Tea tree oil is defined by international standard ISO 4730 (2004) (“Oil of Melaleuca, Terpinen-4-ol type”), which specifies levels of 15 components, which are needed to define the oil as “tea tree oil.”

Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

Pros:

It dries up the pimples that already exist.

Cons:

Makes my skin a bit dry, but nothing a bit of moisturiser can't fix.

It's great to 'repair' the pimples but I don't think it does anything to prevent outbreaks.

Pros:

Works on zits

Cons:

Can make your face ichy and red

Tea Tree oil works, but for some people it might not work, i used it for a few week or so, then it stoped working for me. But when it did work it left face feeling great!!! And it really helps if your face is hurting. Give it a shot it might just work for you!!!

Pros:

-Promotes healing

Cons:

-Burns skin
-Does not prevent acne

I just want to say that for all of you hoping that this is a miracle product, IT'S NOT! Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic......so it helps get rid of the bacteria that causes acne. It won't necessarily solve the problem, but it's worth a try.

Pros:

I have been using tea tree oil facial wash, toner, and night gel to get rid of my recurring acne. I have noticed that it dried up the acne on the first week. My skin feels clean and looks better.

Cons:

The oil has a temporary weird smell. The results of this ingredient are not dramatic. I may have to wait for more weeks before it clears out. It is also a little bit expensive in the Philippines since the product comes from Australia.

It's a good product. A person with acne should try it out if it matches the skin type and its needs.

Pros:

even big pimples gone in 2 days, finally have my severe acne under control

its just GREAT

I am using it for about a week and finally got my acne under control. I just a had period and got 3 big whiteheads and when I used tea tree oil on them, they were gone in 2 days- I use tee trea oil overnight, at first there was this strange a little burning sensation then nice refreshing one so you can feel this great stuff is working, but as I use it the burning disappears I use thursday plantation tea tree oil which claims to have 20% more of the active ingredient than the european union standards. Who knows if its really? you cannot measure it :) all I care about is that my horrible acne that was a nightmare is finally under control and now my post inflammatory changes can heal without new pimples (from time to time i still get some) interupting

Pros:

Fairly cheap, peels fresh red marks, dries pimples.

Cons:

Hasnt prevented breakout very well.

I stopped using benzoyle peroxide after it stopped working as well as it originally did, and I thought Id try tea tree oil after reading all the great reviews. It hasnt been very effective though in fighting breakouts, maybe Im not using it to its full potential though. I usually put about 4 drops into my regular moisturizer after cleansing. Anyway, Im going back on the regimen tongiht, hopefully it works out.

Pros:

-clear up my acne within days

Cons:

-makes skin really dry
-strong smell
-stings eyes

It's good if you have severe acne, but after using it..it leaves a really strong scent and makes your skin really dry.

Pros:

pimple seemed to lose infection over nite, nd in the morning it was only something makeup could cover..

Cons:

can't handle the odor. smells like gasoline.

anything worthwhile, doesn't come easy!

Pros:

`got rid of one pimple

Cons:

didnt work well for me

i had a pimple on my nose and in two days it was gone thanks to tea tree oil but im getting new pimples on my face and i use the cetaphil cleanser and it doesnt clog pores so i know its not the cetaphil that brakes me out sooo im thinking its the tea tree oil but i'll give it another week maybee
