).

great for OCD pickers to resist touching face at home
the toothpaste treatment is not a miracle at fighting acne, so don't count on this as your no. 1 cure because it isn't really that effective, it may however help some pimples dry out/ surface but it only really worked on my most superficial acne. The best way toothpaste actually helped me was that it made me resist touching my face because I couldn't see any of my blemishes and that definitely saved me a lot of scars as back then I was a major OCD picker and just couldn't leave my face alone. So thanks toothpaste. just a little warning: when in-doors expect to receive strange looks and remarks from curious family members. Oh and before you leave to go somewhere, make sure you have cleaned everything off properly!

Not sure.
At first it worked. I put a little and went to sleep, it was almost gone but there was a scar. I decided to try it again but the next morning I had a rash which was horrible my skin was peeling and the skin was so hard and it made my skin look oily. I didn't dare to try it again. The chemicals hurt my skin and burnt my eyes. It's not worth it.

Of course!

Pros:

Works!
Smells great! ;D

Cons:

Can tingle a little for a minute or two (sometimes unpleasant)
Messy

Okay, it doesn't completley get rid of the zit but it does help dry it out and kill it a lot faster. Especially cystic acne. But the toothpaste has to be completely white and you apply it directly to the zit and nothing else.

Pros:

-Drys out pimple
-Always on hand
-Quick drying
-Overnight spot treatment
-Emergency use
-Post-popped-zit pain relief

Cons:

-Only put a little on. Glob it on and you'll have white spots on your pillows
-White spots on your face (use when no one will see you)

I've been using this for years but yesterday I was stuck in traffic when I felt a nasty whitehead on my jawline finally bust. I hate the feeling of the pus oozing out but didn't want to get in more infected by wiping it. Then I remembered all the travel toothpastes the dentist gives me in my glove box. I dabbed in on the zit quickly (in traffic) and the pain and icky feeling stopped immediately. I was so relieved! I rushed home and cleaned the area to see that the redness was gone and the pimple was much flatter. Good thing because it probably would have spread the infection if I didn't treat it asap. Thank you dentist!

Worth the try!
This treatment is debatable; it works for some but not for others. But it doesn't hurt to try it out. I would say this is more of a spot treatment, a quick overnight rescue me type of product. I wouldn't recommend this to those with sensitive skin. It definitely has a stinging sensation after application, but naturally I assume it means it's working and it's not an overly strong feeling which causes burns. Recommend applying the toothpaste in very small amounts - almost pea-sized. And on very noticeable pimples only. I've found it minimizes the size overnight and reduces the redness.
