Tea Tree Oil

tea tree oil is a miracle- it will shrink down cysts and make them less painful and easier to cover-up. it's very strong, though, so try to only spot-treat when possible. i had a very bad cystic breakout on my cheeks a few months ago and after trying everything else, the tea tree oil was the only thing that worked on them. however, i made the mistake of putting the oil on a cotton ball and wiping it over the acne-ridden area, and although it DID dry up the pimples, it also made the skin around the pimples very dry, painful, and leather-y looking. i would have been better off spot-treating. but like i said, the stuff is amazing, just don't misuse it.

I'm well into my 40s and have suffered with acne since I was a teen. It gets worse when the monthly hormones kick in. I always used TTO shampoo but never thought of using it foe my skin until I read your board. I'd recommend it whole-heartedly. BUT always test check a small spot of skin on the wrist or abdomen for sensitivity. I use the Desert Essence Kinder to Skin TTO straight from the bottle. Saturate a cotton ball and use like a toner after washing with a mild cleanser.

I was just reading some articals that people have posted on here and i relized that I have a bottle of the tea tree oil and I do have balck heads so i tryed the straight tea tree oil on my face.I think it smels yucky but about 2 minutes after applying it on my face was starting to feel cooler and fresher(who thaught that cleaning you face with oil would feel this good)Thanks to who ever came accross tre tree oil.I can breath better now too LOL

It's all natural, which is the basic appeal for me, I don't like using contrived ingredients on my body. It's worth a shot for people, but it may not be the end all saving grace of your problems.

I put this on a new and existing pimples last night (I only have hormonal acne down the side of my chin) and this morning they were flattened and dried out. I've never seen this good a result from BP so I'm pretty happy with this! I first diluted it with jojoba but now just putting it directly with a q tip :)

most products make me break out and turn my skin bright red but pure tea tree oil seems to work quite well. only been a short time but my skin is calming down quite a bit. ( killing my demodex mites?) make sure to try pure tea tree oil only. downside- smells strong

I havent used this product enough to come to a concrete decision on whether it has been good for my skin but so far it definitely does dry up spots, flatten bumps overnight, gets rid of oil and leaves my skin feeling fresh. I understand some people have very sensitive and acne-prone skin therefore i think this oil is NOT for them. It is VERY strong and drying and can actually make your acne worse. if you have dry and flaky skin the oil will not be able to penetrate deep into your pores and work its magic. To make it less strong you can dilute it with tap water or something else of your choice so that it doesn't burn or damage your skin too much. it is definitely catered more for oily skin types.

its too irritating for my sensitive skin and the smell is awful. I replaced it with honey & lemon face mask. The change is fantastic.

Always try - never see ANY DIFFERENCE OR RESULTS - just feels a bit oilier... I cannot stand OIL ON MY FACE even if it's natural ... SORRY! The feeling is simply too greasy for me! I much prefer moisturizer that is oil-free or at least not make to slick me up - even if this is an acne remedy supposedly... I find far better ones like coffee scrub and yogurt and turmeric and lemon juice...

This might have helped a little bit, but really I just noticed peeling and no change in the actual pimple. I use it on my scalp now, though, and now it's cleaner and flake free!!
