Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

Pros:

feels good when applied. tightens pores

Cons:

smells too strong.

I don't think it does the job for me. I felt that it tightened the pores, but no impact on my pimples. Initially, I tried it with a Q-tip at 100% topically, but it didn't make much difference. Next, I diluted it with toner and applied it in the problem areas with cotton balls. it won't hurt. it is good in the areas where pores are visible.

Pros:

doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all unlike BP, seems to be effectively killing the bacteria that my doctor thinks is causing my acne, doesn't cause comodones to scar like other topical treatments, and when i use it daily, prevents breakouts!

Cons:

results aren't always immediate. it usually takes longer than BP to see the effects.

TTO doesn't work for everyone. there hasn't been much research about it, but in the research that does exists, it shows that 5% TTO is just as effective as 5% BP in treating mild to mod. acne, but with less side-effects. all i know is that it works wonders for me. i use @mosphere's 5% TTO + gylcolic acid, and my skin is the best it's ever been. i like that it's a natural product and that it's alot less harsh than SA and BP. i'm a total advocate lol.

Pros:

helps with zits when used sparingly/just a dab on a QTip will suffice

Cons:

i put some TTO on a cotton ball and held it on a growing zit for 20 minutes...it ended up burning my skin and now i have a cotton ball sized scab...i am hoping this will not leave a permanent scar!

good just be careful!

Pros:

makes your skin feel clean and refreshed, given a little time and patience this stuff reallys works and helps combat oil and grease that lies on the skin surface.Helps clear them annoying pesky blackheads and tough whiteheads.

Cons:

not a total miracle cure, however its natural, good on all skin types and really helps clean up your skin giving it a healthy glow and evens out the complexion.

I have used a few drops of tea tree oil in my facial sauna and after a day of wearing make up the grease & oil traces on my skin are yucky! My skin is full of oil & what a nice feeling it is putting my face in the sauna with the nice aroma and natural powers of TTO.After I have done my sauna I wash my face using a little of my facial wash and pat dry with a towel then I do apply some BP 5% to the nasty ones that linger for days... and viola my skin feels clean, fresh and clearer. I have nasty spots around my mouth and nose, cheek areas they spread and by the end of the day a nice whitehead appears! TTO just cleans them right up as well and the bp kills the bacteria and grease, I have been using TTO for over a week now and no longer do I have red angry spots the red has faded alot which is great and now i just have a few whiteheads that dont hurt anymore. Give this stuff a try, it cleans the pores out well leading to clearer skin!

Pros:

Does what over-the-counter meds do but naturally and gently.
Cheap
Clean (not drying) feeling

Cons:

Some people don't like the smell (I do)

I've been using Tea Tree Oil for years and love it! I actually put a drop into my moisturizer every morning as well as use it for spot treatment.

Pros:

Struggled with acne prone skin on face, sholders and back for years TTO helped clear it all up within one week. Miracle

Cons:

The smell is strong but def worth it!I actually like the smell but its not the best for a first date lol.....

You have to try TTO at least onces, its natural and it works. You can even buy mositurizers with TTO in them if you find 100% TTO dries out your skin.

Pros:

great for spot treatment and as toner and in-between moisturizer.used 1week and no more new acne!! it's great natural product!

Cons:

little dry and stings when used alone

i read about tea tree from this forum, and went to get right away.got "SAGE" 100% organic australian tree tree oil.i tested it on my wrist first for allergic reaction, and then after using "LUSH"(COALFACE soap)and i use the toner(that i just made with damp cotton ball with 2 drops of tea tree oil) and after dried, i use the little bottle that i made with 10ml of jojoba oil and 3~4drops of tea tree oil.Just used it as you would use like toner. And then let it dry.if let it dry about 10 min or so and it looks oily on the skin, just dab it with tissue paper. And finish off with "LUSH"(enzymion moisturizer)make it matt but moisturized! i had pretty bad skin..even considering plastic surgery for my skin.tried many things on the market for about 4 years..i'm 24.had always wear make up with concerlers. i think i would be ready to go bare(with sunscreen it's important)if this continues!! i just wanted to say thanks to this webside and hope this works for you! Good luck and just believe!!

Pros:

Clears my skin up over night - it really works!

Cons:

Stings my eyes for a few seconds & dries out the skin by the mouth, a little.

It's cheap - under $10. You can get it at most grocery stores - they keep it in the nail polish section b/c it can be used to sterlize manicure/pedicure tools. The bottle suggests diluting it for facial use, but I'm hard-core, so I just dab it - full strenght - onto my break-outs after washing my make-up off at night. I use the Exposed product line, but it's not really helping. The Tea Tree Oil IS helping. It doesn't prevent new break-outs, but it REALLY clears up or reduces the size of the existing ones so that my make-up goes on nice & smooth. I need to start diluting it, though, b/c it's drying my skin out a bit. I'm also using Bare Minerals, so that may be drying my skin out as well. I'm happy with it so far....
